Du bist ein sehr erfolgreicher und gefragter Trompeter, spielst in der Provinz Brass Machine, verkiekst halb einen Ton am Anfang, spielst danach ein krass musikalisches Improvisationssolo und irgendwelche Trottel im Internet, die wahrscheinlich nicht mal einen geraden Ton auf ihrem Instrument hinbekommen reduzieren die gesamte Performance darauf.
Was at the first performance of this song by the United States Army Blues in 1985 and my teacher, Dave Detweiler, was the soloist. Not sure what happened here, but yikes. For starters, this tune is called “Scream Machine” not “Brass Machine”. Second, it was written for a Big Band, to feature the Trumpet section, and their tight upper registers, and not an ensemble. Third, while the soloist had good improv skills, it was way too long, and the equipment he is using was inadequate and left the upper register out of reach. Translated, it rambled on and on. Talk about taking the wind out of the tune. Sorry, but this arrangement and the interpretation here…??? Yeah, just not feeling it.

Ich liebe jedes einzelne Arrangement von Brass Machine. Big Band vom Gymnasium meiner schwester hat das mal gespielt.
We like his beautiful, full tone quality and his nice even vibrato.
