I painted my rug a few years ago, and am about to repaint it. Just a little tip...if you add equal part water, floetrol and paint to a spray bottle. Shake the mixture every 5ish minutes, spray the rug and use a bristle brush to brush the color into the rug! Doing it this way kept my rug softer, it got a little crunchy but after a day or two of normal use it softened back to normal!

Use Chalk paint for fabric. No crunchies.

I cant believe the women was charging 50 for that rug. It shouldn't of been more than 20. Inwould of gave it away free because it should out on the tree lawn! You did a great job!

"whenever" does not mean the same thing as "when". Why do Americans use the wrong word just because it's longer? I keep hearing it and it just makes the US education system sound useless

8 hundred dollars 😳, I don’t know what type of rug that is because you can buy one that size for about £100

You should've used liquid fabric softner mixed with paint. It would've been soft.

  • @maxine4898

She should have paid you to take it away 😄

I made the mistake of buying a rug for $40 on FB market place and it stunk so bad like a dog that I couldn't use it. Thankfully I had a dumpster available to me to throw it away in. I knew it was a mistake as soon as I drove away with that stupid stinky thing in my car. I brought it home and was going to try to clean it with the steam cleaner but the smell was in the backing and I knew I wouldn't be able to get the smell out.

Next time add liquid fabric softer to your paint ❤ that texture you have will work perfect for the patio or out doors.

Sanding between coats will soften the fibers.

I wonder if it would help to take a heavy duty metal wire brush to it to break up the crunchies and soften it?

This would be great in a sunroom! If it is outdoor paint, it would work for a patio also. Thanks for sharing!
