GET OVER WITH IT. this year's meta is for top laners because of the juggs and all of the teams who fought skt has the same strategy all over the time. it's "focus faker strategy". they are afraid that faker will carry the game that's why they focus him too much and forget that the other laners can carry too. skt has a team of players that can carry their own way that's why if the meta fits with them. they can have more impact than those who are not fit into the meta. it's not about faker underperforming but it is faker acting as a "dummy" to fool enemy to think that he's the only one who will carry the game. the exceptional of this is his ryze. he is undefeated in him and he did well in ryze. this game is not about a 1 man carry but a teamwork and faker realizes that he need his knowledge and teamwork to win a game. here's a potato for you
Not a meta you want to carry from mid lane. The number one team at putting kill-share into mid was TSM and look how that turned out. The only "playmaking" mid lane champions played in the semi-finals and later was LeBlanc and Azir but even then Azir was picked more for utility. Most of the champs were Orianna, Azir, Ryze, Veigar, Viktor and Anivia. Teamfighting scaling mid laners that bring a lot to teamfighting. I think xPeke, Faker, Febiven and Kur0 all did well, but none were really on playmaking champions.
I definitely rate Marin over Faker this year. Faker had some really nice engage-kills, but he died a lot and didn't show up that much as Marin. Maybe it's because we have carry top laners meta, but w/e, this year Marin>Faker.
