      @drtone 8 месяцев назад +1

      I see your point, but power windows are a must have, they allow straight forward enjoyment of the car, its not a lazy trivial mod, its a control that you are constantly using while driving, and shows dedication to detail, I'd ditch the sound system for power windows.

      Only annoying thing: people always pull up next to my 280z at a stoplight and want to compliment it or ask a question about it. I have to try and do sign language to tell them I can’t roll down the passenger window lol

      Had 2 in the 70's the first had a 283 chevy,, the second had a 289 tri- pwr had a bunch of problems with the yokes- till i upgraded them at the trans & diff& suspension was beefed up too// this unit looks beautiful/ we ran with the scca then, still have them and a couple right drives too ended buying 4 more 14 years ago when my friend and racer died, he didnt want his son to beat them up but i sold him a 280 after all it was his dads street car he still has it.
      My wife &I hit some of the car shows once in a while, & i drive them all when im feeling well. My son & grand kids love to be seen in them. Someday they'll all have one ,xcpt the racers, those will be going to a some younger friends that wanna make drift cars!

    Buddy did a 327 swap in a 280 Z 2:02 42 years ago ...sick .... it did need some bigger rubber in the back so it would hook...and that was what made it all work!.

  • @jeffpitzer8521
    @jeffpitzer8521 7 месяцев назад

    Cool car! Back in the late 90's a customer brought a 280 Z to my shop to fix some rust in the battery tray. It was the same color combo. Someone back in the day had brazed in a right frame rail and inner fender in it due to a collision. It wasn't properly seam sealed and battery acid had eaten out the bottom of the frame clear to the riser behind the passenger seat. There was almost nothing holding the front suspension in! I told him he was in no way obligated to have his car repaired at my shop but he wasn't driving it back home. I remade all the parts of the frame and a 6" wide strip of the floor pan from the top of the firewall to the rear riser. Seeing the "😊during" pics brought back a flood of memories! So cool for him to build it for his dad... says something about how cars can really bond a father/ son relationship.

    I had a Datsun 240 Z that I got and it didn’t run. I rebuild the engine with 11 1/2 to 1 compression and had triple Weber‘s on it. I had a electronic fan on it with a temperature gauge, but also a switch inside that I can turn it on and off when I wanted. I had an inch and a quarter swaybar on the front and an inch and an eighth swaybar in the back. I had wheel wheel flares on it and I had 235x50x15’s on it with KYB struts and 25% stiffer coil springs. I had a five speed in it and it loved 85 miles an hour and handled around corners like it was on the rails. I also custom-made some turnbuckles to adjust the alignment and I loved that car. I would love to get another one and actually put a small V-8 in it, but mine was actually pretty quick.

SO I SAVED UP MONEY, PULLED OUT THE ENTIRE DRIVE TRAIN AND CLEANED IT ALL UP, AND ENGINE BAY AS WELL. PAINTED THE ENGINE BAY SATIN BLACK, 100 % RE WIRED THE CAR. PANTED THE ENGINE YELLOW, FLAT WHITE INTAKE AND EXHAUST MANIFOLDS, GLOSS BLACK ACCESSORY BRACKETS, SATIN BLACK, AND ALUMINUM COBRA FINNED VALVE COVERS, GLOSS WHITE TRANSMISSION, WOOD DASH WITH DIGITAL GAUGES, FULL CUSTOM CARPET, AND OMG, GOD AWFUL AND TEMPORARY MUSTANG REAR END. TOOO WIDE !. GOD IT WAS SOOOO QUICK. HELL THE CAR DIDN'T WAY ANYTHING. IT HANDLED GREAT AS WELL DUE TO EXTRA HEAVY DUTY SWAY BARS, AND STIFF AIR SHOCKS.
