Amazing animals. If I may, I'd like to ask some questions:
- Are plastic nets too weak for tegus? Do you think metallic nets are mandatory?
- I live in Sicily and here temperatures are 95 in summer, but might reach 45 in deep winter.
How would you configurate lights and heating considering these temperatures? I mean, in summer I would use nothing but the sunlight right? (maybe just a spot light for basking and maybe uvb)
But shall I put a ceramic bulb (with thermostate) in the warm part of the cage where the tegu will hybernate in winter? What temperature is good for tegu to hybernate properly?

First comment! There's a high possibility that I will be buying a chacoan tegu from you guys during hatching season. Im still deciding between a tegu and an albino burm for my 6x3x3 enclosure :)
Do you already have a tegu? Or a large snake? Tegus are amazing reptiles and with a lot of interaction they can become like dogs, when I get home from school I open my girls cage, and she wanders around my room/upstairs of my house, they can be so funny to watch.
The wire on the cages will give them sores on their noses from rubbing. Should use plastic mesh.

These things are all over the place in Florida. Go down for a week and look around. Some guy who hunts them has found over 800 in two years. Tegus eat anything that they can swallow. Florida bird eggs are under assault by these things . Why buy them?
Aren't you contaminating the fresh hearts by putting them in such a dirty bowl? A soak in some hot water and detergent would have that cleaned in a jiffy with just a few swishes and a rinse. Raw chicken meat can contain a lot of bacteria.
