- Join me on a magical journey, where I make a 5 minute job from 6 months ago last a full day.
Nice to have the car properly together now!!
Thanks for all the replies on the last video too.
UPDATE - this did not hold up. Do not fit a polybush here. OEM BMW or alloy part if you're racing. Make sure its pressed in, not pushed in like a polybush, or it will come out...

Thanks for this video @DannyDC2.
I’m having this clunk/rattle issue on an M3 F80.
Need help in diagnosing.
Other details and vid clips below.
Thank you very much for any advice.

Jackie tran 😂😂 glad you like my name suggestion 👌🏻👌🏻
Haha thanks mate
Nürburgring Obsessed made me laugh 😂.
DannyDC2 anytime bro
Very clever!
Liked for Mac Miller playing in the background
This guy can seriously drive... been watching you for years now and still one of my favourite people to watch regardless of what your doing
Loving the tunes.....Prefab Sprout!👍👍👍
Hey Danny.🖐 Stopping mid-sentence to show the RS6, haha, we're definitely cut from the same cloth.😁 Wearing headphones, I heard the clunk you had us listening for. Yeah, that bushing was rickety as hell. Ideally, it would have been changed back when the diff was out a while back, but hindsight is always 20/20. The Pro Tip on flipping the hacksaw blade the non-standard way was worth showing.👏 That'll help some poor guy in the future. I remember reading the brilliant Jackie Tran😂 comment a while back and I'm glad to see it stuck around. Taking the extra time to remove all the other parts seems like a pain up front, but makes the job go so much smoother. So it took a day's work to do, but the time was well spent. The M3 is a sweet machine and deserves all the effort you're putting into it.👍 Fingers crossed on the compression test. It sounds pretty healthy and hopefully the results will show it is. Have a great week ahead, mate. Cheers.
Peter Kay reference in there? That’s surely the origin of the fine rain line, right? Great video as always Dan, making 16 minutes fly by. Thought you were a brave soul doing that bush in the car but it all worked out well!
Fine quote from a thicc man
From what I have learnt from steel bolts going into Aluminium housings is to always put the threadlock nearer the bolt head side, because most people put it on the end of the bolt and that is what causes it to twist and snap if it get jammed. Also prevents the deeper threads from being damaged, If threadlock is applied nearer the head of the bolt.
👌 fookin nailed it. Good god that engine note is top shelf.
Cheeky Peter kay reference lad
Cheers for the Sunday morning content 👊🏻👊🏻
Great video, some great tunes in the background too. Keep them coming mate
Thanks 👍
What a playlist! Man wish I know a guy like you! 🤦🏻♂️ handy having a mate that knows his way round an M3
I'm similarly kicking myself! I had a Quaife installed into my E92 diff and never thought to get the bushes changed at the same time! I've go-pro'd my diff while driving the car and it moves quite alarmingly! It thumps when i'm driving 'enthusiastically'. Got some poly's to go in it when i get time and the use of a lift. I've done a lot of bushes over the years and the one thing i will never do again is do them without pullers! They're not expensive and make the job soooo much easier. I've got 3 big sets of them so must have every size ever required 😂.
Gonna get a proper pull kit one day. I've got threaded bar and sockets for now, but one day...
This an issue i had 3 years ago, did exact what you did and it was much better, but you should also check your propshaft cv, i thought my car was smooth changing gears until i replaced the propshaft cv last week, it made a huge difference.
Yeah they always seem okay, I think it's just something that you change and see. I will wait.
Mint vid mate. Even better with mostly Courteeners soundtrack in the background!
Good vid. I ended up fitting an oe bush in that location in the end as it helped keep the diff noise down a bit...
The mrs’ Z4C has started clunking, I think it’ll either be gearbox or diff bush. Ideal timing to see a video of changing it!
nice one mate! more than content with the iphone filming btw.
Proper m3 like that are worth a shitload of money here. And I bet not one of them gets looked after like yours. Mechanics here wanted ti charge me a new motor for my car and all it was was a thermostat. So I changed it no probs since. Nice drift in the wet to 😆
Got the same on my e36 m3. Tried to loosen the axles, destroyed the torx head on diff flange bolts. Didn't have time to remove the lower arms etc. I'll do the entire axle next year. It doesn't clunk if I'm super smooth on my inputs. But yeah it sucks..
Great content. Wish I had the nerve to do these jobs... lol..
Little individual door sill flex there
If you need any decent impact sockets Halfords Advanced do a full set for about £36 on trade discounts with a lifetime warranty and a no quibbles return policy. I’d recommend that, but they are only standard length not deep, I have the set though and they are great 👍🏼. (If you need a trade card just say you work on cars, they don’t ask for proof). Also comes with a universal impact socket adaptor too, and extension.
If you need deep impact sockets Sealey does a set model number AK5817M, for about £80 off Amazon and has a lifetime warranty if you register it online within the first 30 days, they are all deep sockets right upto 32mm, and they have a lock-on feature if you’re working on a rounded bolt. Great investment and can save you a lot of headaches.
more videos matey love the content you make me laugh my and are very entertaining
Looking so good in the thumbnail pic
nice vid, i have one to do on my e85, and had neil at automac recase my e36 diff after it threaded the case like you were worried about! cheers
Yeah...that was about ready to be changed 😂
good test run in mexico at the end there
Well done mate, you are amazing
Well done on 50k subs btw
I have a similar clunk in my car, atleast the description you gave sounds familiar. But I have a fwd Citroën C4... Replaced the rear enginemount a few years ago, didn't help
Jackie Tran had me buckled 😂😂
Nice video Danny boy
LOVE THE CHANNEL MAN
Lovely stuff. 👌✌
Bring back the post credit bit, gwon
Love the car👍👍👍
feel it ? i felt it through the screen lol, even the iPhone had a wobble
Flexing a shiny new watch I see 😎
nah its a good 8 yrs old. Just the ones with plastic clasp has broken twice now
Mate...one question...
How you do the rear camber adjuster with these camber arms??
Your vids are great, especially the M3 diving ones. Does the shifter refresh kit from BMW make a difference in the shifting if you installed it? Love the locals farms also👍
Of course it does. I replaced all the plastic parts in the shifter. It feels like new
The gearbox torque mount went on my fiesta so i can totally relate.
Same mate it’s pretty much the same thing
yep!
😂
SHARK MEDIA the torque mount doesn’t like me abusing 1st gear and trying so hard to spin through 2nd but not having the power too 😂
Tight like a tiger 👌🏻
I am surprised that bolt goes to 200nm.
Cool video Dan. Why do you suspect the head gasket?
A bushy day ;-)
I have a black powerflex diff bush but my diff made alot of noise to.
The bolts can strip If the oem bush gets bad like yours. I had to remove diff and re tap the thread and upsize to a 16mm bolt 🤢
Savage!
@SR did you drill them oem bush to 16mm and retap diff with m16 x 1 5? Similar issue thinking whether to upsize or thread repair
@@i4555 so I have a powerflex in mine (didnt realise they were an issue like Dan said) anyways I drilled the metal sleeve of the powerflex Bush to accommodate a m16 bolt and yes I re-tapped the dif thread too. No issues since.
I did find a kit online that provides a new Bush that takes an m16 bolt, m16 bolt and the tap. But it was more money to get it shipped from the US so I didn't it myself.
@@s4ms0n1t3 other option is to timesert only available from us @150+ or helicoil but no guarantee they can handle the torque + more work. Think I'll just stick to up sizing the bolt if no issues
Did you use 14.5mm drill or 14.3
Self Care 👌🏻
are you using spacers on the front wheels
Where are you form? This is Ripon road ..
I really like spec of your M3. Proper drivers spec. Are you going to spend the monies on schrick cams on your engine refresh and CSL remap??
Yeah and 2J swap
@@dannyDC2
Can't wait for the 2J swap 😆😆
Jackie trann😆
RIP Mac Miller
Bro, you didn't change the 2 rear diff bushings while you had it out? lol
Nah they were new with the diff rebuild. They are built in the cover when you buy it from bmw
How's the Poly front bush holding up mate? Hearing conflicting info, would like to hear your thoughts. Thanks
It didn't hold up, don't fit it. OEM BMW is the one
@@dannyDC2 thanks for the reply. Went with OEM in end. Glad I did now 👍
Very satisfying re -bush, who put your 4;1 in Danny? or did you do it yourself?
R D Motorsport in Edinburgh fitted the new gear
@@dannyDC2 Cheers, i'll give them a go.
Hi! why is the bushing hole oval and the oem is not? thank you
No idea. Don’t fit poly bush here this failed at Nurburgring a few month later
A bit of spaff 😂😂
16:00 MOAR
Danny how comes you’ve unlisted so many of your videos?
Goood byeee 😂
How long have you the powerflex bushing in now?
I put one into mine when I rebuilt the rear end and it started to move in the oval hole in 2 day's. Had to get a genuine one which never looked back
Not even 24hrs yet, so will see!
Same for me, I had to replace mine for a oem
Those iPhone vlogs are good what you buying to replace the Audi?
Audi was replaced with a bmw estate
As above
Would u feel a thump in the rear of the car?
Yes
@@dannyDC2 I just checked on my e92 m3 and I notice right away the my diff it tilted to the right and checked the mounts and the driver side mount is completely shot it's litterly in pieces
🤟
Sent it 😂
Hello 👋
