- In this weekend vlog, I take you along as I make the most of my days off, indulging in some much-needed relaxation and enjoy the coziness that the autumn season brings and of course taking care of house chores. My weekend would not be complete without indulging in some treat and in this vlog we'll be baking pumpkin pie which has become one my favourite autumn treat. It's a wonderful day to live slowly and savour the little pleasures the weekend has to offer. I hope you enjoy this vlog 😘

Hi Amy, you are so right about autumn weather in Finland… lots of rain and windy too. I like making pumpkin pie filling (or any desserts and treats) from scratch because I can control what goes into it specially the amount of sugar! When it comes to enjoying a treat we consume it without thinking much about being “healthy” but if there’s a way to make it less “bad” then why not 😊

I guess it’s all relative. I just moved from California a year ago and omg the foods in Finland are so cheap. I spent about 700 euro on groceries here in Finland for a family of 3, eating good nutritious, organic and healthy. Salmon is 9 euro a kilo if you bought the whole salmon with head everything. In Cali that would be $35 a lb. Berries and wild mushrooms are much cheaper and can even pick it from the forest. A small cup of name brand yogurt is $4.50 vs 80 cents in Finland. 😅. You spent 35 euros on that much groceries? That’s very cheap, you can get 2 loaves of breads and one small pack of ham in the states for 35euro forget cucumbers, tomatoes, and bell peppers. Also don’t even think you can get fruits and kivi😅
Ah isn’t it nice here? Fresh organic healthy food far cheaper than in the US although I heard/read something differently but I haven’t been to the US so I can’t say much on that.

Hi, thank you for being here and for leaving an insightful feedback... I understand what you mean. My only explanation is that in Finland, even though there are many other decors and homeware brands available, we tend to be loyal to the local brands like Marimekko and Iittala. They are popular here and are very much loved that's why we end up buying the same things 🤭. Not everything I own belongs to those brands but in general, I love Scandinavian designs for it's clean and simplistic look 😊
