I love this feature. Who would have thought that you could do this at home? I know I have seen covered buttons but never knew how they were done. These add so much to the projects. Thanks for showing us how to make them.
Thank you for showing the fussy part of getting the fabric onto the cover. I have used a small quilting ruler and put it onto the button assembly and leaned on it until it snaps into place-I don’t have a tiny hammer. As always enjoy your channel. Also loved the hearts polished onto your 3 fingers. ❤😊
Nichol, Your cross stitch covered buttons are absolutely adorable--I just love them! I used to make them once in a while with fabric to match my project but I haven't made one for a few years so I very much appreciate your tutorial.
Absolutely love this video! I learn so much from you and you make things seem so easy. Can't tell you how much I appreciate your videos, love everything about them. So encouraging and just so helpful. I am a fan!
Thank you so much ! Just ordered me a few packs from Michaels. Yes, thanks to you, I'm inspired. I appreciate you sooooo much. Thank you so very much for what you bring to our community. You're the best!! Have a lovely day.
Those are the best! Very inspiring. I love the fact that it's just a few stitches so not terribly time consuming to make. I remember making covered buttons back in the day for garment sewing. Haven't made a covered button in a LOT of years.
I haven't made a covered button in ages - and I love these! I've used fancy fabric but not counted cross stitch so that's my new goal. I love your tutorials and each one inspires me! Thank you so much Nichol - you are wonderful!!!
Another great tudorial I actually had a package of these buttons in my sewing box. In the late 60s and early 70s I made all my own clothes and would cover my buttons. the saying "what's old is new again" is playing in my head. I will be watching for small motifs now in my pattern's FQS Love Potion has several
Another amazing tutorial fron you Nichol🥰🥰 all the buttons are so cute and you give so much inspiration. Now i want to make all the buttons😂 you always brighten my day even on a not so fun day, so thank you for everything you do
These are SO CUTE!! I'm behind on my floss tubes so I'm going backwards -- I bet there's a reason you showed this tutorial! :) And I found the next SAL in my LNS -- it was one of the models! And they had the sulky in a tube so I just got that. I thought I had fabric at home, but I think I may go back for something darker than what I have at home.... We'll see, but I'm ready!
Great tutorial! I have all of my late mother’s sewing and craft supplies. There are some of those button kits, and I had no idea what to make with them or how to use them. Now I know! Thank you!
This is a great video. These kits work the best. I have been using these kits since my sewing/clothing tailoring class in college. They have improved over the last 40+ years. The base use to be white not clear so you couldn’t see that the object was centered. Also when hammering if you hammer too hard,it’s easy to have one side of the back deeper than the other side.
Thank you for this tutorial. I’ve put off doing buttons because I thought they were to hard. I now know it’s not a one n done thing & that I kept having to redo it over & over can be a normal thing 🙂
Thanks for sharing this tutorial. I had a gift card to Joann’s and went immediately to buy the button kits! Side note: I am from your neck of the woods and live in the same town as the Craft House. 😊
Good Morning! Thank you so much for doing this tutorial! I have a couple different sizes of the button kits already and now I can't wait to get started!😍😍
After making hundreds of buttons for kid's craft projects at work, I can definitely do this! We had the hand press machine tho, is there something similar for fabric buttons? Might be a handy tool for guilds to buy for members. 🤔
How cute are those buttons! Thank you so much for your tutorial and all your hard work that you put into your videos. They’re great, keep ‘em coming! ❤️
Nichol, I love these. I am so going to make those little rainbow hearts. Did you stitch the 36ct with 1 thread over 2? Haha, I have that Making Memories hamper and all the other tools 😊
QUESTION I know I hit the notification buttons on the upcoming SAL lives but didn't put them on my calendar and I want to make sure I'm home so I don't miss and I can't find them now. Could you please provide Thanks

If you put your fabric on a piece of sandpaper, it won’t move when you trace the circle with the Frixion pen.

When we were taught to cover buttons at school, we put a gathering stitch around the circumference so that the edges pull in neatly.

I now want to make ALL the buttons! :) Thanks for this video - so helpful! Hugs.

I have had a button cover kit for almost a year. You have encouraged me to get it out and use it. The cross stitch ones are the best! Thanks Nichol!
Thank you for this tutorial. I have a bunch of small pieces of miscellaneous fabrics which should be perfect for stitched buttons.
You could probably take a colored pencil & lightly color the antlers a tiny bit to darken them.
Love the buttons.
Thank you for the tutorial on covered buttons.
