Nathan, thank you for all the hard work producing interesting videos. What you did with the carbon fiber inserts is better than the factory look. Understated and elegant. Happy new year to you and yours.
Those holes are from factory, they broke the tabs when they removed them for the wrap, therefore they had to use double sided tape! They also shaved what held those tabs to the trim strips.
The proper way to do this is to buy new moulding with the fasteners. I would worry about water intrusion from those holes. MB didn't just drill holes for giggles, they are there to receive fasteners, don't go cheap on this high end brick.
LOoks Great !.. like you said, the narrow type trims look WAAY better than the old.. clunky.. bumper-style side trim of the older year stuff no-matter what car company I THINK.. but yes looks Great. Clean, neat, classy. Like a Merc Good stuff.
Little late to the party. I’m just catching up on your vids. I really like the look of it without any trim. I know it might be costly but I’d have a shop weld up those holes and paint it.
Great looking trim, it’d look even better tho if the correct piece of trim would sit on its correct front fender so it matched the panel gap in the back towards the piece of trim with the AMG script. 👍🏼
How’s the quality of the carbon fiber trim you have ? I just ordered mine from eBay from china. What do you think of the quality and look? Does it look legit ?
I was thinking the same thing. The big chunky trim really has no function and detracts from the appearance of the vehicle. There is already a nice body line. Why do you need the stock trim? I like it.
Good call! Used to do the same thing on old Volvo 240s. Took off the trim and used electrical tape to cover the holes!!!

Looks way better now than when you got it. Some people have no taste, vinyl wrapping a beautiful vehicle.
Looks a lot better than I expected!

How can the tabs be removed without damaging it?
Will that really keep water out of those holes long term?
Looks really good. Have to say I quite like the matt black on roof and hood too, breaks up the acres of gloss black !!!
I like the carbon inserts look but I would never remove the original rubber trim. Can you not re-re trim without removing the thick rubber trim?

There is no fix for this guys that spent the nearly $2k for new trims said they dont sit flat
Nice laser tool and that other thing to press on ! The bonnet is not shiny, did they repaint it afterwards? :)
Yes they sprayed it satin black, i will fix it dont worry
@@NathansBMWWorkshop Yep I know it´s getting prima de luxe :)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!🎊🎈🎆
HAPPY NEW YEAR NATHAN
I wonder if maybe it has aftermarket fenders or doors on?
I need to know how to remove the bolt in the bottom of the bush grille so I can remove it.

Where did you find the carbon fiber trim kit at??

I agree with Brig G, the wrapping guys fucked up the trim and used the tape

It’s to stop other doors from hitting your car in a parking lot
G wagon sure is ugly, X5M for the win.
that looks perfect, original way too bulky, great job!
Why???? That looks cheap as hell. Smh 🤦🏻♂️

Kind of dumb that there are holes under the trim.
