Brings back memories....I was 12 in 1984 when I got this kit and remember spending about a week putting it together myself. One of the greatest memories of my youth was firing this thing up for the first time in the front yard and bashing around. It's final form was unrecognizable as I modified it significantly to race but it did get me a couple of first place trophies. Mine might still be around in a box somewhere but I doubt it runs, I think i had problems getting the red adapters for the wheel hubs because they kept breaking and I gave up on it.
I had this in the 80's. I was always breaking the red triangle wheel hubs haha. Great video thanks for sharing. Also looks like the front bumper is upside down
The Hotshot was always out of my budget (I had the Frog) but I am very impressed with how quick it accelerated on that loose packed gravel. Outstanding. I did wonder back In the day how quickly the 4x4 drivetrain would drain the battery, which was pretty weak back in the 80s.
Beautiful pictures of a classic buggy. Still a beauty. A very practical question. How much dirt and dust does accumulate around the vital parts after such a run? Meaning do you need to clean right after to ensure future speed?
Awesome video and buggy! When I seen this, it moves me to decide to buy one too. Now I have one, but still shelf queen... You really push it hard! Very great shots! Congrats! Very good music choosen for this retro RC! 👌👍😎

Thanks for sharing, this was my first RC BUGGY that I bought in 1986, and I still have it.

Yes, iconic tamiya buggy.

I missed my original car. Beef up the motor, and a cell to battery, add bearing and change the tires to sponge and is was fast on the street.
