I love this song. It takes me back to sad, but valued memories.
My foster son, who passed away in Melbourne, Australia in 1993, before his twenty-third birthday, would play this song on repeat until he would fall asleep.
The lead singer, Alex Smith, put so much emotion into this song. Each time I hear it, I am close to tears. He seems to speak for TJ who, at the time, knew that he was terminally ill.
Thank you so much for sharing this piece of Australian magic with the rest of the world.
Even without this clip I don't understand why this wasn't a global mega-hit!
It was very hard for aussie bands to make it in the US :/
@@daarkvaala2596 Men at Work "Business As Usual" and Michael Jackson "Thriller" were the first cassettes my parents ever bought me. (I'm from Chicago.)
In the 80s…even our sound checks were amazing.
One of my faves from the 80's! Others don't remember the name or the band until I play it, then it's 'Oh I LOVE this one!!'
Wow what a voice, should have been massive worldwide
I am obsessed...literally have listened to this 50 times. Perfection. The warm up has his true essence.... God truly blessed this man.
This song is my song lately...I listen like a lot everyday...love this song ....
Certainly, certainly and for sure.
The young man that sometimes still resides in me brought me here. I miss the eighties. Best music and decade ever.
Omg he did this song right, took me right back to the 80's
Yep, it's a Moving Pictures original song. Covered by Shannon Noll many years later.
The few fans during the sound check got a real treat! Love this.
This never gets old!!! What a voice!!
Holy shit!!! That was a damn near religious experience!!!! Bravo!!!
Whoa!! I'm blown away.......his vocals are terrific! I've got goose bumps. And this is just a rehearsal!!!🤩
I decided to sing this at karaoke one night. All went swimmingly until right at the end, and I suddenly realized there was no way I was going to hit those high notes... and I didn't! Still a fantastic song! And such a simple accompaniment compared to many songs.
An amazing sound check
Great set of pipes right there!!
Still sounds the same 32 years on.
What a voice!
Wow how good was this👌🍻
Leave nothing in the tank !! What a voice.
What a voice and so damn handsome.
you are 100 percent right there...off the charts!!!
This was on the radio as my parents drove me to school to drop me off to the waiting coach for my Central Austrail school camp/tour. It is amazing how these aussie 80's teleport you back to a certain moment in time.
Classic OZ song. Great voice
mother F
Alex can really sing that is quite the voice !!!!!
World class vocalist, who deserved more hit songs and super stardom. The best aussie voice next to Farnham probably.
Jimmy Thunder...you are so correct!!
I'll throw Adam Thompson from Chocolate Starfish in there as the best voice with range in Australia!
I remember this song. Hurting once again glad I was able to hear those words once again!
Huge, warm, comforting hugs to you my friend.
Are you ok? 😢
Mmmm that takes me back.
Great voice
Wow!
What a great voice
Passionate singing, touches thr heart ❤
Even in a practice warm up he craps all over that Noll's Guy...... This was his song always will be....
100 million % correct!
@@dvdvdvdv agreed
You just take more than you give
AWESOME-WHAT A GREAT VOICE
The 80s spoiled us. Proof
As I’ve stated on other great 80s tunes
Extraordinaria voz‼️👍🏻🔥🔥
Full of passion, lovelly
Wow....
classic
That slap delay off the grandstands makes me smile. Awesome.
Are you sure theres not a bit too much delay n reverb on his voice🤔🤔 creating that slap delay🤔🤔
@@nicholaskovacs207 I think this version’s powerful ending is the best I have heard
@@techguy9023 yeah it sounds great he nails it well😊😊 but i was referring to the comment made about "slap delay off the grandstands" its actually too much reverb....but they are doing a sound check so this is understandable 🤗🤗
A Springsteen influenced #1 in Australia before most Australians knew who Springsteen was.
I think he is way better then Springsteen! No offense to Bruce.
This was just a sound check, most artists these days wouldnt have that much talent in their little finger
Holy shit!
Probably will get those who disagree but i like this better than the original release and video! .
Would have been a great official video! .
If only a few years earlier! .
Alex Smith, was so good to hear this bloke in his prime, what a shame he disappeared.
I guess the Frost's were touring 1927's debut album at this time
thedys70 he and Moving Pictures have been touring again. Try and get to see them when CoVid settles. Theyre still amazing!!
@@suzmac4873 Sounds like a plan Suz!
@@suzmac4873 I wish they would play in America in 2021/22
INXS how could you have not called him better than micheal
I love oz
"take a step back and see the little people"..
What about me? What about YOU? I hope the little boy at the corner shop finally got the attention of the nasty clerk behind the counter and was able to buy whatever it was the he needed to buy. It's only fair. After all it's the little people that make the big people big/
Were the vacation students on for this sound mix? Great song, would love to hear it tidied up a bit, a fucking Aussie classic deserves minimal distortion surely
Bloke can sing.
Was this Olympic Park in Melbourne? I recall being at a festival in 87 but not sure if this is the same one.
This was at the Melbourne show grounds and the show was called under the southern cross
After 6 years of mutual true love. Her family always came first.
And in the end this song finally made me end it.
"What about me, it isn't fair"
