Nice to see Tirupur being recognised for its performance. There is however much to be done for Tirupur itself. Which will then see its exports double. The Tuthukodi port is not deep enough to harbour a mother vessel. All of Tirupur's exports hence hub out of Colombo through a network of feeder and mother vessels. Costing 250$ and 10 days more for each and every shipment. Zero Liquid Discharge costs are spiraling. Marine discharge of dyeing effluent, like done in China, is a lasting solution. Our government should help out with these factors.
@@GbMuthu yaaar, -_- , China "saying" and actually "doing" are very different things -- There's a reason why there's no more heavy polluting industries in the West for things like mining/textiles/leather/steel/ship breaking/etc. It will be best if India can get access to the latest techs/patents which makes these things cost effective to remain competitive. But we all know thats not gonna happen anytime soon. 😖
How badly tiruppur became after the city shifted to textile hub . U could witness both environmental and agricultural damage over there in a decade so it seems another roll over pollution in the phase of employment its win-win situation. But disaster under surface...
Why 75 don't overdo it or nothing will work. Creating skilled labour will take time and it is not easy to support 75 textile hubs. Setup 25 hubs then 10 will succeed and become Tirupur type hubs

Excellent points. But dyeing effluent discharge needs to be properly treated
@@fergiepicachew certainly Sir, in China they are said to decolourise the effluent and discharge in sea matching TDS.
