Always loved the colors, latitude, and motion on CineAlta cameras. Just bring the price down, allow us to use regular pci-e m.2 ssd, and it's a win win
Luke M, you can watch Bad Boys For Life 4K Netflix or whatever streamers you have. This movie is shot entirely with Sony CineAlta Venice. All I can say is superb dynamic range and stunning colors.
6K!!! Looks neat, but I am still waiting to be able to stream 4K HDR content to my 4K screen. Would be really nice to finally get 4K HDR content on PlayStation Video for PS4 Pro users. I am sure this camera will produce some amazing content, but when I can't even get Spider-Man: Homecoming in 4K on your flagship Computer and Entertainment system via your digital store front, it is a bit difficult to get excited about 6K.
I would love to have this camera, however, it still feels lower quality than film. The guy said that it has what digitial cameras, including this one lacks: depth of field. With digital everything seems: PLAIN.
It looks amazing...but poor compared to film. You can easily destroy digital while comparing something filmed lets say in the 80s side by side with something digitally recorded now. This quality, to me, is perfectly acceptable for tv shows, not full length feature movies.
this is a cinema camera. when you watch a movie in theaters most are moving towards 4k (laser imax), and film imax is something like 18k resolution. 6k means you will get a much better 4k due to down-sampling (and rgb subsampling). 6k also allows for post stabilization and re-framing. even on a 1080p screen you can often see the advantages of shooting 6k (check out davedugdales gh5 vs a6500 vs c200 test. even on my 1080 screen in 4k youtube quality I could see the difference)
+J.C. L......you would have a hard time filming revenant on film....which looked great and was shot with minimal to no lighting on alexa 65mm. I do love the look of film, but with the super high end digital you can emulate it so closely that 99% of people can't tell. ultimately it's the tool that let's you tell your story the best, and film isn't always the fastest most flexible medium to work on (granted sometimes that's a good thing, because it can make people stop and think first)
Anybody know if the Venice uses the Sony IMX410 image sensor. Looking at the Sony published IMX410 sensor specs and readout modes, and window cropping, they appear to line up identically with what the Venice does today.
Haha I really liked the music in this introduction video :D The yellows still seem to be too strong.. RED cameras actually go green when too much yellow intensity
Great, now develop a 6k projector for theaters. Your existing line is getting a bit old. And is this the first time Sony has ditched the alphanumeric naming system in favor of an actual name?
Does it have a flippy outtie tilty screeny?
tiwty fwippy scween.
Outstanding. Sony.

I can't wait to see James Cameron put this beauty to use for the next Avatar.

Good looking camera. Promo video had some... quirks.
2:08 Arghh... No rear lens cap for that $20.000 lens?
Haha well spotted...
This camera would be great on filming my lifts.
How much slow motion FPS will be in the package (after all software updates) in HD/4K? - especially with X-OCN (R7 recorder)

Thats not what 6k is for right now. Its for more information and reframing in post. Not for displaying.

Greetings from Turkey didi is going to be a question as a Sony camera in venice APR should be done several times a day ??
Anybody know if the Venice uses the Sony IMX410 image sensor. Looking at the Sony published IMX410 sensor specs and readout modes, and window cropping, they appear to line up identically with what the Venice does today.
OMG, this is awesome
I want!!
What lenses were used?
for the Sony Venice short film, dig, they used Arri master anamorphic lenses and hk premier lenses
Was the Venice used to film this?
EX3 *cough...
소니 엑스페리아1 폰에 다 들어가 있는 기술

Can one be rented? Or given ? Lol Peace Christo 👽
LOL. 500 ISO and 24FPS top speed at 6K??? External recored for RAW??? LOL.
Black magic.
I love blackmagic, but this sony is full frame not super 35, big difference
🤙👍
COol a camera that 99.999999% of the planet cant afford and will never use.
Is that a serious question.
you rent you don't buy this man
oBVIOUSLY I WAS JUST JOKING THAT HOW TINY THE GROUP OF PEOPLE THAT WILL USE THIS WILL BE. I left caps lock on by mistake too lazy to go back.
Hahhahahah CAPS LOCK xD
Great job, Sony. Once again a day late and a dollar short. Expect that this camera will be a complete bust...if you ever release it at all!
The fact that this has no frame rate higher than 60fps makes this useless.
"useless"
