It runs like a different bike also. No stock Honda CT 125 would stay with it. However, there are some highly modified ones here in Thailand that would probably stomp my little El" Diablo in the mud..... Well maybe not stomp it in the mud, but dust it off the pavement......
I just commented to Lucas "ride for kicks" guy who was down in pattaya that it would have been great if U and he were to meet up and go for a trail ride and a beer. He's a big bike guy too! Both of you along with Dan and Robert seem great to do things with.
I'd love to meet up with him for a beer and a ride, maybe that should be a ride and then a beer.... I have to admit, I was very fortunate to have run across my two riding buddies. Daniel saw one of my videos and contacted me and Robert was setting across the street having lunch and a beer when I stopped for a green tea on the other side of the street. He came over to see my bike and then we exchanged phone numbers as he was about to go on his 10 week work schedule as a merchant marine. Super lucky to meet both of these guys and could not get along any better. Both of them have a great since of humor and that always makes for a fun day when we go for a ride..... It helps that we are all old enough to be able to drink a cold beer after the ride also.......
That's a big concern for me also. I do a lot of research before taking the plunge and lucky for me, there are an awful lot of small bore four stroke engines here in Thailand that have been modified. All I've got to do is start asking if this or that works, the locals are eager to let you know what it did to there bike...... Love living here......
Thanks for the comment Mike. Waiting on a few things for El' Diablo to be fixed. Will do a video on that as soon as I get the bike back from the mechanics shop. Nothing major, just a re-mapping of the ECU and replacing the valve stem seals. Getting it ready for when Daniel and Robert are both able to go riding again. Should be some good rides coming up..... Hang in there, more to come....
You need the beer keg, or you need the bike? I mentioned in the video that it wasn't cheap to do the mods. Total cost $180 US. Not really expensive for the states, but that is a lot for here.......
Positively 100% bad ass!!! Amazing performance enhancement you just accomplished. I also think the entire note it puts out sounds amazing. The back firing sounds really cool to me, sounds like El'Diablo cracking a bull whip. Buy your mechanic a steak dinner 🍽
He's Buddhist, they don't eat beef, it would have to be a pork steak dinner.... It's not just him, he has those 7 friends that have helped him with his knowledge and skills. I would stack them up against anyone on building a super hot-rod. A couple videos back, when we had him install the BBK on Roberts CT, I showed his Honda Cub and he started it and the sound was identical to what El' Diablo has now.... I'm just so impressed with the power gains the bike has now over stock. As soon as my air horn shows up, I'll install it and most of that back firing will probably disappear as I think it needs more air to go with the unburnt fuel which is causing the back fire...... Oh wow that sounds a real beast, its amazing how they made it sound like that, at 12:30 it really picks up speed, its very fast now! Does it have a big bore kit and a performance cam shaft now? You have to do a video of your mechanics turbo 110cc. Amazing scenery, lovely to watch.
I've now gotten the 142cc BBK as well as the high performance camshaft with the re-mapped ECU. This combination has really livened up an engine that we all knew had the potential to produce way more power than Honda tuned it for. Bad thing though, my fuel economy is going to suffer...... But hey, that's the trade-off for getting what we all want from this bike.... The mechanic was installing the Turbo on a customers bike. I just happened to stop by to get my oil changed on my Honda Wave when he was just finishing up on the installation. When he road off on it for a test ride, it went so fast I thought the pavement was peeling up behind him... Not really, but I'm sure you get the feeling on what I saw. I've never seen the bike since, so no telling where it went to and this was like 7 years ago......

Fast Eddie! Long time listener, first time caller.....I am modding out my own CT125 and your vids have been an inspiration and reference point for most of my choices. This is the video I have been waiting for......I have been thinking about swapping the cam and flashing the ecu but was waiting to see if you took the plunge first :D Did you happen to grab the part # for the new cam? And did your mechanic use an off the shelf EMS / ECU or something proprietary to him? Fantastic job on the bike! Sounds and runs like the devil it is!
I have the receipt from the work he did and it lists the parts and prices on it. Sadly, it's in Thai and I can't read Thai, but I am going to have it all translated so I can put it on a video. I also have still pictures of some of the work as they were doing it. All of this will be on a future video, soon, I promise. I still need to do some rides on the trails to see how it performs......
Very cool Eddie, sounds great and it's visually obvious it has much more torque and power. Almost wondering why I bought a 300L now! I think you've convinced me to keep mine, at some point these upgrades with be plug and play stateside and I will take the plunge. I'd be happy with half that much gain at this point. Are those the YSS shocks in the rear?
Glad to see you will keep the little CT. I do believe the stock engine with the camshaft and re-mapped ECU would be an immediate help for the bike. I kind of wish I would have done that first. I might not have done the BBK then. No, they are a set of Diablo shocks from K-speed. I like them very much and there are lots of adjustment clicks on the dampening, so it's easy to get that feeling in the back of the bike that you desire. I've got the front YSS system working pretty good now with the stock springs back in and the adding more oil has almost completely stopped the clunking noise. I've got to hit a rut extremely hard to get any hint of the noise. I'm thinking adding another cap full of oil in each fork. Keep the 300L, good for those longer road rides. My Triumph is suck a great bike for long road trips, I'll never get rid of it or the CT..... Thanks for the comment and keep riding the CT with quality information that all of us can learn from.... If you hadn't mentioned the spring change, I would never of tried it......
I love your channel. I've been riding a 1972 C100 for years and just picked up a Trail 125 ABS, I want to pick up a different exhaust like the one you replaced the Diablo with. I couldn't recall if you said you got it on Web!ke or not. Did you ever list the name of that exhaust? BTW I did get those tires you recommended, very nice. Take care,. Ride it like you stole it
Thanks for the compliment, as for the exhaust system, it is a special order pipe built to specs by a shop here in Thailand called Murazaki Shop. They do have a Facebook page and if you contact them through the Facebook site, they may ship a pipe to you. I don't know for sure or not if they will, but that is the only way right now that you may possibly get one unless you take a trip over here. One of my subscribers did just that and got his Big Bore Kit for his CT. Keep watching the channel, we are riding at least once a week now and trying to keep up with editing of these rides......

The speed you're getting is really impressive for this machine. I'm watching the speedo and listening to what you're saying about it. I think I heard you say at one point you felt it could with the right sprocket or gearing adjustment, it could reach 120 kph with ease. Is this primarily because of the big-bore kit, or something else you might have done to it? I ask because my wife is in love with the Super Cub which I think shares this engine, to the point where she wants to tour with it. The Super Cub seems to be able to manage about 90-95 kph but it doesn't seem very comfortable or sustainable at that speed. Do you believe that with a big bore kit it might be able to cruise happily at 100 kph?
In stock form neither of these bikes will cruise comfortably above 90 KPH, but the 75 to 85 KPH range is comfortable for these bikes. The only problem with the BBK or the Cam/ECU job is they create some fairly high heat and if you run the real high speeds for too long, it will get too HOT on you. I'd still cruise around the 80 to 85 KPH and do that and keep an eye on the engines heat. If need be, stop and let her cool down.......
@@TeamDNFracing Yes, in stock form 90 kph feels very bad on this platform. I don't expect that it's even possible to truly go touring on a 125cc unless it's short hops over back roads. Obviously, 400-500 km a day is no trouble in a world where there's no other traffic. As it stands I think 250 km is probably more reasonable... Ah well, maybe there's a 250 cc in her future. Anyway, I love to see these videos. Watching you ride this thing down those back roads out there reminds me of riding an old farm bike through country roads in my youth.
Love the videos! As you mentioned in earlier videos there's a lot of information about small engine bikes in asian and not as much in english. Been looking up what people do with their hondas and noticed noone makes a list of mods they did from start to finish. Not to mention some of the parts and the CT125 itself is hard to get in Europe. Is there any chance you might make the list of mods (performance vise)? Also would it be possible to order a bike from Thai and get it sent to Europe already modded? Thanks and keep up!
I did a video with the list of modifications I did to my bike, it's been a while so I need to do an update as it has changed quite a bit since then. As for ordering a bike here in Thailand, and then having it modified and then shipped to you in Europe. I don't thing there is a shop that will do it. It would be very expensive to ship it out of Thailand for a trip to Europe. However, you might make vacation trip here and buy one, go to a local shop and have all the items you want installed and then ride it back to Europe. I did a video with a subscriber named Jonny Mac and he did a vacation trip here, bought a bike, rode it all over Thailand and then dropped it off with his cousin who lives in Southern Thailand and plans on coming back later this year to ride it back to Ireland........
@@TeamDNFracing I remember the list you’ve made problem is as there were lot of different parts ordering the same as you got is quite troublesome 😦 found a website that sells the parts such as big bore kit from japan so got confused if they’re the same. As for holidays that is a nice suggestion though should be planned ahead. Wanted to get the ct125 as a daily driver and for summer adventures haha
I'm truly impressed, it sounded more like a 4 stroke 250 dirt bike, IMHO. an the performance was just wow, but out of curiosity with all the upgrades you've done including the ECM, what would you guesstimate the cost is in USD. Thx for the vid, an BTW, this is more of the performance range I'm thinking about, but I'm a bigger guy, like 250 lbs an old guy to boot. Still can't get the old 2 stroke crack the throttle response out of my blood tho, an this is really close.
I will do a cost Analysis on the entire bike in a future video, but for this upgrade, it was around $180 US. Now that is expensive for here, but so much cheaper than you would pay in the US for the same work. My guess as of now on the bike, I've still got less in my bike than most of the people in the US paid out the door for their bike new......

@@williammccaslin8527 Amazing how they are getting away with all the add ons in the US. Here in Thailand MSRP is 86,000 Thai Baht, about $2,600 US and they don't add anything to it.... You pay 86,000 Baht, no more.......
I would have to say there is probably a 20% loss in fuel economy. Don't quote me on that, I'm just going by the mileage I put on a tank of gas from before I took it in to the mechanic and when I got it back and took to fill up with gas. I normally would get over 200 Kilometers on a tank of gas and was setting around 175 Kilometers when I filled it up. I don't know how much of that was prior to the work and how much of it was after the work, so the 20% is a guess right now. I'm definitely going to let it be know how it effects the economy as there are a lot of people that really want the great fuel economy over the power increase......
I'm really liking the new seat as it provides me with more room to scoot around on the bike. It seems comfortable enough for me but I've not gotten a good 5 hour ride on it yet, so I'll report on that after I get a nice long ride on it.... I'm 5'8" tall and it does set up a bit taller than the stock seat does. I can still easily touch the ground it feels like it should for the size of the bike..... I personally like the new seat, it will take a few more rides to see if it gives me the sore butt that a long ride on the stock seat would do......
@@jayroth6110 I can tell you it is much more roomier than the stock seat and surprisingly, it sticks out the front a couple inches further than the stock seat. It is more cushy also, but I need a long ride off pavement to verify that part for sure......
No oil cooler, for some reason, my bike seems to not run very hot. As long as I keep moving forward and don't hit the throttle hard, it stays cool enough to put my hand on it...... Fingers crossed it doesn't change.....
Oh Tony, this little modification really livened up the inner beast in the bike. Probably should have done this a long time ago. I'm going to be hitting the trails solo to see just how well it really does perform..... My guess, pretty damned well is how.......
I can hear that the engine has more power now and is more responsive and fun to drive. But it has drawbacks too. Backfires and poor idling. And most likely lots of exhaust emissions. Can your friends make it more refined?
We will work on the back firing with better air intake which I have the new part on order for that. The idling is spot on for what has been done. The new camshaft is why the engine sets and hunts at idle. High performance sounds just like that. Watch a dragster at an NHRA event and at idle it hunts, brapp ,,,,,,, brapp ,,,,,,,, brapp ,,,,,,,, brapp. This is being caused by the offset of the lobs on the camshaft. This is also what allows the opening of the valves to maximize the combustion of the gasses. As for emissions, once we get the back firing eliminated, it will burn the gasses efficiently, should be able to pass emission tests.......
Yep! Not really, it is what my Thai wife and I have been working on the past 8 years. When she showed me the property, which she already owned, she asked me if I could see myself living here. Being a country boy from Oklahoma, I immediately said yes.... A year later, we started building on the land. A little here, a little there and it is what it is today. Daniel suggested I do a walk around of our property for my next video intro. If my wife Fon didn't work so hard on this place, it wouldn't be what it is. Be sure to watch for it in a future video.......
I've got to ask, what is an RTW bike? My guess is, Rock The World bike. That pretty much describes my bike right there, it is awesome to ride....... Soon we'll be making an even better bike, the "Hulk" is coming soon.........

I've got a Triumph street twin 900HT if I ever want to go fast on paved roads. My CT is strictly for the trails and being an elderly man of extremely short stature, I need a dirt bike with a seat that isn't putting my head close to the clouds. My days of blitzing the trails of Colorado and Wyoming are long past, don't need to go that fast, just faster than what a stock Honda CT goes..... No offense taken on the comment, I've received multiple comments suggesting anything from a Yamaha TW200 to an Africa Twin. I'm not as strong as I used to be and my balance requires me to walk carefully because once I fall down, I look for stuff on the ground that I might need sometime in the future so I don't have to get down there any time soon. I really do love this bike, it is so much fun to ride and being as nimble as it is, it fits me very well. As for the amount of money I've spent on it, way less than if I'd of been in the US. Matter of fact, I don't believe I could have done most of this if I still lived in the US, simply because of the price....Besides, it gives me material for my RUclips videos....... I looked at the video and it is for a Honda Cub 125. Is this the bike you are wanting it for? I also tried to google up the manufacturer of this rack system and got nothing. Sorry, I have no idea about this rack.......

Named it that for all the Diablo parts I had installed at the time. I've taken the Diablo exhaust off since then, but the name is going to stick.....

Obviously, 400-500 km a day is no trouble in a world where there's no other traffic. As it stands I think 250 km is probably more reasonable... Ah well, maybe there's a 250 cc in her future. Anyway, I love to see these videos. Watching you ride this thing down those back roads out there reminds me of riding an old farm bike through country roads in my youth.

As you mentioned in earlier videos there's a lot of information about small engine bikes in asian and not as much in english. Been looking up what people do with their hondas and noticed noone makes a list of mods they did from start to finish. Not to mention some of the parts and the CT125 itself is hard to get in Europe. Is there any chance you might make the list of mods (performance vise)? Also would it be possible to order a bike from Thai and get it sent to Europe already modded?

I did a video with the list of modifications I did to my bike, it's been a while so I need to do an update as it has changed quite a bit since then. As for ordering a bike here in Thailand, and then having it modified and then shipped to you in Europe. I don't thing there is a shop that will do it. It would be very expensive to ship it out of Thailand for a trip to Europe. However, you might make vacation trip here and buy one, go to a local shop and have all the items you want installed and then ride it back to Europe. I did a video with a subscriber named Jonny Mac and he did a vacation trip here, bought a bike, rode it all over Thailand and then dropped it off with his cousin who lives in Southern Thailand and plans on coming back later this year to ride it back to Ireland........
@@TeamDNFracing I remember the list you’ve made problem is as there were lot of different parts ordering the same as you got is quite troublesome 😦 found a website that sells the parts such as big bore kit from japan so got confused if they’re the same.
As for holidays that is a nice suggestion though should be planned ahead. Wanted to get the ct125 as a daily driver and for summer adventures haha
I'm truly impressed, it sounded more like a 4 stroke 250 dirt bike, IMHO. an the performance was just wow, but out of curiosity with all the upgrades you've done including the ECM, what would you guesstimate the cost is in USD. Thx for the vid, an BTW, this is more of the performance range I'm thinking about, but I'm a bigger guy, like 250 lbs an old guy to boot. Still can't get the old 2 stroke crack the throttle response out of my blood tho, an this is really close.
I will do a cost Analysis on the entire bike in a future video, but for this upgrade, it was around $180 US. Now that is expensive for here, but so much cheaper than you would pay in the US for the same work. My guess as of now on the bike, I've still got less in my bike than most of the people in the US paid out the door for their bike new......
@@TeamDNFracing looking foward to that vid, an yes some of my local dealers have them in stock now, but they are going for. $ 3800.00 now msrp, not including tax, registration, etc, etc. When your done with all of the fees, your looking at $4400.00 USD , an they still only have them in red, ugh. Really want the safari green, but may buy the red an do a wrap on it, dont know yet, thinking about it, hmmm.
@@williammccaslin8527 Amazing how they are getting away with all the add ons in the US. Here in Thailand MSRP is 86,000 Thai Baht, about $2,600 US and they don't add anything to it.... You pay 86,000 Baht, no more.......
In the present state of tune and configuration how do you think the fuel consumption compares with a standard bike?
I would have to say there is probably a 20% loss in fuel economy. Don't quote me on that, I'm just going by the mileage I put on a tank of gas from before I took it in to the mechanic and when I got it back and took to fill up with gas. I normally would get over 200 Kilometers on a tank of gas and was setting around 175 Kilometers when I filled it up. I don't know how much of that was prior to the work and how much of it was after the work, so the 20% is a guess right now. I'm definitely going to let it be know how it effects the economy as there are a lot of people that really want the great fuel economy over the power increase......
how are you liking the new seat? is the added height a problem? how tall are you? isit more comfortable?
I'm really liking the new seat as it provides me with more room to scoot around on the bike. It seems comfortable enough for me but I've not gotten a good 5 hour ride on it yet, so I'll report on that after I get a nice long ride on it.... I'm 5'8" tall and it does set up a bit taller than the stock seat does. I can still easily touch the ground it feels like it should for the size of the bike..... I personally like the new seat, it will take a few more rides to see if it gives me the sore butt that a long ride on the stock seat would do......

@@jayroth6110 I can tell you it is much more roomier than the stock seat and surprisingly, it sticks out the front a couple inches further than the stock seat. It is more cushy also, but I need a long ride off pavement to verify that part for sure......
Oil cooler next?
No oil cooler, for some reason, my bike seems to not run very hot. As long as I keep moving forward and don't hit the throttle hard, it stays cool enough to put my hand on it...... Fingers crossed it doesn't change.....

Oh Tony, this little modification really livened up the inner beast in the bike. Probably should have done this a long time ago. I'm going to be hitting the trails solo to see just how well it really does perform..... My guess, pretty damned well is how.......
I can hear that the engine has more power now and is more responsive and fun to drive. But it has drawbacks too. Backfires and poor idling. And most likely lots of exhaust emissions. Can your friends make it more refined?
We will work on the back firing with better air intake which I have the new part on order for that. The idling is spot on for what has been done. The new camshaft is why the engine sets and hunts at idle. High performance sounds just like that. Watch a dragster at an NHRA event and at idle it hunts, brapp ,,,,,,, brapp ,,,,,,,, brapp ,,,,,,,, brapp. This is being caused by the offset of the lobs on the camshaft. This is also what allows the opening of the valves to maximize the combustion of the gasses. As for emissions, once we get the back firing eliminated, it will burn the gasses efficiently, should be able to pass emission tests.......

Yep! Not really, it is what my Thai wife and I have been working on the past 8 years. When she showed me the property, which she already owned, she asked me if I could see myself living here. Being a country boy from Oklahoma, I immediately said yes.... A year later, we started building on the land. A little here, a little there and it is what it is today. Daniel suggested I do a walk around of our property for my next video intro. If my wife Fon didn't work so hard on this place, it wouldn't be what it is. Be sure to watch for it in a future video.......

I've got to ask, what is an RTW bike? My guess is, Rock The World bike. That pretty much describes my bike right there, it is awesome to ride....... Soon we'll be making an even better bike, the "Hulk" is coming soon.........

I've got a Triumph street twin 900HT if I ever want to go fast on paved roads. My CT is strictly for the trails and being an elderly man of extremely short stature, I need a dirt bike with a seat that isn't putting my head close to the clouds. My days of blitzing the trails of Colorado and Wyoming are long past, don't need to go that fast, just faster than what a stock Honda CT goes..... No offense taken on the comment, I've received multiple comments suggesting anything from a Yamaha TW200 to an Africa Twin. I'm not as strong as I used to be and my balance requires me to walk carefully because once I fall down, I look for stuff on the ground that I might need sometime in the future so I don't have to get down there any time soon. I really do love this bike, it is so much fun to ride and being as nimble as it is, it fits me very well. As for the amount of money I've spent on it, way less than if I'd of been in the US. Matter of fact, I don't believe I could have done most of this if I still lived in the US, simply because of the price....Besides, it gives me material for my RUclips videos....... Thanks for the comment, always welcome..... Oh yea, I'll get rid of most of the back firing with my next modification.....

I looked at the video and it is for a Honda Cub 125. Is this the bike you are wanting it for? I also tried to google up the manufacturer of this rack system and got nothing. Sorry, I have no idea about this rack.......
