- Mercedes have just realised a brand new 2020 Mercedes Me Mobile App.
Mercedes Me allows you to access and control functions in your car using your mobile phone.
In this video we take a look at the new Mercedes Me app. The interface, the settings and give it a good ABAUTO test.
For this video we are using the app with my daily car. A 2019 Mercedes C43 AMG. This is the C Class W205 facelift model.

Thank you to all my followers new and old you guys are awesome. One thing I forgot to mention is that here in the UK for some reason we don't get the remote start function. That's why it's missing from the app!

Really good video an very well explained . Ave got cla 2020 I have already go this app but which 1 do I chose to buy there’s vehicle set up , vehicle monitoring which 1 do I chose to activate these features thank you.
@@edreesaljabali4052 Thanks I'm glad you found it helpful. If you have a 2020 you may have these services already and the dealer can activate them. I'd try giving them a call and they should be able to check for you.

Hello, man just bought new mercedes e350e, and i got all those features, only thing is not working is remote car locking, so when i press ”doors” i cant open or lock doors for some reason and same thing for windows. Do you know the reason for that? Thank you for amazing videos.

You didn’t mention that for all these functions, the ability to use all of them has to be purchased , the cheapest one one is I think £29 per year ! Some are paired with another ie. remote door locking and unlocking is paired with remote retrieval of vehicle status ,fuel tyre pressure ,washer fluid plus 2/3 others stats.
Depending on your required functions fees go up and can be purchased for 1,2 or3 years .
Hi Brian, I honestly had no idea sorry :( I've owned 2 Mercedes with Mercedes me, both purchased from new in the UK and I've never had to pay a penny for any of the app features. My first one was a 2017 which had all features for free then my second is the 2019 car demo'd here which I've never had to pay extra for. I even get free sat nav updates through the app. May ask which car model/year you have? I'm curious to which cars have these fees.
Thanks for the tutorial. Before the upgrade to 2020 version, I can see the parking brake and now its no where to be found unless I miss a hidden button, can u pls adv where is the parking brake is located now on the app? I check the Service button n it has all car features except parking brake.

THE ONLY DIFFERENCE ON THE NEW APP TO OLD ONE IS I CAN NOW SEND A DESTINATION TO THE CAR ON THE SAT NAV, THE REST IS BASICALLY THE SAME. MY MILES TO THE GALLON IS ALWAYS DIFFERENT ON HERE TO THE CAR READING, IS YOURS. 2017 C CLASS COUPE.
Is there an official 0-60 timer on the c43 because I have seen some that have but don’t know to access it 😀
There's a lap timer under the AMG screen in the dashboard but I don't think we have a 0-60 timer.
Hey I just got a C43 2020, and I've been messing with the app. A few questions..
1. There was one time where I clicked engine(?) I think, and saw the cars cabin temp... but never saw that again. Have you ever seen this? Or does it only pop up certain times or?
2. I don't have the Eco or Vehicle alarm + Collision feature.. how do I get these?

I noticed on a different video of the SUV that the vehicle had to be already started for the temp features to show.

Hi. Great video. I’ve got a facelift c300. The app doesn’t show any of the functionality for me. I got the adapter installed and only the adapter app works. Do you know why? I’m in Australia.
Hi, I'm not too familiar with the adapter setup but over here the dealer has to setup your car and link it to your account so this may be why it's not appearing. I'd give your local dealer a call to check. Hope you manage to get it setup :)

Hi mate, If I'm honest I'm not 100% sure but I can only imagine they will roll it out globally. It was a bit of a surprise I received an email to download it last week. It downloads as an separate new app rather than an update so make sure to search and check the app store/market place.
For india its an OTA update for new cars which has mbux system they will send ota to mbux informant system and the app will be upgraded in plystore on July 1st 2020 so all the Windows close functions and services appointments and vehicle finder headlight and horn off/on will be added as additional features

You can lock and unlock just like using your key, No remote start? Can you open windows or get cc working on a hot day?
Unless there’s been an update in the last year I can’t believe the limited functionality of this app. My Volvo app allows remote start, pre warm, pre cool and other functions missing from here. What a shame.
I'm hoping Mercedes will add a lot more features now they are pushing the EV cars, especially with the W206 C class but I guess we will have to wait and see.
what happened to Navigation?
I’m getting a used 2021 GLA with 18k miles from outside dealer, it should still be under warranty however. I wonder if I can still purchase this Mercedes Connect
Hey Riri, If the car had the option from the factory it should come with it. You get all Mercedes Me services for free for the first 3 years unless it was not part of the spec. If not I think you can pay to add them on.
What about geo fencing and all the internal stuff on the car that you can do on the app?

Hey Sufenta, This is not something I've tried myself but I think the best way to do this would be to use Android auto or Apple car play. All facelift models have this but if you have a pre facelift I believe they added it as an optional extra on mid 2017 onwards models.
question I have a benz that is used do i have to pay any fees or anything like that?
Hi Jayson, It will all depend on the spec of the car from factory and model. Some will give all the functionality free for the first 3 years then you will have to pay a yearly fee. Some older cars may require an adapter to connect up too while some may not be compatible at all. If you contact a local Mercedes-Benz they should be able to check If your car is compatible and how much it will cost to enable. I hope this helps :)
Is that Paris House? not far from Me, for me the App is useless can't see the point, but then i only have the new CLA maybe with the AMG you get more options.
I think that may be up the road from the drone shots :) The app I find pretty useful but not essential. It's nicer in countries that allow the remote start feature.

Great video and very useful... Can I ask, why can't we have remote start on our UK cars? Is there anyone that has successfully hacked this with Mercedes Me to make it work?
Thanks! With remote start in the UK I think its purely a legal/law thing. We have laws against running a car engine without being in the car on a public road. You can actually get fined for that.. Silly I know! Prob prevents them giving us this feature. Remote start is possible though through hacks I'm sure. People often get it included in trackers/ghost systems.

Hello, can you start the motor, rev it, turn on the heating, air con and seat heat/ventilation via the app?
In the UK we dont have the engine start due to a silly old law but I think you will have it in Australia :) seat heating and air temps I think is only if the car has an aux motor.

I've had my car for two years and the app has never worked. It originally gave me the odometer reading in addition to the number plate. Then it just gave the registration. A week ago, I got an email saying my battery was critical. For some reason I checked the app and, lo and behold, it gave me all sorts of info, tyre pressures, fuel etc etc. I was delighted. However, it's gone back to being useless again after two days.
Starter battery "Partially Charged" does that require any attention? My CLA always shows that
How often do you drive? If your driving everyday it should keep a good charge. Unless your getting a low battery warning in the digital dash I wouldn’t be worried though 👍

Hello - So, on the app on my vehicle section nothing appears. Could it be that my GLC 250 D doesnt have enough functions? Or is it not available in my region? Please help
Hi, you may need to contact Mercedes me or your local dealer to make sure your car has been linked to your account. Since the car can be unlocked by the app it has to be linked by Mercedes themself before it appears in the app. Hope this helps and you get it to work.

Hi - great review of the app thanks. Does the app give you the ability to remote start the vehicle? I can see this feature on some older videos but don't see it in the app that I've just downloaded today?
Hi Mate,
Here in the UK we don't get the engine start feature, I think it's due to laws/restrictions. It's against the law here to leave your engine running not inside the car on a public road for example, silly I know! In America this should be available on all versions of the app so it may be you've seen the American version. I hope this helps! :)
ABAUTO Hi. It’s a strange one. I had a Jaguar XF until a couple of days ago and that had the option. On a cold morning I’d start my car from my bed and by the time I got to it, it was cosy warm and ready to drive off. I used to work for Jaguar until yesterday actually and loved this feature. I have friends who work for Mercedes in Milton Keynes so will give them a poke to see if it is something we can look forward to getting. Watched a few of your videos and really like them so have subscribed :-)

@@ABAUTOAMG Small world indeed - I think someone mentioned MK in the other comments. I worked for VWG for about 15 years and have been working on the SOTA programme for JLR - updating software over the air for the last two years. Been really interesting working on and off-board the vehicles. Some v clever people - and there will of course be the same type of people within Mercedes. I've just messaged one of my ex-colleagues, who now works for Mercedes and she has said she will speak to someone next week to see whats going on with this. As you said - and others on the internet have said - the legality of this feature in the UK is often put forward as the reason for it not being available - but having worked on this sort of remote technology - with legal teams around the world (China is a minefield and ever changing) - I don't think this is the case. Anyway - we will see what they say and I'll come back here to let people know what the line is. :-)

Thanks Chewe, I think there are some. I know for sure that here in the UK we don't get the remote start function. I've had a few people with older cars report to me that Mercedes are charging subscription fees for some of the basic features too. I've not experienced this myself but both cars I've tested have been under 3 years old.

Can you add more than 1 account per car? Or can you remove the current email associated with it for a new email?
Hey Eric, I'm not sure if you can do this. It might be possible but the dealer syncs the accounts up for you due to security since the app can unlock the car etc.

No problem hopefully they can help. When I bought my car I had to get them to sync it up to my account. Mercedes me have their own helpline too, My car has a Mercedes me button at the top by the reading light buttons that you can call them directly on. Yours may have this too.

Hey Tania, If the car has the connectivity package you should be able to use it. It’s a factory option though so the car may not have it. If not you can get an adapter though I think. If you contact a Mercedes dealer they may be able to sell you one. One thing to be aware too though is a lot of the app services are free for the first year then Mercedes charge to activate them for longer.

I don't think Mercedes has this yet. It's only unlocking with the app with a tap and drag.
How can you set the doors to locks automatically when you drive off ....I’ve not been able do this on mine
Hey Nadeem, In my car the doors auto lock once I reach 10mph. Does this not happen in your car?

We have a Maybach 2020 s class and are desperately trying to buy WiFi packages etc so we can actually use the screens in the back, but so far no one with Mercedes can help us at all. Clueless organization when it comes to Maybach afterservice.

I think it depends on the age of the car and package from factory. I've not had to pay extra for any of these yet. I bought my car early 2019.
My husband signed up and doesn’t know how to share it with me. It’s my car and I am getting frustrated. How do I get the app to work for me if he is the administrator?
On the app click on the icon in the top left corner then on help then theres a direct call tab. Call them from there and they should be able to help you directly through your account. Hopefully they can help fix this, might be an error on there end.

Ah, interesting perhaps mine will require this once the car is 3 years old. Its 2 years currently. How frustraiting when the cars are expensive enough!

Hey @hasanalhennawi570, Unfortunately this is only available on the EQ electric cars since It they use the EV battery to power it and we can't remote start our cars in the UK because starting/running a combustion engine without being inside the car is illegal so the manufactures can't add it. Silly law I know! :(
Need access to turn on heated seats, set air con etc
That is possible in the EQ range, in the EQC we can set a temp in the cabin.
Is the app available worldwide. And which models if Mercedes are compatible with this app?
Hi Sani, It depends on the car. It's an optional extra for a lot of new cars but Mercedes sell an adapter to get it working with some older cars too. I think its worldwide but there are different app versions around the world.

Hey, In the older Mercedes I think you have to have an adapter and some type of subscription (yearly) for a lot of these features so I'm afraid it won't help you access your car :( You may need to find a automotive locksmith to get in.

How to connect the me app with the car?
Hi mate. This has to be done at the dealer. They link it to a email/mercedes me account. You will need to check this is an option included in your cars factory order also.
Can you start your car remotely via the app ?
Yep but the feature is sadly disabled in the UK due to laws :(

Hi Rahman, Yep you need to create a Mercedes me account. These features have all been free for new cars but I've heard if you have an older car you have to pay a plan.
Thanks. I have a C Class 2015 year. Once I enter the VIN number and if required to pay. Is the car connected through the app? or I need to do additional connec through the multi media system if yes, how please?
No mention of where/how to get the app and more importantly you need an adapter plugged into the car to use the it !!
Sorry for not including these the app can easily be found in the app store just search Mercedes Me :) I'm actually not sure about the adapter. I'm guessing this is for older cars? My past two Mercedes have had this from factory without needing an adapter.

Hi Sean, which model car do you have? The car has to have the Mercedes me factory option in most cases to sync up.
If I don’t have the app, can I call Mercedes Benz and ask for location history, to see where my car have been all day?
I don't think so :( you would need a third party tracker for this

Yep you can use find my car and even do walking directions. Great for when you park your car in a big car park. I am going to be doing a full review of the updated 2022 app on my CLA45s soon too so I will be sure to show this feature 👍
If I use this Mercedes me app to connect my mercedes, if I need tp subscribe a mobile service and install in car for connection ?
I think it depends on your original car spec. Mine had "preparation for Mercedes me services" on my order form. Then when I took delivery we had to set it up and link the car to an account.

Have you tried calling Mercedes me? They are normally very helpful. There should be a Mercedes me button above the center console/by the mirror depending on your car and spec. Hope this helps! :)

Hi Istanbul, I think you need to pay to retro fit to older cars and there's an adapter but here in the UK if you buy your car from new you get this for free. All the features shown here came with my car without having to pay any extra. I assume it's possible to transfer the free features across to the next owner also if you are buying used.

It should be for free, since other cheaper vehicles has the same function with no cost. It's unacceptable that we have to pay to open or close the doors of the Mercedes paying an annual fee. And the annual fee is very expensive.

Hi Buster, I diden't realise how much Mercedes were charging for these services. They all came free with my car but I've since discovered they are only free for the first 3 years from new.

Yeah :( It's a shame we're not allowed remote start in the UK. We have a silly law that It's illegal for an engine running in a car with none inside.
