    Always appreciate your videos Slinger, you’re one of the few archery channels out there that give great, thorough advice. Been a fan for years.

    it sounds like your RPM has a loose draw stopper ?

    Machined aluminum and it wouldn't matter if it was magnesium. They both come from a cast anyways, and also magnesium is what makes aluminum and steel hard.

    Need more videos on these 2 man, please thanks. I'm only weeks away from either ordering a new oneida Phoenix or custom rpm nitro

      get the phoenix ! The cable bumpers and string stop makes that bow a totally different bow . The Phoenix is quiet and fast and it shoots better then any lever bow ever made !

      You’re talking about the difference between buying a high performance sports car and an economy car. If you can afford the Phoenix I’m confused why you’d even look at the RPM

    • @jesusoftheapes
      @jesusoftheapes 6 лет назад +4

      Russell Pickett : Why not try a new product . Sorry the Phoenix is NOT that much of a superior bow to the RPM nitro . . The cams are almost identical , The riser is machined . The limbs are a little different but they are both using the same parts . You have an inflated idea of what Oneada is pushing and they are insanely overpriced products ! The truth is neither of these bows are top of the line tech and if you want a super high end bow dont buy a lever bow .

      jesusoftheapes First of all you are contradicting yourself (you recommended the Phoenix and stated it was a superior bow) secondly if you look at the reviews of the RPMs they are hot garbage. They are slower than the Phoenix and a lot louder. The quality of machining and materials is not on the same level. I’ve seen several go out on the water and not come back to the dock in one piece. I’ve not seen an Oneida fail that easily. As far as performance is concerned regarding the last part of your comment. There is no other bow that matches the lever bow (at least the Oneida) in ease of draw and efficiency. The Phoenix has been tested and only loses 20fps for almost a 200gr increase in arrow weight. Not a compound out there that can match that. I shoot a wheeled bow for the speed. But for the money you really can’t get a more enjoyable easy bow to shoot than an Oneida just my opinion based on my experience and what I’ve seen.

      You can add the same sting dampeners from teh phoenix to the nito and they are about the same in vibration and sound . . Nitro limbs are wooden just like most of Oneidas bows outside the phoenix . The Oneida Eagles have ALWAYS been over priced and loud . Ive seen Oneidas cams explode while shooting because for years they insisted on using plastic cams and they still use cast risers on most of the stuff they make . If you want to argue bows neither of these companies is cutting edge because this tech hasn't been fresh since the 1980's !

    It sucks being left handed and being in to archery. I’ve wanted an RPM for years! Still using my strike eagle but I want to upgrade

    Do you think the oneida outboard limbs can be replaced with rpm nitro outboards? My upper outboard is twisted, and oneida doesnt sell replacements. I should mention my bow is a phoenix, but im pretty sure its almost the same bow as a kestrel, which i believe, has a lot of compatible parts with the black eagle. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
    Here's some measurements of the phoenix (long draw) outer limb:
    End to end following the outside of the curvature: 13.5" to end of tip, 13" to string groove
    End to end straight across: about 10.5"
    Width of the limb where the screw holes are: a hair under 1.5"
    Thickness where the screw holes are: 0.5"
    Center to center distance between the single screw hole and the double screw holes: 1.75"
    Distance between the double screw holes center to center: 1"

      Just build your own limbs using same thickness with EFG, its not so difficult. Just make sure coat the limbs using just epoxy and catalyst 3/1 mixture

    I have a black eagle prototype like 20yrs old and i was considering getting a new oneida but then i seen the RPM Nitro mag xl. But the only lever bow i ever see is the osprey and im not fond of it. Is the nitro really comparable to the oneida flagship

    • @TexasSlinger
      @TexasSlinger  6 лет назад

      I can only compare it to the BE. The Nitro I would not consider flagship

    • @dustinh4175
      @dustinh4175 5 лет назад

      EBay but man tim wells made the used ones expensive. Its funny tho its like oneida owners took great care of them. Most bows from the 90s are beat up and worth 40 bucks but the oneidas are like new and a good used one for 300ish is average.
