Just heard this version on the show Wednesday it's been a long time since I'd heard it. So beautiful
Me too, that is why I am here today
Dude, i came here for this! Great show btw!!
in a time where every "Strong" female lead is flagged Woke Trash. Wednesday has the benifit of having a rich history of her Mary Sueness being grounded in Lore. Yes it does make sence why she is better at archery and fencing. it make perfect sense why she will out dance everybody on the floor. It doesnt need explanation wy she would kick 3 bigger guy's ass using kungFu.
Stong independent Females where never the problem with the Anti Woke movement.
As long as it's grounded in Lore. there needs to be a reason why se is so bad ass.
Me too ✌️
I’m hooked on Wednesday, I’ve already watched season 1 twice. Can’t wait for the next chapter
Idem
If this isn't played at my funeral, I'm not going.
Best comment on this video! xD
Cool strategy 😂
The Death: "oh hell no!"
Weren’t u the guy who wrote the same comment under the original one?🤣
Good one sir
Amazing surprise to hear this song in Wednesday. It brought me goosebumps. Great choice
It was literarry the last thing i expexted.
When i realised where i know that melody from i was stunned :D.
had to look for it everywhere
During Paint it black I was like: why not nothing else matters :D
Yeah. Same here God! Apocalyptica are just great!
Likewise, I didn't expect to hear it. Was pleasantly surprised! =)
Аналогично, не ожидал её услышать. Был приятно удивлён! =)
Amazing to see how many people recognised this in Wednesday. Such a moving piece of music, especially on cello.
100‰ agreed
Jw is it all cello or is there violin as well?
@@jayfackrell6834 cello only
@@tommiaijala2732 thank you 😊
I was kinda surprised to hear instrumental version of the song in the show, I actually thought it was made recently
Possibly the best cover EVER...of ANY song. Brought me to tears
Cornelious Stradivarius Every time!
Listen to Turn the Page by Metallica
I approves this!
Cornelious Stradivarius I'm with ya. The best!! Don't make em today like this.
I agreed at 100%....melody is so beautiful that don't need any words..
Never thought I'd see someone headbanging to a cello
@Kip Jansson and upped the ante
And I'm not mad about it
Hah, thanks for the legit laugh
Hearing this on Wednesday just gave me the chills. Still the best Nothing Else Matters cover ever
Closely followed by Lucie Silvas version.
Tobias Berger agree! I love the Chris Stapleton cover too, but this gives me goosebumps.
Thought it was brilliantly used in Wednesday and a real surprise.
Then you think duh, it’s bloody perfect for the show.
Check out Sully Erna's cover on piano
I was almost shouting at the show when this came on. I've been telling people about these guys for freaking years. I'm so happy to see they will become a household name as they deserve to be.
The chills for the solo were insane
They wont bro. If instrumental music was cool people would have listened long ago. Their best needed help from Three Days Grace for gods sake. Classical is dead as it should be.
@@hiddenfrogsnatcher4796 Them being a household name was a bit of hyperbole but classical is dead? You're out of your mind and have zero understanding of music. The modern classical artists are John Williams, James Horner, and Hans Zimmer to name a few. Also classical is still played around the world today even after hundreds of years. Not to mention is commonly used in TV shows and movies. Just like this was. And finally, if you really think that, why are you even hear listening to it? Leaving a comment? Your actions speak differently.
👍
Bruh Metallica became a household name decades ago...
This is epic. A beautifully made tribute to the original. I danced to the metallica version with my husband as our first dance as husband and wife. 19 years together and 15 years married and still as in love as much as we were since the start. When I'm feeling down or depressed my husband puts this or the original on on and we dance to this on the kitchen floor. It's very cathartic.the rendition of this does the song justice.
I doubt I will ever get married but I cannot thing of a more perfect song for a first dance
Cool, i got unforgiven at my wedding ))
😭
I don't know what played when I got married cuz I don't fucking care! Lol but really good luck to those who have already found it I'm just not a lucky person.
That is simply beautiful ❤️ I wish you more and more happy years together!
Was used at my best friends funeral 3 years ago, she loved Metallica
This makes me sad... I'm so sorry for your loss..
sorry my friend
My friend passed away recently, he played many instruments , but the cello is what he wanted to master.. His friend broke it and In our last conversation before he passed away , he promised to get a new one and play for me.. This song is bittersweet, but beautiful just like my friend. RIP Ryan

I saw them open for another band a long time ago and I had never heard of them. I was grabbing a beer from a bar and I heard this song … ON CELLOS!! … and I wondered through the crowd to the base of the stage and stared in amazement. I was hypnotized.
Went out and bought a cello and have been learning ever since.
That moment began my musical journey and I’ll always remember it.
Same here. I first heard this cover by them when I was about 12 years old (~12 years ago). They inspired me to play cello, and I've been playing ever since. Even went to music school for 6 years. Tried to get my bachelor's in performance but the curriculum was too much and not fun at all. Nearly killed my musical spirit. Now I'm back to doing it for fun and studying landscape architecture and really enjoying it! :P
Love this
The same but with the violin when I heard Einaudi’s Experience ! 😊
I remember them opening for Rammstein back in 2005! They just did Metallica covers then. Amazing to see it come around again 🤟🏻
Pues da la gracias a METALLICA; concretamente, a CLiff Burton!!!
That scene from Wednesday is a masterpiece of directing. Incredible use of this great song/cover.
Agree...✨
Spot on!
Metal And Classic..the best ever
There was nothing Metal about it.....
@@blivion7203 Well the song it's based on is Metal. So it had the "metal" feel. It's not that hard to understand.
@@sericsson1996 Didn't say t'was hard to understand, but I still didn't feel the “Metal feelin'”.
@@karolkonieczny9130 They're a Rock band, but they're a Metal band as well.
I mean... Even their name indicates that they're a Metal band.....
@@blivion7203 they're originally thrash metal
Just amazing. Anyone here in 2024
Yup! Going to choreograph a dance routine to this beautiful piece!
Yess I can't stop listening 🎧
This is my walking down the aisle wedding song
Hi. I am from Ukraine
The fact that you can hear the short breaths inbetween sections of the whole song, is a detail I truly appreciate. It makes it more, authentic..
been nearly 20 years since I last heard this song, then I catch it on a netflix show and I remember the angsty years like yesterday
No, it's like WEDNESDAY
The solo... It's just amazing
agreed
Sry Metallica but Apocalyptica plays solo part better. I like very much what they do on 2:05.
Yes, but who did it? hahah looks like some invisible cellist kkk
@@quel94 hey! I was always wondering who played this part!? I was like uhm I can’t tell who’s playing it-
This song gets me every time I hear it. No matter where, when, with any instrument, band, style and singer. It's just a masterpiece
I'm sure I can mess it up. But thank you for your confidence.
This song is so fucking well used in netflix's serie Wednesday, It litteraly gives the chill
This song gives me chills every time I listen to it. There is something about cellos that is so powerful and emotional and it directly hits your heart.
How could anyone possibly dislike this PERFECTION !
Because it’s a horrible copy of Metallica
@@sledge2105it’s a cover? Lol, how’s that a horrible copy lmao.
Loved how they implemented this in the Wednesday series.
Also reminds me of the Black Sails theme and the Frontier one
Black Sails is so underrated. I miss that show.
This is why I love Netflix sometimes. For the reincarnation of masterpieces like this to the newer days. What an amazing cover yet a few of us knew.
I am a violinist and I love metal, I was so excited to discover this band and even MORE excited to hear it in a mainstream show 🤘
on youtube: Mayhem 14TH Rite
A friend shared this band and track with me years ago. Then when I heard this on Wednesday, there was no getting rid of my knowing smile and gaze. SO glad to hear this
👏 May your longtime fans rejoice and may your new ones be plentiful~
One of the best versions I’ve ever heard! A classic song played perfectly. Thank you Wednesday!
I was pleasantly surprised to hear this on Wednesday, I'm sure a lot of the younger viewers won't know what the song is or who made it but I recognized it immediately.
Definitely gives me chills, although James Hetfield is the genius behind “Nothing Else Matters” this is just as much a masterpiece, such emotion flowing through the instruments. Glad I was watching Wednesday to bring me back to this, truly a piece art.
This was our wedding music.
Almightyrastus mine too
Me too
If I ever get married I want this exact song being what I walk down the isle to 💗
Me too! Amazing!
+Fernanda Coelho Monteiro es la majestuosidad hecha música
Stopped by to see how many hits this has gotten since its been on Wednesday. Looks like a few recognized it right away.
My aunt passed away this Sunday. We were by her side all along. She died from cancer and it was a tough fight. She never complained and had all the family gather often.
I can't stop listening to this version in my head, she was right: family is important and Nothing else matters.
I miss you so much and I am so sorry I couldn't do more for you. Thank you for the memories and the greatest of value you've left us with. We will carry on your torch.
Im sorry for your loss 🕊️ She is in a better place watching over you
I'm in this period of my life where this exact cover has been on replay for the past half a year. When I heard it in Wednesday, I just got lost and missed everything that was said while it was playing :D
Years later and this is STILL my favourite version of this song.
*The cello is one of the most amazing instruments, I truly appreciate hearing it make music from the people who plays them and make cello covers of music we often listen to*
Beautifully dark and sinister…. And yet a chilling calming effect…
Metal + Classic + Metallica = Perfect match made in Heaven ❤🖤 Thank you Apocalyptica for this masterpiece and thank you Wednesday 🖤
Wonderful piece of music, but I appreciate the clip as well. Would like to hear what others think about it. I always associated the boats/ships in this with kids... At the very beginning you can see the woman on the swing, being all cheerful and carefree. After that comes the toy/model boat - a small child. The couple carry it through snow, crush the ice so it can float... Just like parents help their children and go through the pain of clearing the way for their future. Eventually they let it sail on its own on the open sea; they let go, just like parents do at some point. And at the very end they observe how that little boat that once couldn't get to the stream without their help now is a great ship cruising the vast ocean. And their proud as hell. I love it.
your comment is getting too little likes. Really one of the best comments I have ever read.
Beautifuly put. Now I love the music video even more :).
You are damn right!)
Is a couple dreaming
AND the boat name Is Paradise
Really nice interpretation!
I take it as two people having a dream and atlast they fulfill it.. :)
Apocalyptica - you can thank Wednesday for my visit to hear your version of the song. Really, really beautiful. I've gained new respect for the cello. Thank you.
I was watching Wednesday and suddenly a violin started playing. It felt eerily familiar until I realised it's Nothing Else matters and what a masterpiece is this!
Cello, not violin

14 years and still one of the best in human history
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written.
To say "brilliant and amazing", means - to say nothing. This masterpiece of music does not play inside my ears. This one play in the deep of my soul. Like an echo of bygone days playing in the depths of the ancient forest.
You know this one. One of the most famous songs. Breathtaking cover of an original by Metallica.
this was the song my mom used as an alarm to wake up every morning for around 20 years or more, I'm 23 years old and whenever i hear it i just get nostalgic and it reminds me of my childhood and my mom. I heard it while watching wednesday today and it made me so happy
It was a pleasant surprise to hear this piece in the Wednesday, but it also reminded me that I'm getting old.
Many are here on Wednesday, and many of us have been here since the creation of this beautiful work.
2020 and I'm still listening...
First listened to this in.... feels like the 90s! My music teacher played this and asked which instruments we just heard. Then he showed us the music video... let us say we were quite shocked
Oh me too...nothing could take the place of this
I’m still listening in 2021
So insanely addictive. This cover should be at least 20 minutes long!!
My 5 weeeks old son is only able to sleep with this Song. Thank god for you
Theres something to be said about recreating a powerful song that was already going to be remembered as being a classic, and making it to be remembered even longer. These instruments are timeless as this rendition sounds like it’ll be mimicked far longer than the original. Re-fell in love with this song again.
it's 2021 and this still is the greatest music I've ever heard in my life!
so true!!

Omg I heard this song on the show Wednesday and it brought a tear to my eye, beautiful.
This is no ordinary song. This is the song of the universe. 🤘🤘🤘🎻🎸
Nobody touches Metallica, but Apocalyptica is as close as anybody will get. :)
2021 still listening
My mother is a cellist and I hear her playing this everyday for practice. Oh god, nostalgia.
I watched Wednesday, I shazamed and I found this. My ears are blessed
Came here from Wednesday of course, what a treat!
I was watching Wednesday and this song started to play. I think the last time I listened this version was in 1998, when I bought Inquisition Symphony. It is amazing
So you bought the album, listened to it once (or perhaps for one year) and then never again?
The best cello's voice.. Thanks forever Apocalyptica! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
HEARD THIS SONG FROM WEDNESDAY A NETFLIX SHOW DAMN LIT
It’s so good that if it had words in it, I could predict them right now.
Aquí por Melina cap 3 💖😍 Tremenda banda ya era hora de un poco de reconocimiento 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
As a fellow cellist... gives me chills to hear this song in a cello acoustic. I fell in love when I heard it on the Wednesday Netflix show even tho she wasnt playing it visually it was played as song in the series in cello acoustic.. I was washing dishes when my 11 year old was watching it in the living room during Thanksgiving time with the in laws.. And I heard the harmony and asked is that a cello I hear playing?. She said yeah mom Wednesday playing it how did you no. I said your momma played the cello from 5th grade to 12th.. And I did chior. Cello is the grandfather of the guitars. It's strings and notes is the same to a air and acoustic guitar. Only difference you have to sit in a chair and hold a bow and rye your bow instead of a pick. Your bow is your pick. Why I fell in love with the cello. I had a cherry oak cello with a light tan leather case. As a fellow rocker. I loved teaching myself rock and roll songs on my cello since it is the grandfather guitar. I never dreamed to play Metallica nothing else matters. I loved when she played Paint it black by rolling stones on the balcony which by far is a Rock and Roll song i never imagined either to play on my cello. But when I heard the cello washing dishes I knew the song and the instrument. I was than intrigued by the series.. Come to find out I was right. And my daughter called me a dork but at the same time thought I was cool because Only Wednesday was playing it 9x out of 10. Also she didn't believe when I pointed out the Wednesday i grew up seeing in the 90s Christina Ricci was the Normie teacher in the new Wednesday. We argued until she searched it up. I told her i told you sissy, she played in Casper too after the Adam's family.. Your momma a movie fanatic too as well as music. My in laws thought it was amazing how I called out the instrument and the name of the song when i heard it as i was cleaning up in the kitchen.. Heck yeah I'm a rock baby and who can't tell that the Rolling Stones and Metallica. I dont expect folks to know the instrument but the cello like the violin speaks in such harmony you can heard lyrics in its notes and strings. It resonates in its chorus and harmony in the notes... Highlight of my Thanksgiving was feeling bliss of hearing the cello in a rock song since its been 13 years since i played it.. I use to close my eyes and play same to when i sing... Some things never die in the soul. . . 🤣🤣🥰😅🤌💗 " Edited." Yes she Jenna played the cellist acoustics songs in this series even if it wasn't visually played. She is the cello sound track to the series even she fell in love with the instrument taught herself before the production started and said she'll continue to pursuit it even after. Not only was Christina Ricci was her inspiration she evaluated into her own character from her role model but also orchestrated another new art talet of her own in music that founded a new Authenticy in her own character.. If only many knew actually touching one really hits your soul like a harpist, pianist or violinist when it's heard, felt and or played! So Blissful 🤘😩🥰💗
Wednesday brought me here. Loved hearing this version!
The most beautiful version that I've ever heard

So much people come here, saying "i listening on wednesday show this song" nothing else matters....you apprecited the music, and the artist, that is so good, for everyone, thanks Merlina, more and more people listening this awesome piece of art.
So amazing and full of goosebumps when the solo kicks in.
Perfect tune for Wednesday 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Heard this on the Wednesday show. I see I'm not the only one. Literal chills when this played!!
I love this song, and especially the scene where Wednesday is talking about the “monsters behind the scenes” such a thrilling piece!
thank you, Wednesday for showing me this masterpiece 🖤🖤🖤

Wow. Metalica and chello. Huge part of what turned Wednesday from a steriotype into one of the finest and astonishingly real characters of this era. Another great Finish band.
I'm argentinean and Love Apocalyptica, my parents are finnish and i could to got into cello so therefore i listen to this everytime.
Wednesday speaking about how monster is everyone and how dangerous they are while this song playing on the background is poetic cinema.
What a powerful interpretation of the original. I'm glad I found this masterpiece after I heard it on Wednesday.
Disappointed that the song is only credited as “instrumental” on Wednesday. I knew exactly who it was!
How is it humanly possible for one to create such a masterpiece..
thank you apocalyptica for giving more success to the Wednesday 😈🤟
This is the most beautiful thing I've heard all lockdown 😭😭😭
My wife walked down the aisle to this ☺️
Wednesday introduced me to this version of Nothing Else Matters and I was not disappointed
This pure sound of only cellos is the best Apocalytica you can get. No need for drums, other instruments or vocals. You guys are so unique by using 4 cellos. I hope, I hope, I hope, in the future I can enjoy a new album with only this magnificent sound. You are so good that additional stuff is not necessary...
