The pastel de choclo is totally worth it, often you don't have the opportunity to try it. As far as I'm concerned, there in Chile, they follow the traditional receipt. That's how they preserve the original flavor. Nice video!
Charquican and marine cheese empanada (with shrimps or crab with mushrooms and a lot of cheese!). Also Carbonada is good: a cozy and tasty dish. Chupe de jaiba is the crab cake with melting cheese. Also a great chupe is the centolla type (spider crab?). Love this!! And the asado is great, similar to the argentinian one.

I spent a few weeks in Chile a few years and travelled through the country from south to north. I noticed that in the south, the food was bland and lacked flavour, however as I travelled northwards it definitely improved. I love Chile though and it remains my favourite country out of any I’ve visited, it is fantastic.

dominos make them all wrong. you never put tomato on top of palta. never. the correct order is: salchicha, tomato, palta, mayo, and then some aderezos like ketchup or mustard.

No charquicán? I lived in Santiago, Chile for a number of years, mid '90s. First thing I noticed that is different is the license plates aren't long and the buses (micros) aren't yellow. Foodwise, I loved completos but the ones I had always had a bit more on them. The tomato, mayo, and avocado, but every single one I had (and I went to over a dozen places) also added aji, something called "chukrut" (probably spelled it wrong but I think this is the word), and mustard. Every empanada de pino I 've ever had, meat wise, is what is shown in the video. The difference I ran into is that there was always 1 egg, 1 olive, and 1 raisin. I don't know how true this is but someone down there told me that it was symbolic of something and that those 3 things were put in a certain part of the empanada. I also had homecooked meals when visiting friends. Things not shown in this video such as Porotos con Riendas (love this soup), Sopaipillas (another favorite), Lentejas Chilena, and Calzones Rotos. I miss their blackberry jam and bread. I also miss the ice cream, either lucuma or chirimoya. The video makes me want to visit again.
Good thing you tried the completo although I don't know why Domino's has this obssesion with putting the ingredients in such a messy and non-functional order. The correct order to put the ingredients is first the sausage obviously, then tomato, then avocado and mayo on top. Domino's is the only place that puts the ingredients in the worst order, all other places serve the ingredients in the "right" order which solves the problem of ingredients falling all over the place when you're eating your completo.

10 Años trabajando en turismo Chileno y no he conocido al primer turista que sinceramente haya disfrutado la comida acá.

Y no, el completo no es algo de lo que estar orgulloso. Sorry. Pero no tiene nada de malo no tener buena comida, Chile sigue siendo muy turístico, solo que la cocina no es su fuerte
@@Reinhardt1912 Habiendo vivido en Colombia y en Argentina (siendo chileno), puedo decir que en ese caso, casi ningún país de LATAM podría tener de fuerte su comida, excepto dos o tres países, y eso es mucho decir.

That completo is a total mess..dont buy from pos places like domino's. Buy from a carrito or ask a chilean where to get good completos.
