@@HikariVictor If you're running only freshly-captured monsters and the enemy is exactly your level, the fight actually takes a few turns, especially if they have type advantage, so I do get a chance to fuse occasionally.

Hoylake fusion requests. You need to fuse two monsters that aren't necessarily any good, and it's probably safest to do that against something that can't actually fight.

I advocate for more indie titles whose regular enemy encounters include the most unnecessarily awesome, boss ass music
Cassette Beasts is the only rpg where I actually like the regular enemy battle music

Very appropriate lyrics and harmony considering what causes this version of this song to kick in.

The best thing about the fusion and the lyrics, is some of the fusions have their mouth animated in time with the lyrics.

keep my prey at a distance

We can pass the torch, back and forth
Set the world alight
As we fight and unite

Gold plated finish line
A swift kick and a smile to take ‘em by surprise
The lights turned up
You're feeling fine ‘cause your
Engine's on
You start to drive as you
Cross your heart
and hope to die
Two steps back
But three steps forward
You can't relax
Your pounding chest tells you to
Cross your heart
And hope to die
A convoluted twist
I crave the taste of it
A little slice of bliss
Oh I'm feeling this
So put me back in the mix
See how the pain inflicts
See all the boxes ticked
You better watch your six
The lights turned up
You're feeling fine ‘cause your
Engine's on
You start to drive as you
Cross your heart
and hope to die
Two steps back
But three steps forward
You can't relax
Your pounding chest tells you to
Cross your heart
And hope to die

2 steps back, but 3 steps forward
