I got mine in the mail recently as well. No concerns with the packaging, it definitely went through it in transit but the planner was pristine. It did require my signature on delivery as well. I used my A5 TAN in 2024 and love it. Excited to set it up for next year.
This is my favorite planner. I was so tired of hobonichi last year bc having all of the daily pages that I don't use felt like such a waste. The 2024 TAN was great and I knew I needed this years. I also picked up their new dates weeks and while I love the layout, the size doesn't fit any of my hobo weeks covers.
I was so tempted to get their small new size, but decided to pass on it. Good to know it is bigger than a weeks! I think it is meant to be a "standard" size.
I got mine on Friday and spent all night setting them up! Thankfully no issues with the paper for mine, I can use all my pilot vanishing points, TWSBIs and Schaeffer fountain pens with no bleedthrough. Phew! It's such a shame the experience between batches of tomoe river paper are so inconsistent! Thanks for the review :)
That is so great to hear! I'm glad you didn't experience any bleedthrough 😊 I tried a few more fountain pens and had NO bleed through which was great to see 🥰 I think my 823 was just extra juicy haha
Mine got stuck in Chicago for several days as it zig-zagged the country, finally coming to me a week later in California. No regrets though. It's so beautiful and this is the second year to use these planners "Daily". Cheers!
I got mine last week too! I love it so much. It lays SO flat. I’m going to use mine as a Project Life memory keeper and maybe book journal too (with/in the front pages). Thanks for bringing it to our attention earlier this year! 😊
thanks for posting this video! i was planning on getting the TAN 2025 planner specifically to avoid the hononichi paper quality issues but am a little sad to see that the TAN might also have bleed through issues with fountain pens 😭 those are all I use in my planner
I think it is the new Sanzen 68gsm paper vs the tomoegawa. I tried several other fountain pens and they all did great! I think it was just that pen/ink pairing. If you use fine/extra fine nibs you should be just fine 😊
How fun! I am also really wanting to start setting up my planners early this year. ( would not be disappointed if you started putting out your set up videos soon🙃) I am still waiting for my preorder!! I purchased this with the yellow cover because I went with the Hobonichi HON Paysanne Blossom for 2025 sort of going for a yellow/green year. Needed a little more cheerful color + the purple night weeks. I am using my Take a note for all things Joy thanks to your inspiration in the hobo weeks, this take-a-note was going to be only a spiritual tracker but now it will house my spiritual practice, tarot, oracle, astrology and inspirational quotes, along with hobbies and gratitude, at least I am hoping I can fit all of this in the planner. ( this is my first year in a take-a-note I've been strictly Hobonichi with w222 notebooks) so really was excited to see this unboxing for a little more preplanning in my head before it arrives.
Love the happy colors for 2025 💚💛 Set up videos are coming!! I'm hoping to do the 1st one next week! AH! I think the tarot practice is something I want to get better with in 2025, and I think this TAN is going to be great for it 😊
Still waiting for mine to arrive, but now I'm even more excited! I don't know if the paper is the same as the 2024 version, but with fine and extra fine nibs I've had zero bleedthrough so far, even with wetter inks. And I totally agree that the 2025 cover is such a pretty color 💚
Yay!! I hope it gets to you soon 💖 I tested out some more fine nib pens and it did just fine. But the paper does feel a little different than the 2024 version.
Thanks for the walk through. It’s so disappointing this year that 2025 planners are not holding up to the fountain pens. It will be interesting to see if this continues into 2026.
Mine have just arrived in my country, I should get it Monday/Tuesday. So excited. I got the A5 again, and the B6 to experiment with..... Couldn't resist grabbing the 10 year anniversary editions with the commemorative sticker and covers!
I intended to get this but bought way too many bound books for 2025 before this was open for purchase. Too many early preorders that distracted me. Thank you for this flip through. I love how clean the pages look, really minimalist and functional.
@@elainenabors9832 Hahah i know it looks scary, but it is in the Tawain currency! USD turns into ~$30. For the clear cover and planner I didn't even spend $50 when I preordered!
Great video! Im silly but i was looking for a video like this so i know if opening this on my birthday (nov 29th) would be a good idea. Funny that your video was the first that came up when I searched, because im already subscribed, so no need to even start watching someone new for this. (Autism brain happy,!)
I have the 2024 TaN which is also 68-gsm TRP, and none of my fountain pens bleed through, so I think yours bled probably just because it pooled so much.
My 2024 one does great with the same fountain pen. I think it is the new Sanzen TR 68gsm paper. I'm not that worried about it, but it is a different paper feel.
@@CookieR1272 The Tomoegawa Tomoe River Paper is no more, it is all moving to Sanzen Tomoe River Paper now. @@mydandeliondiaries That's so weird bc I thought they changed to sanzen last year. Ugh. I do like the slightly thicker TRP they use for every day use vs the Hobonichi. I'm definitely thinking the "bad batch" is reality.
