Give Trenton what he wants and do the rye series! He’s earned it
Yes please! Rye Series!
Yeah man. I’m a scotch & rye guy. Bourbon is third place for my palate. Love ‘em all…but you get the idea.
Yes please do a rye series like this
Agreed! They could break it down by regions instead of price points to shake it up. KY vs IN(MGP) vs PA vs East vs West or whatever.
I really enjoy rye whisky. Double blind it.
I would personally love to see this series with rye. Anyone with me?
Maybe also different finishes too???
For sure!!!!
Hurrumph
No lol
Yep
My mother used to sleep with a window cracked open all winter. Fond memory of a great lady. Thanks, guys!!
76 degrees on the thermostat for the AC. Great video, guys! And thanks for the advice on Glenns Creek; stopped there and that was fantastic!
I love waking up on a brisk Friday morning listening to reviews from these two cool dudes. Just waiting till tonight to open up a nice bottle of Smokewagon after putting my kids to bed and even better, no wife around. Life is grand. Cheers
Aside from bourbon, I admire you’re relationship between father and son. I lost my dad when I was 25, and I would imagine that now me at 55 would’ve had the same relationship you guys have with each other. Although, he would’ve been 81 now, but from at least during his retirement years, we would’ve been probably doing the same thing as you guys at home, just not in a RUclips channel. Cherish this, don’t take it for granted and enjoy each and every moment together. Just started watching your videos. Cheers guys!
I agree that Woodford double oaked at CS will be mind blowing, considering how good the the batch proof 124.7 from regular reserve was…..
Woodford double oaked store pick is one of my favorites irregardless of price. Just a great nose/flavor profile for the proof/cost
I would like to ask for Prayers for my oldest Grandson (he’s 5) he had surgery Tuesday morning to remove a large tumor in his brain!! He’s is on the road to recovery and it will be a long one !!! All prayers are appreciated… Thanks 🙏 in advance !!
Not even done watching this vid, but want to recognize that Trenton is quickly becoming my favorite RUclips personality. Thanks for what you do guys!
It'd be interesting to see the results if you pitted the winners in each of the price categories against each other. I would love to see that.
Thats their plan. They talk about it in the beginning.

As a devout follower of Old Forester 1910 and Woodford Double Oaked, I've been curiously eying Peerless DO on the shelves for a while now. I'm glad to see it has your stamp of approval, will have to pick it up and try it when I see it at a decent price.
Love this series! I would say for the Final I would separate and do the 4 lower half flight and the upper 4 flight and advance the top 2 from each setting up the final flight of 4. That may be a little too much for one night though lol.
Yes please do a Rye version of all these videos!
Glad you guys loved the peerless! I’m the doofus you guys met in their gift shop. Was so nice to meet you guys!
Love this series. Would love to see you do a rye series like this. Thank!🥃
I've tried the Calumet 16 and loved it. Have not had a chance to try the Peerless double oaked but am searching for it.
I can't imagine setting the AC at 65. Mine is set at 75 and I have a fan on to circulate the air. Trenton must have a $300 electric bill during the summer.
Would love to see a Rye version of this. Also for the final you could do two random groups of 3-4, pick the top two front those groups to make a final grouping of 4. Its a lot of whiskey, but it may help to narrow down your choices a bit.
Hey, I was that one person who put Peerless DO in first! It was all me! 😂 Love that one. And I keep my AC at 68, but colder at night, so I lean toward Trenton's school of thought on the temps.
When we did our barrel pick at Woodford we had regular Woodford at cask strength 124, 139, and 141. They were all 3 very different pours and excellent. The 139 was amazing.
Here in Florida we have it set for 75-76. We never shut it off except the rare times we switch to heat in the winter. It’s too hot even at night and always too humid. You will actually risk mold in your house without ac during most months of the year.
The “roll the glass” technique definitely brings out additional notes. Great tip! Currently drinking Still Austin Cask Strength
Just picked up a store pick of the same and have been enjoying it. Cheers
Thanks for the video. While I enjoy Calumet 16 (I like the nose better than the palate), I'm not a huge fan of the cherry note. Anyway, Kurt I mixed it 50/50 with a Russell's Reserve Single Barrel, and it is really quite excellent (maybe a drop or two of water). (I'm mentioning it because I know the Russell's is one of your go to daily drinkers). Enjoy.
Can you guys do a review of the full offering from Old Elk? That would be fun to watch
Great tasting selection! I’ve been curious about peerless for a while.
I just visited the Peerless distillery two weeks ago and they didn't have any double oaked. I was so sad. Now I want a bottle even more than I did before. Thanks you two
First off, keep the A/C on! I’m wearing noise cancelling headphones and can just barely hear it in the background. Second, I’m glad I’m not the only one that isn’t left with an impression after 2XO. For the price, I expect more. Third, LOVE seeing Tattersall on your bar. If you haven’t tried their BIB high-rye bourbon or rye, it’s worth it. And affordable at around $40-$50. Finally, how do you guys feel about those prices for the bourbon in the bottle? I have moral and ethical issues spending over $80 for a spirit.
Haven't had BBC Disco #10 but have had multiple batches in the past along with the rest of the bottles in this blind and loved Calumet 16 but the Peerless DO is hard to beat. Probably my favorite DO product on the market. Read that MSRP increased to ~$130+ for this year's batch (was ~$75-80 in TX last year) and that the flavor profile changed from dark and sweet to very oak / pepper forward which would be disappointing on both accounts if true. Great blind fellas - cheers!
Your thermostat at 65 is crazy. Also it gets to upper 40’s low 50’s on y’all’s summer nights??? Here in SC we’re lucky to get in the upper60’s on a summer night but it won’t feel cool due to the high humidity. Thank the Lord the weather is finally cooling off and we’re in the low 80’s for a high and low 60’s for a low right now. It’s sweet relief.
The Calumet 16 is such a good pour. Good value, easy to get your hands on. All day. I haven't tried the Peerless Double Oak, but will keep an eye out. Cheers.
I agree with Trenton, I want the house as cold as possible for going to bed. Set at 67/68 usually. Window open, etc
I'm glad to see that you both agree with me on the 2 xo, especially for the over-hyped price. Great blind guys, thanks.
The calumet 16 year so far is my favorite go too, I always have a bottle. I’ve shared a few glasses with others and always a favorite.
Not hitting Trenton’s low temps, but 68 is my reasonable spring summer sitting around the house. Then the drop to 65 for sleep. Fall winter will set the heat at 65, so if it drops below that the heat will kick on. I have a gas furnace and that heat hits dry and very hard for 65.
We have both Peerless DO and Calumet 16. Both are superb choices, just different. I'm glad we have both.
Love the reviews. Question? What do you guys do with the bourbon you have left in the glasses after the reviews? Do you drink it up?
Trent, you’re cracking me up with your side stories. But, to answer the temperature question as an Indiana man born and raised that now lives in Tennessee I keep me house at a constant 68 summer and winter. Cheers brothers 🦅🥃
Great video guys! I would buy 3 gallons if Peerless DO if they had it near me. I envy those who have it on their shelves. It's my favorite above all others I've tried.
Woodford double oaked cask strength would be my absolute dream. Regular double oaked is by far the bottle I drink the most of
Ok fellas, here is the next blind !! All the winners from each price range !! That’s what we want to see ! Please
That's what they said they plan to do on the live stream
2:38
Listen to the beginning of the video. 🤯
We need top 2 from each round slipping into
You should really listen to the video…
I see a lot of review and love for the peerless double oak, but what about the peerless small batch? That's one of my favorites
I love the common interest you both have in bourbon. As a dad I appreciate that.
I love Peerless Double Oak. Probably my favorite. I really like their single barrel proof too
I have a thing about sourced bottles, being that they can not replicate it if it's a great blend! With their own distillate if they don't use all on hand they can blend and bottle it again!
I've noticed that both the 2XO Phoenix and Innkeepers changed drastically after the bottles sat a while after opening. Didn't care for them at first, but we're delicious after a couple of weeks.
I believe it. Jeffersons Ocean has that effect for me personally. .
KURT!!!----TRENTON!!! Very nice blind!!! This seemed to be a little more difficult. Barrell Vantage is one I HAVE to find!! Great video!! CHEERS!!!
Love the shows helps me think about what try next and to work I’m tasting notes. I suggest you do a blind tasting using Woodford reserve, Elijah Craig, Knob 9, and 1792. Just regular ones and see who comes out on top and if you can guess them. Thanks Gentleman 😊
Y'all are crazy with the AC, I keep mine at 75 haha. Thanks for the videos!
More important than the temp inside is the humidity level. If your AC is sized properly it will be more comfortable at 72 than a house with an oversized AC at 70 because the oversized unit will have higher humidity due to the unit not running enough. I kept my house at 69 before replacing with a half ton smaller unit and now its just as comfortable at 72 and feels like a refrigerator at 69 its great.
I've worked in HVAC for 30yrs and just wanted to say you are spot on with this comment.
My a c buddy preaches this all the time. Also put in a dehydrator or air conditioning the attic space.
Most of those are some of my favorite to grab. On any given day I could swap Calumet 16 and BBC Discovery(any series) as 1 or 2. Peerless double oaked is right behind depending on the barrel. Vantage I like but don’t pour enough and the XO’s are good but just don’t enjoy as much as others. The only one I would have added is Lucky No 7 14yr. Or Glenn’s Creek Cuervito Vivo in the $60-80
Another great one can’t wait to try these
Bumped into the Peerless double oak rye, you guys tried it? Really enjoying it.
72 Degrees in summer. Also, I love rye, please do a series on rye moving through the various price points.
I used to do 72, but then I moved to 73 and this summer I'm at 74.
I'd be really interested to see how some of the bourbons in the $50-$80 range stack up against these. I've maintained for a long time that most bourbons over $60 aren't worth it, especially the ones that are sourcing bourbon and/or covering up bad bourbon with finishes.
I'm in agreement. I think the best are in the $40-$60 range, and I don't mean best value, but best. Period.
Trenton, yes you all should do a Rye one as well, I’m a big Rye fan!!!
Have our AC set 72-74, with the fan always on to keep air circulating
I would love to get a Peerless Double Oaked for MSRP
OH I didn’t know there was a connection between Brown Foreman and Woodford Reserve 😮. Thanks for the info.
AC at 73 during the day, 68 at night, for spring and summer. Fall heater is set to 68 and winter is around 68-70.
Hey guys, nice vid as always - BTW the A/C noise is not noticeable (to me at least) on the audio, leave it on! 72 at my house too.
Rebecca Creek double barrel bourbon!! Y’all have got to give it a try! It is fantastic!!!
10/10 Trenton this video. Pure comedy my friend!
Quite surprised Pearless DO made the list as here in TX you pretty much never see it on the shelf. Would love to be in an area where it’s more common.
Agree with others, rye series would be great 👍. Had Peerless Double Oak for the first time at a Louisville hotel last week and it was wonderful. Hard to find and $140 at the distillery but would buy of I found it for that
I live in north Florida and set our thermostat at 75. If it was set at 65 degrees my electric bill would be $600.00. It is $400 a month as it is. Bring on the Rye !!
Can't wait for the allocated blind and live show next Friday!
Trenton is killing me with sweaty band-aid, fish skin, pvc pipe, graphite pencil from the 5th grade 😂😂
Favorite by price is a fun series, but have you guys done favorite by proof? Do a best 80-90, 90-100, 100-110, 110-120, and 120+. I'm sitting here sipping on Maker's 46 and that's high on my favorites list in its category.
What are your favorite ryes? I'm not usually drinking ryes that much
I need to try that Peerless Double oak.
Great job guys.
Trent need to watch that chicken. It's the main sorce for Salmonella infections.
72° in the summer and 70°-71° in the winter. I'm usually in shorts and a pocket T most of the year. Occasionally sweats in the winter
Do this series again but for allocated stuff!
65 degrees is crazy expensive to maintain. Even with Mid-Atlantic humidity we keep the summer temp between 69 and 70.
Hilarious and informative. Trenton is in a bit of a mood. Dropping his guard. Pop has popped a couple prior to this video. It has to happen. Lol. How couldn I t not
I about lost it with the bad chicken story!😂😂😂
I have the Peerless Double Oaked rye and holy cow is it delicious, I bet it would be right up Trenton’s alley. Cheers guys
What do you think would happen if you did a blind of the winners- or 1st and 2nd place- from each price range? Are you fairly confident that the rankings would correlate with the price? Should they?
For me, Peerless DO is a unicorn. I’ve never seen one on a shelf at any store in my area☹️
Keep the air on, be comfortable! Would’ve never known it was on if you hadn’t told me. I’m here for the bourbon not to critique videos!😉
Best whiskey duo on RUclips!
Is Larceny BP really hard to find? I see them everywhere in SoCal but I'd imagine it's tough in smaller remote areas
I keep the house at 76 as a temp during the heat. During the winter it's 60s over night and 68 during the day.
Hey! The only bottle of these I have won. Great stuff guys.
I'd love to see a high corn (low-ish rye) rye tasting.
genuinely curious, is peerless double oak readily available in some markets?
I live in Mexico and we set our AC to 26C (79F). Colder than that and we freeze. 🙂
AC set at 77° Trent, I'm a rye guy and would love to see a blind. Great blind. tough call when you get up in the quality spirits.
Had some Peerless Double Oaked at a steak restaurant back in June and it was amazing
Overlap price range below 80 plus and run top two random. Pair top 2 against top 2 in the 89 plus. Love the show
Now I know where to spend my lottery winnings! Great show! Cheers!
Definitely do a rye series.
Everything I’ve tried from Peerless has been great. I visited the distillery and tried a lot of them.
The hate for willet potstill is so weird to me... I actually really enjoy it lol.
So sad I can found only two of these in my state. Cheers....
75-78 ac degrees once it warms up. heat at about 68-70.
Also, if you’re including finished bourbons, you may as well include ryes and finished ryes
Trenton, as the youngest of three brothers I feel you. It’s all good until you get your payback lol. I’ve definitely walked in your shoes.
Trent I am with you Iove the Ryes love you blinds please keep them up
My AC is only on if the temp is 85+ and it's set at 71-72.
Haven't tried Bardstown #10 yet, but otherwise all solid bottles. Not necessarily surprised in the ranking, but a little surprised at your like/dislike of the 2XO. Thought it was a very tasty pour.
What is Kurt's favorite fish to catch ? Or favorite freshwater or saltwater ?
Also, congrats to Trent on getting through a video without saying anything about a band aid note 😂 but the unorthodox sommelier strikes again with the fish skin 😂
What year is the best year for the birthday bourbon?
