In Forbidden Lies, filmmaker Anna Broinowski investigates the case of Norma Khouri Bagain, a Jordanian women who wrote the best selling Forbidden Love, a supposedly nonfiction book about an 'honor killing' that allegedly took place in Amman. Forbidden Love book was interpreted by many Jordanians, including prominent women, as an misrepresentation of Islam. As the book's errors and impossibilities were pointed out, Khouri's story and reputation began to fall apart.

The geographical errors let me know something was "weird" about this book when I first read it. I don't even live in the Middle East and I know which countries border Jordan. Aside from the errors in geography , the book was heavy handed and mawkish (example; the hospital had a "dimly lit hallway" , all the men are violent save for the Christian love interest etc.) It felt too much like a horrible lifetime movie to be accurate.
Khouri cares about making money not helping women.

I do agree with her on one point that this kind of crimes should not exist at all, because I don't believe they are part of our religion, it's just TRADITIONS and not ISLAM,
I haven't watched the whole documentary, but I know that she's lying about a lot of things, maybe to get some more fame!!!!!
