      Tbh this isn't even a begginer bike, it's pretty much landfill disguised as a bicicle. I have had a bike similar to this and they're horrible from end to end, the rear shock is literal garbage and will eventually die, leaving you with a useless frame. Get a hardtail and not one of theese, you can get a decent one for 250/350 that will show it's worth the moment you get on it, it won't beat records or survive two and a half years of trails, but it will be enough to see if you like MTB and learn many important things until you are ready to go a bit more serious

    I honestly stumbled upon Sam's video and it got me hooked. This video just proves the point : you dont need an expensive bike to just cycle. Not all of us are crazy to do stunts and crazy stuff, but a simple bike can get the job done. It's the rider more than the bike. Reminded me of the point of me being a cheapo rider and everyone laughing at my bike for cheap parts but alas, the bike still gets it done.
    Absolutely awesome. Now, if someone's gonna make noise again of having xxx parts and how crappy the bike is and it wont survive the ride, i'll refer them to this video!

    One thing that I have learned in my years of owning bikes and what's demonstrated in this video is that these bikes are built with the lowest spec possible as far as parts go. They're not really made to take a beating that a downhill trail will have on a mountain bike. That reminds me of the last mountain bike I bought. I used it only for city riding because I knew that the Cannondale bike I bought (was only $500) wasn't going to be able to stand up to trail riding. There's usually a safety sticker somewhere on the frame that says that these kinds of cheap bikes aren't intended for downhill trail riding.

      Well said... now you can buy the top of the line bikes used for 200 bucks... but they will be trashed... you can 100% buy a new cheapish bike online... use some locktite thread locker... take your time to adjust everything and you will have a reliable bike. I have bought used cheap high end brand bikes... and cheap who knows what brand cheap new ones... it takes time to get a bike setup. building it at the carpark... no torque wrench ... take a hard downhill track and expect it to hold up... you're expecting the impossible. I always ride mild trails and on road... when its only onroad I put some road wheels and tire set on my bike... when it will have some offroading... I put the offroading set... I still have my cheap 26" full suspension with extra 700s on roadtires set ... anyways... Its up to u and ur pocket but I trust a good build and a proper adjust anyday.

    My first serious Mountain bike was fully rigid(Orange P7), your arms would ache and go wobbly, but you learned how to ride and have fun.
    Not a bad Amazon bike for having fun, maybe tighten the bars up a bit, but to be fair the people who buy these do not go down black runs.
    Thanks for the entertaining video.

      @mad-pit3832 2 года назад

      You wanting one is obviously the reason you asked, id spend a couple extra 100 on a second hand bike. The whole point of these videos is to test the cheapest bikes available, that bike was like 4/500 last time i saw it so it would be a real waste of money.

      A serious shoreline seems to be a good beginner bike. In this price category. You got hydraulic piston brakes and 2.25 wide tyres, this is important. The drivetrain ist a cheap one, but it will work for the first rides. And you can upgrade anything on this bike if you want. With the right headset you can even fit a tapered fork on to this bike.

    • @loveistheanswer5924
      @loveistheanswer5924 2 года назад

      @@t_to_the_homschen7270 Hi I already bought the serious shoreline. I paid 475€ with shipping. I would have liked it to buy a better a bit more expensive MTB for like 200€ more but I really wanted a 3 by drivetrain. And all more expensive MTB just have a 1 by drivetrain. So I bought this bike just for its drivetrain because I like it to ride fast.
      Would you say it would be worth it to spend 210€ for a air fork? Or is the bike to cheap so that it's not worth it? Thanks for a answer. 🙂

      @@loveistheanswer5924 if you Plan to own it longterm An airfork is an worthy upgrade. I would definitly spent it. I'm riding a ghost kato 500 le (cheap hardtail). I upgraded everything, 12 speed drivetrain, airfork with 160mm travel, 4 pot maguras with 203mm and 180mm rotors, dropper post, durable endurorims and so on. I spent in total 2000€ for a hardtail how I wanted it. Now I can shred it hard and nothing brakes.

    I bought a MTB from Target a few years ago just to get back on a bike again after all these years off. Despite everything being tightened just right, the handlebars quite honestly came off going downhill. And by came off, I mean I had them in my hands above the bike attached to nothing. It was then I knew I effed up. I have since bought a good bike and have been having the time of my left ever since.

    About 10 years ago, we bought a full suspension mountain bike new from Amazon, for £60.
    It was like it was made of scaffolding poles and the suspension had no damping at all - dropping from any height would fire you upwards again to almost the same height.
