I love the fact that you can post most opus 88 pens with the reservoir opened and without risking a mess, not many eyedropper pens do that, I'm gonna get the Opus Harmony soon and I can't wait. Also, thank you for being one of the few pentubers that actually try posting their pens, most don't seem to give it much thought unfortunately.
Happy to help! I like to post my pens if I'm in a public space, or on my couch, I'm always afraid I will lose the cap. So I like to give it a good test on my new pens now :)
Endless seems to do a lot of moon-themed pens! There is a Kilk Celestial Moon pen from a couple years ago that I'm desperate to find, but can't anywhere.
Oh my! I may have to jump on this. I will use it all through October and for my Tarot journal. I’d seen this earlier, but sort of forgot about it. Thank you for bringing it back to my attention. Going to go order it!
Lovely moon pen. I got briefly addicted to Opus 88 for a minute there. 😂 I started with the Jazz Holiday. Then I got hooked on using the Demonstrator with a Pilot Parallel nib, so I have a 3.8 nib in one, and a 1.5 nib in another. Then I found out about the mini and got the one that looks like a pair of Vans ("Checkered"). I use them all for sketching, so I love the ink capacity.
Love this. It IS perfect for the Astrology/Tarot journal! I've never had an Opus 88 pen, mini or otherwise, so I appreciate the size comparisons. Thanks Danielle!
I've just thought of something else, when you filled up, one tip, open the plug vent as you want the pen nib section to screw on properly, and not jam up against the plug of the valve, which it would do, causing premature wear (especially since it was 'dry'), that way you control how tight the seal is, by the small knob, not by how tight you jam up the nib section. also if you jam on the plug, you don't get a proper O-ring seal, leading to leaks from the body joint.
I have the same model in baby beluga (Goldspot pens exclusive). I do not like pocket pens, but I loved the design on it so much that I bought it anyway. I love to look at it, but I have only used it once because I find it too small even when posted and it doesn't post securely enough. Still I can't imagine selling it because I think it's so pretty! I really hope Goldspot will make an Opera or Demonstrator sized version of this. I would buy it in a heartbeat! The opus 88 eyedropper filling system is genius, and I use my other Opus 88s a lot (2 operas and a Jazz). Thank you for your wonderful reviews :) In my experience they get less squeaky over time.
I love your pen! I would love to find one. It says it is sold out on Endless Pen’s site. I own a Opus 88 Mini Fountain Pen in Sakura Cherry Blossoms fountain pen and it’s cute, but it don’t post with the blind cap unscrewed... I would buy the Hocus Opus pen though. I love all things about the universe and it would go so well in my Astronomy/Telescope Learning journal... Great video!
Nice pen. I have wanted to try one of these minis for a while. But still waiting until I see the right color combo/cap design. Now that you have unboxed this one, it’s not bad. I think the name just didn’t attract me previously.
Congrats on your new pen!! I've been eyeing the Opus 88 Fantasia for the amazing aesthetics it has, but it's so hard to find stock :(( Edit: Tip for eyedroppers - actually the provided ones usually aren't very good imo, I use a laboratory dropper which easily fills 3ml of ink at once that makes it super easy to use, just those cheap plastic ones will do
great pen, fyi you don't explain what an eye-Dropper pen is, it simply is a big tank inside the pen body, without any filler mechanics (like rubber bladders{vacuum & Lever fillers}; pistons {convertor fillers, syringe fillers, like the TWISBI}) how you fill it is simple, just put the dropper in the ink well, or Bottle, and pipette it into the tank, hence the spare O-ring! as this is what seals the tank body to the siphon (pen nib section) so you can write without any dribbles from the pen.
also a tip, you shouldn't 'post' this pen, the back cap is a vent hole, to allow ink to flow (like a straw, or the fuel line to the petrol tank in your car or an air sprayer (paint)), you need air to replace the ink!!, or nothing can come out, and after a while writing the cap would most likely be vacuum sealed to the pen body, as all the 'air' in that space has vacated through that vent hole, and entered the ink tank of the pen body.
This is great to know! I haven't had any issues yet when writing with the cap on and the back cap open. But the way you described it makes so much sense!
Every ink is different, so some do have light to dark :) I'm personally happy with the quality to price, there are other more "popular" brands that don't even compare to this one.
Initial writing is nothing compared to how it is writing now! It is really smooth and flowing. My writing is flying across the page! It is no gold nibbed pen but I really like it. Plus price wise it is less expensive then some other steel nib pens and holds a lot of ink.
I LOVE the Opus 88 Mini, I already want to have a small little hoard of them lol. Congrats on starting your Tarot journey! I ended up moving from the passport book to an A5 and mixing it with my Astrology practice, but I think if I had more time, the passport would work perfectly.

I had to look up that pen, and OH MY, it is STUNNING. I hope you can find it!
SO BEAUTIFUL!! 🌕✨
Thank you!! I'm so in love with it.

I was looking at the "Checkered" one! I think these pens are perfect for sketching, the ink capacity alone is great for hours of use.
very very cute! 🖤🖤🤍🤍
Thank you! 🤗
This is so pretty! From the pictures I was not impressed but your video seeing it in action changed my mind ☺️
It's so good! I'm really happy with it!
😮 so pretty!!! 😍 Congrats on the new pen! Love the hilariously long name for a mini pen lol
Thank you!! 😁 Hahaha I think the naming is so fun too 😂
Love this. It IS perfect for the Astrology/Tarot journal! I've never had an Opus 88 pen, mini or otherwise, so I appreciate the size comparisons. Thanks Danielle!
You are so welcome! I am really enjoying it :)
Love it ❤ I adore my Opus 88 minis. I just ordered The Expressionist in a 1.5 stub and a Lamy 2000 from Endless Pens. Their sales are so amazing. 😊
That is awesome! I was so glad they had the Stars sale when I ordered too. Such a great discount!

I just ordered a Opus 88 mini! Are you still loving it? Also¡ I’m learning Tarot and about to watch your tarot journal!
So cute pen and a lovely ink! 😇🩷🙏🙌
Thank you so much 😀
I think diamine Solstice would be such a cool ink in that pen. I might have to pick one up and try it
Ooooo that ink would be so fun! Celestial inks in a celestial pen! Love it :)

Thank you for sharing!! I hope they release that design in the bigger pens too, or maybe do something similar so there's a whole set of them!
I have a grumpy kitty version and although it’s not my favourite pen, it is my cutest!
That sounds like a fun pen! Grumpy cats are adorable haha
Such a cute pocket pen! 😍 It does seem like the perfect pen for you. 🌒
It is so much fun 😊 I've already written so much with it. Its very easy to grab!

Thank you Tina! I hope you're able to find one, maybe they will come back in stock!

It seems that there are different designs every year. Maybe next time they will get a design you really like! I'm really happy with this one so far :)

Thanks for the info!! This is my first eyedropper so I greatly appreciate you explaining this!

For an expensive pen, the writing and ink quality is not that great. There’s dark and light. It should be consistent throughout.

its so pretty but im not impressed by the way it writes tho :(

@@mydandeliondiaries can you post your mini? Mine is not posting well at all. Ugh.
