- In this long overdue Pro Tip video, I give you some inside secrets from my personal experience and the BKI School of Paintball.
Have you ever had a lousy bag of paint and just dealt with it? The answer is, ya, probably! I have experienced this on so many different levels from teaching to playing with oily or broken, leaky paint. The solution is easier than you think!
I apologize for the lousy audio!
Thanks for watching!

This actually happened my second time I went paintballing! I was done with my game for the day and started emptying out my pods and found a bunch of broken paintballs. I thought to myself "ah man this sucks I'll take care of this when I get home." I got home and started cleaning my gear when unconsciously I started to empty out my pods with the newly broken balls in my box and made sure that there was one layer of balls on the floor of the box then took a micro fiber cloth and started to role my hand around in the box cleaning all the paint and oil off of my paintballs! With minutes I had them looking brand new! The broken paint was all that was left then filtered out! It saved me a bunch of moolah! This trick is so helpful and I'm a noobie at paintball so thanks Ryan for sharing!
I never thought of using the box. Genius
First off, everyone interested to improve their game - BE SURE TO SIGNUP FOR BKI MEMBERSHIP!!! Good point that paintballs can really sweat oil if not kept in a cooler environment (than a San Diego garage). Awesome tip to eliminate oil using your box, paper or cloth towel, etc to help remove oil. And while we wouldn't want to use oily paint in a match, it's a great idea for practice games and target practice. Even if paintballs aren't oily, not a bad idea to dump 500 in your box to make sure none are broken or have nasty dimples.
this is 100000000% correct!! it honestly isn't a bad idea to do this out of habit anyway
This guy man no words can describe how awesome of a person he is.... he even took the time to reply to me on Instagram. Hands down one of the nicest people in this world.
hey hey thanks for the support!!!
Anytime my man!
I don't even play paintball but here I am because of RUclips 🤷♂️
You should try it
As Towelie always says. "Don't forget to bring a towel" Haha cool tip!👍
haha thanks for watching!!
Saved me money dude! I was about to throw a whole bag away bc of some bad balls but this saved me paint and money. Thanks bro!
glad I could help!!!
Finally a tips video
I have been working on the BKI Program for the past few years! There is a ton of good stuff in there that can help! Check out their free section as well! Thanks for the support!!
Pro tip #12 don't buy valken paint
I can't wait to meet you in October
I always brought a towel in my car to the field for this exact reason.
I always bring paper towels. I line the box with a few paper towels and then use paper towels to move the balls around in the box and it's all clean.
I bring 2 towels just in case lol But using the box turned out to be more effective than expected and is nice if you don't have anything else.
So you just dump it from the box into your pods?
Not one balls joke in this entire thread.. thanks for showing me how to clean my dirty balls...🙄...😆😉 very cool tip! Awesome vid! 👍
hahaha
Ask the field for empty box they definitely would be happy to get rid of one. I always ask for a box if I just have bags and need to fill pods.
Been wanting to do the BKi. One day.
what are you waiting for!!!??? click the link above!
All the paint I get except defy is oily on the outside so I just deal with it, my hopper has a thick layer of oil at the end of the day
and now you have a quick easy way to solve those problems!!
Hey Ryan, great video! Would you be able to post the general settings that you run your Marq at or make a video of it? Thanks for all the awesome content!
I bought a case of 2000 spyder xtras and they were all oily like this. Ill try this trick tonight.
this is the most 2006 shit i’ve seen since 2006
Did you get that table cloth from Lang?
haha nope, I bought it at a market in Spain
I made a like one of the mini beer legs and have a liner I made throw balls in there and turn it lol
Yo I love your vids I really want to start speedball but I don’t have the money I’m 13 I’ve watched you for like 6years

I play at paintball explosion and ohare speedball park all the time, u going to be at either of those anytime soon?
I will be at explosion at the end of the year for the annual Clowns vs zombies!
Probably stupid question but are you able to clean all bags of paint from a case in the same box? Or what is the point where the oil is too much for the box to stop soaking up the paint??
I think you can. But at paintball fields, paint boxes are easy to find!
ryan greenspan thanks for the reply!!
before purchasing paint from a store I request a box opened to inspect before purchase.. I have for years now. it's a supplier issue with delivery. it's written up as such and they give you a fresh box. I shouldn't have to pay for a product and fix it myself. don't be afraid to do this. you're not responsible for a bad product.
I think this is an issue players face when they are getting discounted paint.
Where do you guys practice now? You used to practice at cp (my home field) but haven’t seen u there in a while
we are at Velocity now and possibly back to CP for the next round of practices.
thats how my last HK paint came, fresh from the factory lol
this wasn't HK paint!
@@ryangreenspan he's saying that he's experienced the same with hk at times
OH no valken is going to fire Ryan from nxl ;)
I use a pillow case first. Then I dump back into the box and rub it in my hands with a towel.in the end. Gets everything off. Like brand new.
Pillow case smart asf
Can we meet at pbx again like clowns vs zombies
I will be there!!!
emailed bki a month ago didn't get an answer can a European go to the combine in Florida maybe you can give me a concrete answer
yes, of course you can come to the combine! i think we did have some Canadian and maybe one European player also.
@@ryangreenspan hell yeah
So no HK Army paint and no UnderArmour cleats. Sponsors got to love this.

gotta wait till I am selling one!
If you didn’t play with dynasty who would you play with
5:45 he says they got less oily after having the paint in his hands, then touches a box and oil print get on lol
Assa 🤙🏼😜
I'll make this pro tip even PRO'r for you guys. Carry a flattish shaped tupperware container than can hold a half a case of paint or so in your trunk. Carry a bottle of 100% isopropyl alcohol......usually sold as 99.9%. It can't be anything less than that. Carry a funnel. Carry a second tall but thin container or plastic bottle that's empty. Pour the alcohol into your tupperware. Now pour your oily paint covered paintballs into the alcohol. Swish them around for a while. The alcohol will not dissolve the paintball shells unless you leav them in for days......you aren't going to. It will however wash the oil and broken paint off. Scoop the paintballs out onto a towel or paper towels and give them a quick drying with the towel and then let them air dry for a bit. It doesn't take long. Now pour all the dirty alcohol back into your bottle and let the bottle stand upright. Over time(24 hours) the paint and oil you soaked up will sink to the bottom of the bottle. You can then pour off the good alcohol(might have a bit of colour to it) slowly into your other empty bottle and reuse it, minus the small amount in the bottom that still contains all the crappy paint. Play ball!
I don't know that I would call that a "PRO'r" tip more than I would call it way too many steps to take. Do it my way and save time and space in your bag...
Pillow case !!!!!
👍👍
