Are you changing to a P71 or are you doing a stock replacement? I'm looking at buying a 99 Grand Marquis without a key. I'm hoping to buy a PCM out of a Police Interceptor to bypass the PATS system and get a more aggressive tune for cheap.
PCM, is that another name for the engine control module? I have a 2004 grand marquis that I suspect the ECM is faulty and the ECM is located in the same place.
Hey i have a 02 ford Crown Victoria...... i did and bought new parts to make my Crown Victoria started but it still not starting.. Do i have a bad pcm think i don't know..
Is there power and do you get data from the obd2? If yes to both you need to get the key programmed to it. If no make sure you have the same numbers on the pcm as the old one.
Hello Brian, I have 2001 grand marquis GS my father recently changed the battery then the car started acting erratically shuttering and wanting to stall i believe he burned out the ecm do you know if i can buy one off ebay and just plug and play or do i need to have it programmed completely or just program the vin number Thank you in advance

Check the grounds that connect from the negative post to the body.
I'm going thru same thing on my 1999 crown vic it's your ecm. Check the numbers on your ecm and order one with matching numbers!!
