    Bambu should be making these videos for EVERYTHING a customer might have to do and it would likely help reduce the calls to tech support which they clearly can't handle.

    Thanks for tearing yours apart so we don't have to possibly damage ours! Mine jammed on the first print in the AMS. I took the two screws out to pull it out, then saw the ribbon and decided youtube was a better solution than a damaged printer with zero completed prints.

    Thanks for this. I had a jam there too; I did take the two back screws off though and was luckily able to just push the broken piece through with another piece of filament. It's good to know if I get another jam I won't need to go as far as removing the screws.
    Also, as an FYI to anyone who wants to keep one of those hubs on hand as a spare who doesn't click through your link (they should!), it's under the spare parts--> ams lite section of the store, listed as "AMS lite Filament Hub".

    i actually took "those 2 screws" out and ended up with not being able to get the ribbon back in the housing. my solution was to use the provided allen wrench and fish the ribbon out the side of the housing in order to pull in back in. i write this so it may help someone in the future.

    I keep a few of them filament tubes on hand like you said $6.00 US plus they work great on my P1S in the back splitting my side manual holder. Seen that by one of the other great minds, I just follow and thank you for sharing. I also have the Filament jammer have not used it since this looks like two filaments some how got squeezed into one. I guess the simple spring operation on the spool failed to pull back far enough.

    Good job, you're a lifesaver! I just saw a small piece of broken filament slide down the tube into the head. Now how to get that out......your vid came up as one of the first. 3 minutes work (removed 3 small pieces of that same filament) and now it's up and running again!👍👍👍👍

  • @Prof.Polymath

    I could just do with seeing how the bloody tubes are supposed to come out of the top really? Those black rings don’t do nothing no matter how much I press!? How do they release?

    • @3DPrintStuff
      @3DPrintStuff  8 месяцев назад +1

      yeah these could definitely be designed better. Unfortunately it's a painful coordination of pushing down on the black part and pulling out the tube. There are some tools you can print on makerworld to make this a bit easier: makerworld.com/en/models/74081#profileId-78597

  • @Roobotics
    @Roobotics 22 дня назад

    This is excellent info man! As someone who often tears into electronics to repair things, I did the same thing and undid the back 2 screws.. started lifting up and felt the tension of something.. the flatflex. "Oh no I am NOT supposed to be here for servicing.." as I know tearing a flat flex circuit is a great way to ruin ones day, they are stupid fragile. Pulling the top piece only off via that tab area, also makes getting the PTFE tubes out WAY easier(my jammed one was not budging) as you can use more angles on it and press it down against a desk. I think I'm going to design a base that this entire piece keys into, so that tube won't get destroyed.. mine jammed from having PLA just sitting in the tube, pieces cracked then fell in.. 2 pieces fell out from that same filament, I'm guessing inside it all wedges to one area, so 2 filaments there will pretty much always cause a jam to occur.

    • @3DPrintStuff
      @3DPrintStuff  22 дня назад

      Yeah they funnel into one tube so 2 of any filament will cause a jam like in the video.
      Those top screws do serve a purpose and there are some maintenance/replacement tasks that require disassembling them but just not for a simple jam haha. Glad you liked the video :)

      @@3DPrintStuff Thank you for responding.
      I removed the hot end and found the answer on the screen for heating the hot end. By going into that setting, I could "extrude" the broken piece below the filament cutter by pressing the down arrow. That spit the broken piece out.

    Thanks for the video. My very first attempt to print has "jammed" (can't detect filament location) and I'm trying to resolve, Your video has made me resist taking things apart too soon. Next thing, how to remove PTFE tubes from white AMS 4-way widget ...

      @@3DPrintStuff thanks :) in the end didn’t have to remove tubes. I’d put a bit of old Ender 3 filament in which had a long ‘spike’ of half-melted filament at the end. I guess this was confusing the A1 Mini. Just popping up the AMS Hub let me access the filament and cut the ‘spike’ off then everything worked great. Was a bit surprised I couldn’t eject the filament more easily either automatically or manually.

    If you're looking at the ams hub, there's a lever on the right for cutting the filament, and there's a lever on the left. What is that left lever for? I can't figure it out, I know the wiki said it's an extruder gear lever but not sure what that really means

    • @3DPrintStuff
      @3DPrintStuff  Месяц назад +1

      Pressing that lever disengages the extruder gear. You can test it out by removing the hotend and trying to push filament through by hand. You wont be able to. Press that lever and you will be able to push filament through by hand. Let go of the lever and it will grip on to the filament.
      You won't run into to many situations where you have to use this but it's useful during a jam or some maintenance tasks.

    Can you show how do you remove the PTFE tubes from the AMS feed to the extruder? I was trying to change the PTFE tube to use the external spool instead of the AMS and had to fight to remove the tube and ended up damaging the tube. Thanks in advance for your help sir!

      Press down on the black part while pulling up on the tube. They are a bit of a pain to remove. Bambu Lab have a video at this link: wiki.bambulab.com/en/a1-mini/maintenance/ptfe-tube#:~:text=Remove%20the%20PTFE%20tubes%20with,PTFE%20tubes%20one%20after%20another

    Thank you for info. Hmm, I have not to use cracking filament if printing multi filament I think and then I should be safe. I’m getting this printer in few days

      Yeah I was using old brittle filament, you'll be good if you use new filament.

    My real problem was that I thought I could just put a line of filament into the ams without having it on a spool. This actually jams the square piece where the tubes meet. Easy fix, just pull out the line...
