I’m am a 73 yo woman who is new to beekeeping and while I belong to a local bee group most are men and will gladly help if I ask but I have to be shown step by step and most of these guys have other obligations. I still feel lost at the monthly meetings because I need to have more hands on experience to truly learn. Also need to get over my nervousness around bees when getter into the hives. I fear mostly not knowing what I’m looking at, any problems, are how to harvest and the 100 possible steps in the process when getting into the hives. I like your step by step approach and wish you had a book 😌 Thank you. Super job!

@@debbiedavis1136 I applaud you for starting at 73! It's not easy, especially in the beginning. I never had (or wanted) a mentor because I'm an introvert, so I learned on my own. I'm pretty hands off and treatment free. Feel free to email me at Kelly-dawn@live.com anytime to ask questions. And I would recommend @BeekeepingMadeSimple for good instructions on what to look for when inspecting a hive. Best of luck to you!

@@alvinjoseph8724 I’ve had it happen at least a half dozen times. One of which is my strongest hives that casts a couple swarms each year and plenty of honey.

Do you feed your bees sugar water if so what ratio and months? And do you feed them in the winter with patties?
