This is one of the greatest truest songs ever written. I have shared on FaceBook so many times but get nothing not even a like! I don't understand it what so ever.
Well I LIKE IT! And just about anything Delbert's been involved in (and this is comin' from a musician); BTW...did you know that the high harmony is Vince Gill? And I know it's been 4 years since you posted...but remember: try to always let the songs ring out to their true recorded end... :-)
This my mine and my husband song - we didn't play it at our wedding 23 years ago because it was to personal but it is still the truth today. Jesus keeps sending me Angels- Mark is the greatest angel Jesus ever sent my way. God Bless everyone listening to this. Love, Gretchen
DELBERT has never gotten the public recognition he so richly deserves but musicians from John Lennon to well..bluegrass legend Rikky Scaggs all know respect admire and would love to work with him. He turns 72/73 nov 4th. 73 pretty sure. I sure hope we get a President in time to give DELBERT A KENNEDY CENTER AWARD. The list of performers wanting to play would fill a 3 day 72 hour concert.
A man who has been in the music business that others has admired for many many years. A true singer and performer that has made his star in the business and has helped so many other singers look up to him. The best concerts I've ever seen was his and he can pick anyone he wants to sing with and they come running. This song just shows his true belief and I'm still am and will always be his biggest fan. A class act any where he goes...
Delbert LIVE is addictive. Once you see him LIVE his CD's are just barely enough to keep you from Jonesing. He puts so much more into live shows than a CD can capture.
This song I heard for the first time last night on a hit tv show The Defenders and when Jim Belushi sang part of it on the show I cried. It is a good song and Delbert sings it great aswell

Frankie Miller ........what a voice he shared with us ....damn he hit some fine blood vessels in my Heart at times ....Delbert just hits vessels from my life .....
I first heard this song during our 162 mile drive to an airport the night after my mom died unexpectedly. For years it made me cry because she was a good person and a good mother. At last I can listen to it and celebrate all the angels in my life.
A beautiful song, an amazing, bluesy, raspy voice! Like a fine wine, Delbert gets better with age. Our Okla. Vince Gill plays backup, how nice, one of the best guitar players ever.
Love this song. My son said it was our song. He died in 2016 Today Jan. 2 is his birthday. Happy birthday to my Ryan. Thank you Delbert Mclinton . Love ur much. Saw him in Caruthersville, MO in 99 or so. That voice is truly amazing. So many good tunes. Such a way of touching our hearts. I actually wore this CD out. I have others but never wore one out . IMO best of his albums.
Delbert, Vince and Leroy--can it get any better than that? Love this song and had never seen the video before, so thanks so much for posting. I truly believe Delbert McClinton to be a National Treasure.
+Jessie Carver My sister also loved this song. She would rock her baby listening to it. She passed away suddenly and her baby was 13 months old at the time, now her baby is a senior in high school. She is now our daughter. I raised her after she died. The song was played at her funeral too and her daughter's name is Jesse. Pronounced Jessie. I love it and I know when I listen to it she is right next to me listening too.

I saw Delbert in Virgina in 2002, the man I was with kept screaming out his name over and over again, I know now why he loved Delbert so much. My favorite is "You were never mine".........
Delbert is one of the best Blues singers I ever heard plus he plays a marvelous harmonica...a real pro player who has dubbed in on a lot of other peoples albums. Texas was blessed when he was born.
BLUEIYEDSOUL: You are so right! I've felt the same way for years. Delbert is such an American treasure. The slide on this tune reminds of both David Lindley and Lowell George. Two more American treasures. Pure and awesome.
Never heard of him till I saw him in Columbia SC and listened to him till he quit playing. But I forgot about the other bands playing. I was impressed. I thought I had a eargasm. So now I own everything that he produced.
I've seen DM about 6 times in Myrtle Beach, SC. He puts on a great show. This song is my cell phone ring tone and simply gives me goose bumps every time I hear it.
This song is just great. Delbert's vocals are great, Parnell is great and Vince Gill, everybody's fave guest backing vocalist, can bring something extra to any song.
Hey Delbert You were so Awesome on this song. So much so that I bought the entire C D for this song and I love the entire C D so much that well at the time I didn't have a cC D burner so I mad tapes for all of my family and many friends. See I had to go through Major brain and spine cord operation 7 1/2 hrs on the table This song and you helped me pull through a hard time But God did it all and had many angels for me
I have to agree with you, recknot. When I watched this on television, it definately caught me. I just couldn't walk away. I went through hell trying to remember the name, too. lol. Very nice!
Hey Carl - remember when Mike got up behind the piano in that big chapel and did this one at your funeral? We’ll talk all about it one day when we meet again. Miss you, bro.
Anyone notice this video is full of sets of twins??? The guitar solos are masterful and Delbert and Vince are vocally captivating . . . Those twins gotta mean something. Angels come as twins? You tell me, sir.
Sending me angels was not the only Frankie Miller song that Delbert covered. Be good to yourself and A fool in love were two others. And then there's the fantastic duet with Frankie Miller, Beginner at the blues, on the album Double Take. The Scottish musician is one of the most underrated songwriters ever. It's just a shame that he hasn't been able to make music since bleeding to death in 1994.
Love this video. I am from the south and it reminds me of the religiosity there. We all need to listen to the words and the imagery they invoke. Great song! Love the backup vocals by Vince Gill.
I just post this song on FB. There is someone who checks on me sometimes twice a week. I know he wishes and prays for my well being. God sending his angels, that's you JM, Thanks.

Delberts main Sax man, "the Snake" , real name Don Wise is a killer player...he worked with our band back in Okc, Okla and we were so very thrilled when Delbert hired him way back when...I think it was maybe late 70s or very early 80s. On top of being such a talent on sax, Don was just a super nice cat. Don has his own recording career as well...not sure if he has any videos on here though.
This guy is seriously underrated in the music world...he's got more heart and soul than 90% of what's out there today. Rock on Delbert!
One of my all-time favorites
Love him. Got his autograph in Natchez, Ms.
Absolute truth! Delbert is in a class by himself
@@didiwinger2361 Well said Di Di. Thank you for your input!

I listen to this song often-it's awesome, amazing and true. All the better sung by Delbert MClinton!
A man that has LeRoy Parnell and Vice Gill in the wing is SPECIAL!!!
A man who has been in the music business that others has admired for many many years. A true singer and performer that has made his star in the business and has helped so many other singers look up to him. Delbert McClinton Sending Me Angels

Nice guitar work from Lee Roy parnell too ! The man can play a beautiful slide ...
+Chris kettleman You know that you have clout in Nashville when Leroy and Vince Gill are your backing musicians.
love Lee Roy's slide
Yep...no flash, just pure taste! I love the final chord of the [mid song] solo - picked only once, but "shimmied" a couple of times....
love, love, love Delbert.. always have, always will.. he just keeps getting better!

goose bumps, such truth sent to us in a most beautiful way!!
Definitely. Filled with truth. Honesty.
Thank you Delbert , David loved you so there fore I do too!
Some people lose their voices with age. Delbert sounds great as a middle aged guy. Probably better than when he was younger.
I saw Malford Milligan do this with most of Storyville, in Austin last week. AWESOME.
When my time comes I told the family, if ya don't play this. I Will come back and haunt you.
That was the first time I ever heard that song and it is so awesome thanks for sharing really needed to hear that right now
