    As a bass player main, I can’t believe you just busted out that sweet bass line so quickly. Your groove and timing was incredible.

      Memorise the 12 keys of an octave to the point that You can hear the correct note just by looking at the keys or piano roll. Onces you can do that, use the same technique to remember cords, eventually after about 6 months, You will start to play without even thinking about it, muscles memory just puts your hands and fingers in the right place.

    This week I have been going over some old projects ,some are ideas and some are near to finished. It annoys Me that some of these ideas are great but been sitting for years now while I continued to jump to the next project over and over, some go back to 07. We are taking over 1000 unfinished projects.

    Hey Matt, it's nice to see that today there are still some top tier musicians who don't try to act mysterious and share their knowledge with others, that makes you cooler than you already are. Additionally, the production behind this video is impeccable.
    If it's not too much trouble, I would like to ask if in the future you could make a video talking about the clichés or concepts in Harmony/Chords that you use the most, I am a beatmaker and although I know a little about Harmony, sometimes there are chords/progressions of which I don't know the name and that makes it difficult for me to investigate on my own.
    I apologize in advance for such a long text, have a nice day.

    your key skills are phenomenal! Personally I feel like the song could use a few little one off vocal chops, maybe reversed, toward the end of some phrases? For me the tricky thing with these types of songs is the intro and outro. Curious to see how you finish it!

    I’m curious about the treatment of the acoustic piano to get that mellow sound. Also how many pianos/electric pianos do you typically use at once in a track? I hadn’t really considered layering them like that but it sounds good!

    • @mattwildemusic
      @mattwildemusic  Год назад +2

      Here I’m using the practice felt on my upright piano so there’s essentially a piece of felt between the hammers and strings! I made a video on how I record my upright piano which goes into that in a bit more detail. To answer the second part of your question, it depends on the track. I probably typically use piano or rhodes, then 3-5 synth layers ☺️

    I hate when RUclipsrs title videos with "how to" like they’re about to present a common problem then explain and demonstrate solutions, but it’s just a video of them doing a thing and narrating it.
    This video is just him making a beat. I appreciate the content but I hate the clickbait bs.

  • @buriedbones-nh9xr

    You know that making music isnt about "finishing beats"
