Yes cant cope it
I struggled to copy too. Here is the title so you can just search "Upgrade Your Note-Taking the Easy Way"
Seems RUclips has removed the hyperlink feature for whatever reason. Apparently changed as of this past August. I’ve seen an uptick of creators making shorts from long form videos and linking back to the original in the title section, this is probably why

I always feel like he keeps saying simple things in a complicated way
I think it's because he uses a lot of the terms he learnt through his study, which makes the stuff he talks about hard to grasp without prior knowledge of the term he uses.

"offload cognitive resources to represent that schema in a single format" just say you want to make notes bro
he's explaining *in what way* he takes notes, since the question is about different styles of taking notes.
if you answer the question "what is the best way to take notes" with "you should take notes," that's not much of an answer, which is why he said what he said instead.
@@xXx_Regulus_xXx except those words didn't actually provide any extra information on how he takes notes, it would've been literally synonymous to say "take notes in a single format, in a single place."
For mind numbing facts, flashcards and note taking software with backlinks such as Obsidian are essential if combined with spaced repetition. It’s concepts and you miss the point. It doesn’t matter which app you use.
The whole point is you just need an infinite canvas. Not "here's the one app you need' but instead "just grab one with infinite canvas and get on with your life."
@@dialgamor1548 "an app with an infinite canvas such as _____" would have been more useful
Honestly, you should look back at the way you edit and present the infor in your short videos. It's not straight to the point. You just keep pushing around the bush and say some unessary stuff that can skip right away. Sometimes, you talk so long that one of your points abrutly reach the end of the videos. Seriously, I enjoy your long-form videos, but I'm sick of these irrevelant shorts.

I did my formal learning before phone apps existed. I used paper... but basically in this way. These days my learning is mostly incremental and immediately and extensively applied, which definitely aids retention, familiarity and conceptualisation.
I finally reached this exact same conclusion today as well. What a coincidence I found this video on the same day
Genuine question asking as a noob. What's wrong with the default Samsung notes drawing app on Samsung tablets? Just that it doesn't have an infinite canvas?
Probably at some point when you'll want to make some deep studying bout difficult and complex concepts or subjects youwill find out that you need more features than just drawing, sketching and writing, apps like the ones they mentioned in other comments like "concepts" or "freeform" from apple let you organize you more with an index, bi-directional linkink, or add more methodologies to your note-studying process, like active recall or stuff like that but i personally prefer obsidian which is very flexible for text but not for sketching. Anyways your necesities determine the tools and features you need...
infinite canvas give you freedom to do deep connection between ideas. To see the big picture and detail together is not easy if the canvas is limited. If you are happy to use the samsung notes it’s find, but probably you need to try the app that has unlimited canvas such as onenote, squid, concept and see if you like it or not 😊
yea imagine all your studies, quotes, equation, chart, reminders, important notes and images all in one place ready to recall.. ain't that cool ? give it some time and it'd be like your jarvis
This guy never says anything straight to the point always talking in circles and trying to sound more important or intelligent than he really is. A grifter selling snake oil or a car salesman, take your pick.
I still found his ideas useful. Tbf u are correct, but you can still get something useful out of him
Well, he does say useful things, then again I really dislike the way he conveys his ideas! Like bruh, you can always put it in a more simple way!
I'm not sure if you're speaking about this particular short but it all seemed pretty straightforward to me? In fact the way he was wanting to present the information made the most sense using the words he used. It gave a good mental picture and a very straightforward description of the process happening mentally.
@@makkinini3996 They aren't here to think. They want a quick spoonfeed and be on their way. That's why they can't just disagree but resort to drumming up insults.
How much should you put in one canvas? Should all notes from an entire class or book be on one canvas? Or should you use a new canvas for each chapter. (And maybe have a master canvas for for the big ideas for the whole class/book?)
Keep in mind that the purpose of ypur "notes" (mindmaps, key words and drawings) is to find connections. Hence the latter would be very appropriate, whereby a canvas per chapter and a big ideas canvas for the whole class, but you could also just use one canvas for the entire subject if you prefer

Does an ipad/tablet make studying more effective? I wonder if I should get one or stick to paper and pen
But the distractions are tempting. Stick to paper and pen
For me, I take A level for 2 years and I see that most of the time, my teachers tend to give us handouts in google classroom (pdf, docx, etc)
And If i stick paper and pen,
I had to be extra alert about every new handout. I had to buy a printer for easy use to print.
For a short term, a weeks. Its ok
But for everyday new handout is given, I tend to lose myself and had to put on extra reminder to each handouts.
And most of it i think I wasted my time just to prepare for study rather than study itself....
My classes is more like highschool atmosphere but with lectures, tutorials, and labs.
Im taking engineering, so we only learn Maths, Physics, and Chemistry as our core.
But if ur studies is more laptop oriented like, (AKA. UNIVERSITY)
Had a lot of project to use autocad, maybe edit videos using premiere pro, photoshop maybe...
Then just stick paper and pen.
U wont need tablets just for note taking.
Well feel free to ask, i can answer it if Im having a leisure time :)
Just follow kiss principle
I don’t understand what he means when he says he only uses one infinite canvas. How does he organize all the different subjects on this canvas? Does he just draw on separate sections and scroll through the canvas to find relevant regions?
I think he’s talking about Obsidian canvas, which would make sense because you can build complex relationships in your knowledge base
@@andrada25m46 hmm I’m not familiar with it. I use one note which also has infinite canvas capabilities. I separate mind maps by subjects, topics and subtopics. what's a canvas ?
a canvas just means what you're writing on. For example, if you are writing notes on a piece of paper, the paper is your canvas. Justin said that he prefers an infinite canvas, meaning that he likes to write notes on something that doesn't run out of space. He does this by using a touchscreen and a pen.
