Hey Dawn! It's an " Act of God," that you and your family aren't injured and still alive. 🙏
Thank you
A great message about validation the boyfriend said. I call these situations ‘God Pauses’ meaning we are taken out of our normal routines. We pause to rest, regroup, rethink what we are doing. It is a blessing. I’ve had many of these times in my 75 years.
You rested. That’s great! I loved Lucy tv shows growing up! Fun!
Happy your family is ok and you had no structural damage to your home.
I’m oraying for the storm areas all over the USA. Stalwart
Thank you so very much for carrying so much
So happy to hear y'all are OK and no significant damage to your property. For the 13 years I lived in Texas, I don't recall we ever had weather like what has been happening in the past few years. Thanks for sharing, Have a Blessed day.
Thank you dear
I’m so glad to see you back, my sweet friend. Your daughter’s boyfriend sounds like a great guy. Well said. ❤
He is wonderful
Thank God you and your family are alright! It's good to hear that you're safe and your home is alright. You are such a kind, caring person. Praying others get their power back on soon and don't have any problems. 🙏
Nice Dawn, you seem way calmer today in your video. Glad you are all safe and your message was so needed, we all need to be validated, loved and appreciated. Hugs to you💕😘
Thank you much
Smart and emotionally mature young man!
I agree
Coming to this channel is like getting a warm hug on a rainy day while getting served warm chocolate chip cookies! Love you money mom! Really needed to hear this message too
This is one of the best comments I received
Message received! Sometimes I need to be reminded I matter ❤. So thankful you and your loved ones are well.
I'm PRAYING FOR ALL OF YOU!!! You continue to amaze me with your caring spirit for others!!! You have a beautiful gift of caring. Enjoy the Lucy Shows. I LOVE LUCY too😍😍😍
I love you
So glad you took those trees out this past year and that you are ok.
You are an encourager + a blessing. I'm sure many are blessed+ needed your words today!
Thank you for this message, ya'll are in my prayers.
Dawn, I am so happy you are all doing well. Much love. I'm glad you are taking good care of yourself, as well as everyone else. This is a very lovely video.
Thank you love
Oh my, I’m glad you’re ok. My mom is in assisted living up there and they were without power for around 15 hours. They used their backup to keep the patients’ oxygen on. Scary!!
oh wow, scary
God bless you Dawn! ❤ You're important to me! 😊
Thank you my friend
I had heard about the storm in Dallas & thought of you.
Very true, what your daughter’s boyfriend said. Glad you passed it on 🙂
Thanks for update!
Thank you
Glad that you are safe.
What a wonderful message! We're blessed to have you on RUclips. Caroline's boyfriend, soon to be fiancé we hope, is a wise young man. I'm so glad you don't have any permanent damage. My mother lives in Irving and never lost power. My niece lives about 5 miles from her in the same town and is still without power. We're in Memphis right now and have had some ferocious thunderstorms, but nothing like Arkansas, Kentucky, and Texas. Forgive me if you've had storms in your area and I didn't mention your state. We're in a little bubble right now caring for my sister-in-law. She's not able to get up from a chair or hold herself up to use a walker. We're learning how to help her and keep her comfortable. Hopefully, physical therapy will come soon to help her get stronger. Great video! Love to all, Linda 💕
Dear Linda, I am praying for you and your sister-in-law - right now. May Our Father guide you all in these activities toward health and strength./Pat
Glad you're safe.
@@oldegoatee8450 Pat, Thank you so much. We're learning every day as we laugh about our efforts. I'm so glad we can laugh about this. ❤️
@suecook8379 Thank you, Sue. How are you doing? Any news on the job hunt? Still praying! ❤️
Oh, Linda. Praying for your family, and especially your SIL. These situations are very frightening for the patient. * I found this book recently (RUclips exercise Channel for seniors, called: Front row with Ed and Elizabeth). Book: 10-Minute Strength Training Exercises for Seniors: Exercises and Routines to Build Muscle, Balance, and Stamina This is a book designed to keep older people well enough to stay in their own home. It might help. $10 Amz. Philia.
Prayers for everyone who was affected, that young man is very wise, our emotions and feelings count too, good lesson for us to learn from that generation, we're allowed to acknowledge that our feelings are just as important as others.
Thank you so much
I was wondering how you were doing. Glad to hear everything is OK.
Thank you
Happy to hear you are safe 🙏
What a nice message that we ALL matter. And thank goodness you and your family are o.k. I’ll say a prayer for families that are hurting. ❤️
You are so sweet
So glad you are all well. All our feelings matter and it is ok to admit your feelings. We all love you and support you. Prayers for those who suffered damages and outages. 🙏🙏
You are so kind. Thank you
I'm glad you're safe and have power. Nice gratitude vid too.
Glad that you are ok
😱 I know there was a storm down there, but I had no idea it was that bad. So glad y’all are safe. I don’t watch the news 🤷♀️, I guess I’m out of touch.
I don't watch the news either. I do see headlines when I search Google, and I'll click on something that interests me.
Glad you and your family are ok.
You reminded me of Superstorm Sandy up here. We were without electric for four days at the end of Oct. I work in an office at our hospital. I still went in because of the generators. Came home and we had dry ice and enough canned or jar food to get by. I brought home cafeteria food one or two times. I just remember we burrowed in the blankets and got by. But life did slow down. It was weird but we made due in tune with nature. I remember getting up a bit earlier and going to bed a bit earlier. It was nice. There’s part of the situation that made me anxious (I have severe ringing in my ears and it was deafening) but in most ways I had a feeling of accomplishment. You seem to be handling it with much grace and your daughter’s boyfriend seems wise beyond his years. He sounds like an “old soul”. Many blessings to everyone
When you go through something like that, you feel like a survivor. I was so proud of the way we thought of ways to make it through having no electricity. This was after a hurricane, and we were without power for 9 days! I never want to be without air conditioning again! We bought a whole-house generator after that, lol! Worth every penny!
@@3TXSisters
The weather is getting very unpredictable and I’m working on getting a generator too. I consider it money well spent. Good move on your part!
You are such a loving and kind person
very smart
Glad you’re safe…
Glad to hear from you. I was wondering about how you were. Happy you are ok.
What a lovely and loving message, Dawn. Thank you. Am so grateful you’re all ok.🙋♀️🥰💖
You are so welcome
I’m so glad you’re safe, and thank you for your very kind words to all of us ❤
Thank you so much
I'm so glad you put out this message to encourage others to stay connected. Naps, rule! Take as many as possible.
It's been so nice and cool in Cincinnati all week, even my cats are getting in bed with me, and I'm wearing flannel 🙃.
How nice
Ao glad that you and your family are okay. Very frightening. Losing electricity and ohones can be devastating. I got a generater abour three years ago. Hope when we have an emergency 🦺 I xan figure it out. Got it to cover freezer and my CPAP machine. God Bless you Dawn. Lots od love 💕 from Debbie 🙋🧑🦽 and Dexter-Dog 🐕🐾 my sweet tiny rescued Chihuahua companion living 🏠🌴 in southern California.🙏🙏🙏
I'm glad you have a generator for your freezer and CPAP! Take care, Linda 🦋
You are so right
We had severe storms in Missouri too. Lots of trees down. We lost power for 10 hours and we are lucky, our neighbor had a tree that took out the power line to their house and they expect to be without power for 3 weeks. Take care Dawn.
Wow. That is a long time
Ah Dawn what a lovely message that was. So sorry to hear about your dreadful storms. Sending love and prayers to those affected and to you and your family, from here in England.
You are so sweet
Amen. I learned that lesson. People will try gaslight you, but no one can tell you how to feel. Those are your feelings. The Bible talks about being encouraging to others, not condemning or judgemental. Glad you are safe!
Thank you love
The world needs more Dawn’s ❤
I am a lot to handle
@@CentsibleLivingWithMoneyMom 😂😂you kind and compassionate and that is definitely what this world needs now 🌺
ThanknGod your all safe sending love prayers
You are so sweet
Been thinking about ya'll guys. I did ok but I'm west Houston metro. North, Houston and east took big hits. It's good that you managed to rest and relax some!
Very happy to hear you and your family are safe! Also, nothing wrong with taking time to rest and relax! Can't beat the old Sitcoms. Whenever, I feel like relaxing or feeling a little down...I binge on the Mary Tyler Moore Show or Rhoda.
Love those shows
I was in Plano when a little before 6AM, all let loose. I was sitting in the parking lot of Walmart. I was waiting for the store to open. Suddenly sheets of rain and hail came down. The lights of the store and parking lot flickered on and off. The 5th time they went off, they never came back on. The store stayed closed all day. They had problems with their generator and had to throw out a great deal of their perishable food in the refrigerator and freezer. I went up Parkwood to get my hair cut and the car
in front of me drove into what was about a yard of standing water. There wasn't a lot of traffic, so I drove my car in reverse. I drove my car back to Grand Prairie where I live. About half the traffic lights were off and there were 4 or 5 trees down on Josey Lane. When I got home in Grand Prairie, there wasn't a lot of damage. It had just rained heavily here. (Why was in Plano? My hairstylist I have gone to for almost 30 years moved up there from Dallas about 10 years ago)
I am so glad you are safe.
I was thinking about you and praying for you and your family, and your area, that you'd be spared any damaging effects of the weather.
Sounds to me like Caroline has picked a true gem of a boyfriend. He sounds like he has more wisdom than his age normally has. Maybe he's an old soul.😊
You're ALWAYS an encouragement to us!! ALWAYS!!! We love you, too. 😊❤
Thank you so much! You are so sweet
Thank you Dawn. You are such a kind woman
You are sweet
Dawn, we also went through something similar here in Houston. Our section of the city (and many other sections) were without power for several days. And after they finally got the power back on, another storm knocked it out again, but the second time was only for several hours thank goodness before it came back on. We were like you are in that thank goodness there was no damage to our house though. Many people weren't so lucky though (as also in the Dallas area I'm sure).
I am so sorry 😞
@@CentsibleLivingWithMoneyMom Thank you. I'm also sorry for everyone else that suffered through all of these storms Texas has been seeing lately. ❤
Texas has been slammed this year. We left Houston just before all the storms started. We were there for 6 weeks for my husband's treatment.
@@3TXSisters 👍 I'm glad you were able to leave before the storms hit!
@Sheryl777 Yes, we were downtown and I think it flooded.
Thanks for sharing, Dawn...from a fellow area resident with a similar situation as yours...thankful also to have electric power restored 😊
So true!
So glad y'all came through it without damage! My son in Garland did, too. He said the worst of the damage was just north of him. Power was out, but they were safe.
Oh good
Wonderful Message Dawn.. Very Relevant .. Blessings from Australia 🇦🇺 Xx
You are so welcome
You are such a blessing, Dawn! 💜 I love you! 🥰
love you too
Beautiful message. Glad you and your family are doing well ❤😊
Thanks so much
That sounds like quite the storm, I'm glad you guys came through it ok and you're 'almost' back up and running.
I agree that all feelings are valid, good advice from your daughter's boyfriend.
I think what people often do is put things into perspective, such as when one loses power for 24 hours and then they hear a tree came down on someone's house, they tend to think, 'ok, things could be worse'.
I think it's human nature to think that way - but that doesn't mean that what you feel, and are going through, are not valid feelings.
Sometimes I'm a 'it could be worse' type of person, but that helps me get through my moment of issues.
Please note, I wrote 'sometimes' because sometimes I'm not ....because I'm the house that the tree fell on.
Thank you for being encouraging
Thank you
You're welcome
I'm so pleased that you are all safe and well. Your message at the end of the video is so thoughtful and very true. Best wishes, Julia in the UK xx
Thank you much
I live in Dallas too, and in My financial situación the last thing I need is for a tree to fall on my house
How are you?
Thanks!
You are s loving and generous. How sweet. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing… I needed to hear this.
Thank you
Well,at least now that tree is not a factor anymore.
So, that's good
So glad you are okay!
Thank you
Your daughter needs to keep that young man. He sounds special. If it doesn't work out with them, you marry him!😅💜
Dawn is already married! 😂
@larmstrong2302 I know, I was just kidding. He's a keeper though.😊
Stay safe!
I'm glad that all of you are alright. You never know when something is going to happen. ❤
We had 80 mph winds in Lewisville...some still no electricity. Mine flickered twice and came back on right away. It's been a rough week with stories of death and damage 💔. These stories affect empaths. It's as if it happened to me. 😢
You are so right
Yes, I know what you mean. I tend to compare my problems with, say, a refugee Syrian woman living in a tent with no facilities and a weak bladder when my own bladder gives me the blues. It does help to bring things into perspective; however it doesn't get rid of my problem. I need to pray for myself as well!
I have movies and books downloaded on my iPads which I use when power and/or internet goes out. iPads have long battery life so I have several hours before I need a source of electricity. Our internet service went down this week due to a water main break and was off all day. Had to go into the office to work. It was more annoying than anything. Power outages and storms like yours occur often where I am so more of an annoyance. Are these events rare where others are from? Power outages are only a concern during winter when the pipes could freeze. It would take probably 72 hours of no electricity before it would become a concern
You have more storms heading your way for tomorrow.
yeah
Glad you and your family are ok.
So glad you are safe. The whole month of May has been chaotic for our town outside of Houston. We began the month with floods and closed it out with tornados. Lots of down trees and power outages all month. We are definitely learning real quick how to handle SHTF situations.
Yes, for sure
Stay Safe Everyone ❤️
❤
You can spend time worrying, fretting, complaining about everything, but does it change anything?
no, it does not
Aren’t you glad it wasn’t really hot!
oh yeah
Dawn, just to let you know, Jackery is running a special for this weekend only on a new product that they are carrying called a 1000 v2 generator with a 200 watt solar panel. I can't recommend it as it is new and I had purchased and used their 1000 plus during our Houston power outage on my daughter's fridge. I am waiting for them to answer some questions before my daughter purchases one for her home. The V2 is much cheaper than my purchase coming in at $900 this weekend only ($400 off). I paid $1287 for my 1000 plus. Since you have a following, maybe you can contact them to be a user and post your results with the new device. Mine came with 2- 100 watt solar panels and this one comes with 1 - 200 watt solar panel. Jackery has a comparison page where you can look at a spreadsheet to see the different amenities of each product. As I said, I can't recommend, but since we had previously dialogued about my using a Jackery, I thought I would share the info. The 200 watt solar panel sells for $499 by itself. Have a great weekend. Stay safe.
Thank you
what about a backup power source MM?
I am looking into that
What are your thoughts about a back up solar power station ? The preppers make me want to buy a power station but we very rarely have a power outage. And it would probably cost me $1000 dollars. Not a good investment for me. Have you ever considered a back up power station ? I think having a good supply of food and water is a better idea.
You mean a generator? I wish we had one. My son has 2. It would be worth the money if we had it.
@@GrannyLinn I am talking about a portable solar powered generator for some power. Not the whole house. And not noisy gas powered. I found a nice solar one on amazon but the cost is not a good investment because we rarely have power outages.
We bought a whole house natural gas generator. It's been wonderful. You can buy smaller gas-powered generators that will run a small window air conditioner and some appliances. We sent one to our son in Texas when they had snowageddon. He really appreciated having one. He had one installed in his new house. I think it's worth it to have a propane or gas-powered one. The solar-powered don't seem to be as reliable and are much more expensive.
Live in an apartment. Not going to be able, probably to recharge with solar. Have a portable deck light with an on-off function. A plug in portable nightlight-flashlight combo. Would like two electric generators to port out with me if needed in an evacuation. Right now, during summertime peak hours, be nice to charge my cellphone and run a fan or two when it gets very hot and electric rates go up. Can charge at night. During the night, I can charge one at cheapest rates and work off one. To recharge or work off solar panels, for me even if portable is a great idea, if one can do it. My apartment small porch area might accommodate the four daily tides wind power through charging the batteries of a smaller, camping sized windmill.
@@jennyeagan1840 If you just need it for charging, a small solar-powered generator would be perfect. We have one that we take on trips with us. You just never know when you'll need it!
Your daughter's
boyfriend is certainly a "keeper" ! Lets give him a name..even if just a "stage" name
His name is Danny
Was you landline phone working? I know you said you keep it just for situations like this.
No, because it is off the cable line
Stay safe!
