Fit better tyres. The Bridgestones aren't much better than the dreaded P Zeros that Audi are putting on the RS3. First thing I did was swap out the tyres on my RS3 for Michelin PS4. I sold the Bridgestones on eBay... the PS4's are night and day better tyres, also better mpg and they last 20k if you don't drive like a Knob Lord.
I think the hard use that this car has been subjected to is the issue as most will not be doing this and should get a lot longer life out of the tyres..
Tyres are a bit of rubber regardless when it comes to potholes cuts nail/screws etc buy budget 225 45 17 fitted £48 as a taxi absolute no point buying premium tyres £110 plus per corner even speed rated pointless can only go at 70mph
Very possibly the most boring video from WhatCar ever. So now we know that 8mm of tread is more effective than 3mm. If you did 3mm to 2mm it may have had some practical use
Other videos suggest 3mm is a safer legal limit than 1.6mm. Below 2mm the performance really isn't good. Age also matters too.
Great video! Now do a new tyres test, Michelin vs Bridgestone vs Pirelli etc
Go to Tyre Reviews
How about age of the tyre? I read should be changed every 6 yrs even though it has plenty tread. Thanks.
Those tires look brand new compared to my RS3 with 2k miles. They grip well but track use destroys them.
No mention of tyre pressures, were both sets set to the same pressures?
Excellent test, real world informative.
Thank you!
I was fascinated by the wheel centre caps……
What is the best HIGH profile tires for the RS3

This is why I change my rubber every 3 years...
What about the wet weather test?
Poor test though as you're not testing like for like tires 🤷
Ok so wear on tyres slows down the breaking of a car
*Braking
No. It slows down the braking.
So change your tyres every 1000 miles then.

Kwik Fit 😂😂 💩
The test results are only relevant if you drive like an idiot on the roads.
Not necessarily sometimes you just need to brake instantly to avoid an accident following the speed limit!😀
@@germanengineering204 Fair point.
Run out of ideas for a video have we?
And was it necessary to show each test run? It was absolutely boring - Zzzzzzzz!
