Best Bag I've used for daily carry. The zipper issue isn't really a problem once it breaks in. I hope they incorporate this bag into the lineup so more people can get it.
After researching and watching so many videos, I ended up buying the Evergoods CTB26 based on this video. So glad I did, I love this bag! Great videos. Keep up the great work!
I sold mine, while an excellent bag. My main ziper would get caught halfway down (like yours did in the video) where the pockets all folded next to the zipper. That is going to wear through that fabric very quickly. Excellent pockets on that bag too, but that one flaw was enough to move on.
Thank you for watching! Definitely a tough choice to part with it, but totally understand with that issue, I’ll keep an eye on it and will be crossing my fingers it doesn’t get worse 😅 hopefully they release a version like their CTB35 with the non aqua guard zippers that have worked really smoothly for me on that bag
Hey Danny! Really great review as always. I recently received this bag and intend to use it as my daily driver for work/gym and so far love it mainly for all of the handy space independent quick access pockets and perfect bag size (for me) to be a good daily driver and a minimal travel bag for weekend trips! Thanks for the great coverage!
Yup, I just ordered mine. I’m glad I waited as I’m not a fan of Aquaguard zippers and prefer the 420D over VX42. This is my grail in term of features. Very little to complain about this bag.
Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! I’ll likely be trying a few different styles in the new year so excited to see what everyone thinks!:)
I have the Phoenix CPL24 and the only thing I wish it had is the water bottle holder(s). I’m going to have to find one of these. Love these bags. Great video, thank you!
these are great bags.. but the I checked the website (since you don't tell us... ) for the weight... It's over 3 lbs for a 26l... toooooo heavy!! I'm going for the mlc mini and getting rid of the waist strap. 2.6 lbs 30L !
Great review! I hesitated using my ctb26 since it initially hurt my lower back, but I'm thinking I may want to give it another go after recently getting a ctb35
Thank you for watching Andy! Definitely worth revisiting if you have a chance, I was super excited for this after having a chance to use the CTB35 on a few trips
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! I really love both bags but if I had to pick one I would probably go with that CTB26 since I like the organizational layout a bit more and the way the luggage passthrough and laptop compartment are oriented which just makes it easier to use overall imo
Thank you for watching! The one in this video is from Original Penguin and I found it at a local department store near where I live, but there’s some nice similar style ones on Amazon and recently I’ve really been liking some of the newer hard shell rollers from companies like aero trunk and level8
Great video as always. One quick question…I’ve been looking for a travel manicure set and you’ve mentioned yours a few times. Who makes the one you have?
Thank you for watching and for the support! The manicure set I have is from a brand called jack barber. I picked it up at a marshals store and haven’t been able to find a link online to that specific one but I included a link in the description for a similar one I found on Amazon if that helps :)
Hi Danny. From the front the bag looks as if it tapered towards the bottom. Does it really taper? Is the back panel/laptop compartment tapered or is this an optical illusion? It looks like the perfect size, like a CPL with a stash pocket and bottle pockets (or a shrunken CTB 35). This will surely be sold in their propietary fabric soon, so thanks a lot for this video.
Thank you for watching! You can purchase the regular version of the CTB26 on evergoods site, but if you want the version from this video (xpac fabric, orange interior) you will need to find it second hand either from eBay or the carryology Facebook group
Great review! Looks like you wear the bag a bit lower than other reviewers others. Have you found that comfortable. The only thing stopping me buying the bag is that it looks like it sits too high.
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! I think it will depend on your height and general harness preferences, for me I think it’s comfortable when I wear it a little lower and the bottom doesn’t dig into my back or anything like that (although you don’t get the full benefit of the shoulder curve when you wear it that low)
Thank you for watching and good question! At a certain point they will start to interfere with one another if you but something bulkier in one of them but general you are able to use both of them at once pretty comfortably (this is one of the areas where evergoods shines as far as ensuring the pockets in their bags have fairly i depending volumes)
I’d love more ctb options! Different size options and materials would be awesome. Especially if they are cheaper than this one😅I have the Phoenix ctb26 and I love it so much I’m no longer interested in their other bag styles😬This one is just spot on for me for edc. I was so tempted with the burnt orange cpl but it’s no ctb😂 The 26-28 liter size range is a sweet spot for me. If I need something smaller I typically grab a sling, and if I need more than 26 liters I grab one of my larger travel specific bags. This bag does compliment my checked luggage really well. I’m pretty minimal but the bag is a bit tight on space for extended trips as far as one bag travel.
Thank you for watching! Although I’m an xpac fan in general i would also really like to see this in their regular fabric (I really like the more subdued look of the CTB35 and the chz22 in those fabrics)
Love this bag. It is my favorite pack at the moment. Just for camera stuff I like the Boundary Supply Errant X-Pac more. For all other scenarios CTB26💪
Aer City Pack Pro in X-PAC is nearly identical to this. You get one extra side pocket and lose one water bottle pocket. The front is organized differently. It’s an excellent alternative with the same materials and colors (plus it’s readily available and much much cheaper)
Thank you for watching and great suggestion! I am a big fan of the city pack pro and I also think the travel pack 3 small is a compelling option as it has a similar layout and feature set to the city pack pro but includes a side handle which is something I always end up using more than I would have expected :)
If the CPP was 5ish liters bigger I would jump in on getting it. The bag is fairly small for what is advertised as being 24L (and I swear that when the bag first put on their website the listed size was 22L, and my tin-foil hat conspiracy is that Aer increased the internal volume measurement because they thought it would make it more appealing to people who wanted a bigger City Pack).
@@Andorski the tag that comes with it says 22L. I think they gave themselves credit for extra 2L since the admin panel expends out about two inches. Similar size to a 2L tech pouch.
Great review. Great looking bag. I was so excited for this release but once again my back wasn't happy. The bag just doesn't fit me properly. I was so hopeful...
Thank you for watching and I’m sorry to hear this one wasn’t a fit! It seems like this is an issue multiple people have run into across their bags so hopefully there will be improvements in future versions
Thank you for watching! That is from a company called 33,000 ft, i added a link to the same one I ordered in the description if you want to check it out =)
Thank you for watching and definitely a tough choice! As much as I love the gr2 I would likely have to lean towards this one due to the additional features (luggage passthrough, water bottle pockets, and the pocket layout is just really intuitive)
@@dannypacks Thanks for your feedback! I really hope Evergoods comes out with the regular version of this soon. I contacted them recently and it sounds like they will at some point this year. I do need a bag soon though some I'm trying to decide whether or not to jump on the GR2 now instead of waiting.
Damn, this looks like the perfect backpack. Has all of the features you will need while seeming very well built and looks good too. They would be doing themselves a disservice by not making this model a staple in their line up. I honestly can see this being a best seller. How would you rate this against the GoRuck heritage GR2 26L? Out of the two, which would you say you prefer? The only glaring omission I can see on the GoRuck is external water bottle holders.
Thank you for watching and I agree this is an incredibly solid bag and definitely hope evergoods brings it back! Tough choice between the two, as much as I love goruck and the dual clamshell layout if I had to pick between the two I would lean towards this one since it has the water bottle pockets, luggage passthrough, more weather resistance and a more breathable back panel while still providing great organization and laptop protection
I think this bag may be too noisy for me with regards to exterior fabric & interior colour. Non aqua guarded zippers I can do without as well for business/EDC. I recently purchased a Bullet 16L Laptop in 500/210D and its been perfect. Great video and thanks.
Thank you for watching! The fabric noise is a little more noticeable than some others but it hasn’t been an issue so far thankfully and that’s awesome you got the new bullet! I’m been testing that one and it’s been pretty cool so far!
Thank you for watching and unfortunately that is always an issue with these collaborations:( you may be able to find one on eBay or the carryology Facebook group, but the price may be high. My hope is that the amount of interest in the Phoenix V2 bags might encourage evergoods to release a version of this as part of their regular lineup
Weight of bag means nothing compared to how it carries unless you're travelling international and someone actually weighs it which is rare. This bag carries very well.
@@adityamangla4923 does not matter much to me tbh. Still you are wearing additional weight where you do not have to. There are many lighter bags i prefer and have same and more comfort.
Thank you for watching! Although you get a good amount of features and value for the weight it is definitely on the heavier side and can see how that might turn people away from the bag
Best Bag I've used for daily carry. The zipper issue isn't really a problem once it breaks in. I hope they incorporate this bag into the lineup so more people can get it.
Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience with the bag! That’s great to hear the zipper issue improves as the bag breaks in more

@Ben Mercier I’ll sell you mine brand new below MSRP.
@@travaden I just picked one up yesterday, but thank you.
Love the review. Does the water bottle pocket eat into the main compartment? Thanks
Thank you for watching! The water bottles expand outwardly so shouldn’t take up space from the main area
Hi Danny! Love the detailed review. How do you find this wears compared to the CPL24? Do they wear similar or is this much bigger?
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! I do think it feels a bit bigger, particularly the width
