If I had a nickel for each time a youtube maker reinvented the hanger
You'd have a quarter, at least! 🤑
@@make.anythinglol which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened . . .
*Counts fingers
Speculate higher. A nickel isn’t that much.
If I had a Porsche every time a RUclips reinvented the hanger.
first simone now devin, i cant wait for the next hanger innovation
This is the second one for me with Simone being the first.
Have you considered inserting the coat hanger from the bottom
I came to the comments for this
................nope
He needs to create a problem to solve
I was initially going to suggest this as well, but I found it to be more of a workaround for an issue his coat hanger actually solved.
@@TaintedCamper for that sweet sweet membership cash
It'd be great to see a followup video in several months about which of these items you still use and which ones got replaced by traditional items.
Whatever you're smoking man.. keep smoking it. Those hangers? Genius. Those ribs in the vase mode? Never seen that technique before! I am thinking about making some 3d printed blinds.
Thanks! Lots of smoked onions and salmon these days ;)
It's actually a popular vase mode technique. I've been using it in my models for years.
@@polycrystallinecandy I'm sure, I've just never seen it before.
I'm going to give you a warning about printing blinds. It starts with really simple parts but as you go about creating the model you start thinking about making electric blinds and you have to start over to integrate the electronic parts.
Devin, you just get better and better. You never stop to amaze me. I love the new clean European feel of your videos.
......no stretching is required for normal hangers....... Just go through the bottom of the shirt......
I would rather stretch the nexk hole them fumble through the bottom when putting it on and taking it off the hanger
😂
...elipses are three dots
More dots=longer pause
Lrn2internet kiddo.
Trash bag sag: print another bracket and flat plate to put below it to provide bottom support as it gets filled. It’ll take the strain off of the captured bag rim, which is where it’s going to tear.
The coat hangers! Absolutely fabulous! Love your perspective on print in place too.
This was really missing a Manscaped ad :D
The hanger idea is genius! If that was a real product, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I too am too lazy to simply insert the hanger from underneath the shirt and prefer to do it through the collar. lol
Yo, fr why isnt that available? Its genius
The coat hanger is a dream come true. I airdry most of my clothes, and this makes hanging and releasing the garments so much easier.
As a homeowner, 3D printing has helped me immensely
Lots of creative designs, but the brush and pan was sublime! Now take a hike to Älmhult and sell it to Ikea before they steal it.
As soon as I saw the planters/vases, I thought they would look fantastic as lamp shades or to contain LEDs for a table light. And then you passed the light bulb through the orange one and it just emphasized the point.
Devin I just wanted to say you're by far my favorite 3d printing creator. I've been printing since 2016 and you've inspired me many times over the years. I love how creative you get and your designs are always a joy to print. My fiance just got a guitar and I immediately knew I had to print your guitar wall mount which led to be pulling off my first tpu print at home! Thanks for everything!
That's awesome, thanks for watching all these years :)
Not to be dramatic or anything but the coat hanger is a design marvel
The "fail/thready" lines in that one print remind me of Damascus steel patterns. It'll be really cool to see how you incorporate those with purpose, I like them a lot, they add visual texture with light reflecting on an already nicely textured piece.👍👍
You know you can insert the hanger through the bottom of your sweaters instead of stretching the necks out lol
Awesome projects! Maybe not the cheapest ways to get these things, but I love the care and attention you can put into all the little parts of a home when you build them yourself like this!
Thank you! I think the extra connection I have with these is worth the cost and effort :)
Welcome to Sweden, Devin 😍 Glad to have you here!
I thought I was the only person that was OCD about the sweaters and shirts being stretched on the necks. Thank you for the great models and video.
Your rant: I couldn't agree more! I've seen SO MANY designs that would be way easier and quicker to print if they were split in a couple of parts. Stronger, even.
This is GENUIS! My shirts need THIS! No stretching on my COLLARS! This saved me many DOLLARS! I gotta HOLLA
This was your best video yet! I really enjoyed the humor.
The magnets for the brush + the modular(ish) looking design, and modern design itself is crazy 😭
Amazing product honestly
4.4.24
Here here! Print-in-place has its benefits, but not as a cure-all. There are tons of advantages to multi-part prints!
I love the hangers, by the by. I LOVE your design! It's inventive, fun, and incredible functional.
He's BAAAAAACK! Well, in video, not person... GREAT DESIGNS!
Hey! Way to go on the BIG move!
Looks like you are settling in nicely. Thanks for sharing this fun video. 👍
Great video Devin! And congrats on the move. I love Sweden
Thank you! I'm loving it here :)
For vase mode, it works well to have the rib cuts form an X pattern. It ends up behaving a bit like an isogrid structure. There's a lot of potential for variations and decoration with this approach too.
That may be the better option for larger objects! I considered it for these as well but preferred the linear aesthetic and it proved to be strong enough.
Woah those defects do look amazing in that format and filament
That coat hanger design is actually really cool. I bet it'll be on AliExpress in no time. 😅
I made a vacuum attachment for my hair clippers so it sucks the hair straight before it goes into the clipper and then sucks it up as it’s cut. No mess. Been using it for over 10 years.
Good point, I totally need to make one of those.... once I have a vacuum hehe
the pleiades are beautiful.
Cool prints in Sweden, that will be interesting!!! Best of luck!
Amazing models! I want to print them all. I just wish I had a 3d printer.
I'm a little surprised at the pooh-pooh-ing here in the comments. Sure these ideas have been done, obviously. It says much more that the processes used, and the proven results, make your offerings uniquely outstanding. I'm not going out and buying your kit, but I can' t say you don't make it very tempting! You really know your stuff 👍👌👏
Id be super interested in how to do the ribbing in the modeling process❤❤
I think making a nozzle for the watering can would be pretty cool (although the laminar flow is quite mesmerizing)
3:16 adding information like this is vital to helping the community grow in the right direction. Why did that matching soap container make me feel at zen? lol.
Agreed as a beginner print in place is fun and satisfying but as I get more into it (in the props and toys phase) I find the assembly bit to be more fun often like a little puzzle
I remember when your channel was just that (no puzzles), I loved every video you made
bro that hanger design is way too cool to just be featured here.
"Securely holds my junk" is worth a subscribe lol
Lamp shades would be cool
Man I recently bought a Bambu P1S and been printing like mad. Leaving my Ender 3 and cr10 in the dust (quite litterally). I actually need more clothes hangers because mine are breaking one by one ... (they are from that famous Swedish store). I love being able to print my own and personalise them in the colors I want. I can also use them at Scouts when we go camping, just fold them up!
I really been loving your designs Devon, looking forward to more designs and prints from you. And have fun designing and making your home more personal
Super cool prints! Glad to see a non-April-Fool's video on the 1st!
Yeah - I designed my own watering can a while back and was impressed with the laminar flow. It's awesome.
one idea for getting the brush to drop all the gunk into the pan could be to make a comb like add-on on top of the pan where the handle are attached .. bwainfart ..
Totally! I wanted to make something like that in the past for my non-printed dustpans, so I just might :)
Exceptional! Truly inspiring the 3D Printing community! Thank you 👍🏻
haha. Man, you are fun to watch. Sweden?!
How about picture frames? I'm sure you could come up with some really artistic designs! Even art itself that you could frame!
Can’t wait to get a printer sometime to print my designs. Love the simple but useful designs you have.
Cone stick holder is awesome 😂
you are an amazing designer. one of the few that apply "form follows function" principle really well.
We have this saying that it's not a true polish household unless the trashcan is under the sink. Love the design and I might print those myself!
I love that folding hanger design. It's perfect for traveling during the wintertime or anywhere with a cold climate. Bulky jackets are a pain to deal with
3D-printed coat hangers are the best! Regular boring coat hangers also bring out the inner child, but in a different way.
Avoided this because it popped up on April Fools, glad I finally watched it. Really good ideas, I've already downloaded the hangar.
Wall hangings! What sorts of things would you like to see on the walls? Perhsps something inspired by Sweden's natural beauty?
3D printed curtains! That way you can dance with your hangers clothes on or off.
Add a serrated edge to the top lip of the dustpan to aid in cleaning the broom during use. You'll see it on many commercial ones.
I really enjoyed watching g this! I can tell there was a lot of time and effort into the quality of the video as well. Good job! I’m gonna try some of your prints
Awesome designs! Man add a shelf under the green and orange bags so the bottom of each bag is sitting on a small shelf :) that will take some of the pressure off the bag and prevent it from ripping without having to make anything large :) maybe even add a short lip to the shelf so the bag will definitely stay on it.
awesome. will have to print a few now 😀
All of these are so innovative and practical. I could really use a set of those hangers.
Fantastic creations
Hey! dont know if you know already, but the brown compost bags in the entrence or close to the checkout in most grocery stores are completely free, they are for food-waste and 100% recyclable. the garbage-station makes bio gas out of that. the plastic bags (even thought they say they are resyclable) dont break down in time for the station to process it into bio-gas. :-) not something you need to change. but it saves you money and your garbage man will be happy :)
I love how his logo moves to prevent burn in
Most of the time, I don't need to 3D print things, but when I do, it's extremely useful.
I don't know how I haven't run accross you before. I am subscribed to ~50 different 3D printing channels, but what I saw on yours today was truly amazing. I really look for functional prints (toys are nice but making things your need is 10x better) and you just knocked it out of the park over and over again.
I'm printing your free hanger right now in silver PETG, fingers crossed I got everything right. Is there any chance you will post the free designs to MakerWorld? That would simplify consumption of your models as well as drive up subscriptions to your RUclips channel as you could link to it for people to see the items in action.
I can't wait to see what you come up with next. If the hanger works out I will be buying your full model for the extra bits and bobbles but more importantly to show my appreciation for the work you put into this. Side note - I recently backed the "hinger" Kickstarter which cost a LOT more for just a handful of fabricated hangers, and had I seen your video before hand I wouldn't have bothered *even though you approach the solution differently - you should check out her design).
That's a lot of stuff I would never even consider 3d printing, but you've come up with a lot of really cool designs.
Very spiffy.
One thing I designed and printed for my home was a bag hanger for the kitchen. (I have a small netted bag that holds the weekly buildup of shopping bags, then I empty it at the end of the week) It just screwed to the inside of a cabinet door, and it has been good ever since.
Door stops, drink coasters, organization trays, etc. There's all kinds of things you can make custom for your home.
Oh good ideas! Those red and green bags do come on a roll and I collect lots of other loose bags as well so some holders/dispensers do sound handy
Dude I've been following you for years and haven't been on youtube for a while and this just came up, just wanted to say how much of an influence you have had on my designs and life in general and you are just such a good designer, you just keep impressing every time I see anything you make! Keep inspiring people Devin! ♥
Extraordinarily Brilliant. New subscriber here.
My favorite prints and models I've made are utilitarian. These are fantastic and I might try some of these.
This is the coolest video. I love this concept so much. Please keep doing it!
Also the Quick-release function of the coat hanger just feels so satisfying :D
Very nice Engineering and creative!
I've got an idea right up your alley. "Plywood Furniture" for functional chairs or end tables (looks like slice, gap, slice, gap repeated). Uses allthread to combine slices together. With your capabilities in design, you could design life sized furniture on average sized print beds. Maybe PIP, hinged or lockable designs to get longer single "slices". Or TPU netting for for chair comfort. BTW love the channel
Yo, I been printing lots of clothes hangers that you designed and I freaking love them!! The happy colors I used makes me happy just opening my wardrobe now lol (turqiouse and magenta).
Woohoo! 🙌
I want that dust pan that is so sick and amazing !
I love that shade of green. I needa get my hands on it at some point. Right now im waiting on my 7 spools and .2, .4, and .6 nozzles to come in from Bambu
Wow, your design skills were better than I thought. PLEASE do more videos like this with stuff you design around the house! ... and thanks for making the files public!!!
watering can is great!
Marco sei FENOMENALE!!
Adoro il tuo canale, non smettere mai di fare video!
Saluti da Bologna
This is cool. I made a similar brush to clean off my build plate. The other end is a scraper to clean off purge lines and failed prints.
With coat hangers you can sick them through the body hole to avoid stretching the neck hole
Edit: sorry too late
With the dust pan you should add a comb part to get anything out of the brush bristles
You should try turning those vases into cement/resin vases using a similar method to what Alexander Chappel. I think it would look “cool” 😅
agreed!
Your work is amazing! Have you considered creating an online course for designing objects like the vases that we could purchase? I would really be interested!
im totally gonna print purple and green thrash covers.
Always Great Stuff 😅 enjoyed your video yen again 💪🏻💪🏻
I suggest curtain rods, toiletree like scrubber and back of the toilet paper holder. Maybe a shelf the bathroom to place guest soaps and sanitary. A kitchen and bathroom towel holder. And what house doesn't have a alfghan holder for those chilly nights around the TV
Always great stuff! Thanks for sharing
Okay but those are some really nice sticks tho
What a great video! Genius ideas! And entertaining also. Thank you for sharing your designs.!
what about necktie sorting :D that would be interesting for the community :D
So many amazing designs! You have such a talent for creating good looking and very functional designs. Iterations nails the functionality over time, as shown with the garbage bag brackets. That said, I would slowly lose my mind over having to use two hands to put garbage into the bag. A simple lip on the front of the lid would allow you to open it while holding garbage with the same hand. Also, if the brush was mounted horisontally over the dustpan, it could help holding "dammråttor" or hair clippings in place while carrying the whole thing to the waste bin. Välkommen till Sverige, vi är glada att ha dig här!
Great suggestions, thanks!
Dude, not gonna joke but when you said that you had to make coat hangers ,in my mind, there was a 0% chance that there would be any value in it. But those coat hangers are amazing. What the hell dude!!! 😮 mind blown.
You could just put a regular hanger in from the bottom. No need to stretch!
However your design is handy for travel as it folds.
