Finally, I had the chance to ride the new Benelli TRK 502. My first impressions are only positive. Build quality is not bad at all. It comes with almost all the necessary extras that we need to travel on long motorcycle trips, but unfortunately, it has some serious problems with the spare parts in Europe. My friend Carlos, who came with the bike all the way from Macau (China) to Berlin on the way to Portugal will share some priceless experience for the model.

Total rispect Carlos.
Maybe one of the best test of that bike.
For a trip like this people normally buy gs1250 that cost 25000 euros, and than put 5000 euros extras on the bike, and then make only half way, or they can't finish the trip because of gearbox problems etc...
Carlos is my idol
Benelli is my next bike
Hi Pavlin, a good overview about this exotic machine. I like it. Carlos is a great guy and he speaks about the problems very honest. My respect! Best regards to him and the best wishes for his further trip to Portugal. Ride safe, Hans
Thanks for taking the time Hans!

You have a new subscriber. This is the second time I watch your videos and certainly you nailed the most important subjects one needs to know about a motorcycle.
Specially, i really enjoyed this upload and appreciate yours but also Carlo's sincerity and generosity to share the good, bad and ugly about his experience.
Real men talk to the face and only the true.
Cheers mate!
Glad to help!
Thank you ! Both of you have made the most honest and practical review from ownership perspective
Honest review by the owner. Some people would praise it even if it was rubbish in order to validate their purchase.

Nice Sincere review from the owner. Thanks very much. Every bikers has to watch this.
Carlos is right to keep that bike because they made alot of memories and hardship together. Safe trip, Carlos!
Exactly!
Kenrole. Yes my friend, I will keep this bike that was my only company on this 29 days of adventure. I think the adventure of my live.
Thanks for giving such a precise review of the bike... topweight, comfortable speed etc. This is what everyone is trying to find out.
Thank you from Italy. First honest review I Have seen in my life
Glad it was helpful!
What an excellent, detailed and useful review. Benelli still seem to have some way to go yet. Thanks to both presenters and full marks to Carlos. Good luck with the trip.
There is nothing wrong with the TRX502. It is a great modern bike, you will have broken fuel pump problems on any modern EFI if you deliberately runout of fuel or just plan poorly and run out of fuel. Also for the trip they are describing he picked the wrong bike, the TRK502X would have been the better choice. I don't like this type of review where people run down good equipment just because they don't know how to use it correctly. A poor tradesman always blames his tools.
Great review Pavlin, very helpful. Thanks for giving your honest opinion Carlos and have a great adventure!
Thanks for taking the time James!
Thank you for this open and honest review.
Great review. I have this bike and I travel with my wife, we are very happy with it, no problems with it at all, we have traveled more than 12,000km and no complaints. We travel in Mexico and Central America.
Good, enjoy your trips!
@@motorcycleadventures Thank you, we enjoy them very much, I have a lot of material and hope some day I find the time and the talent to edit them and share them here. Love your Chanel, thank you for your reply.
@@Centaur0405 do you experience any problem to this bike? In the engine or the other features to the trk 502x version?

Excellent review,as always!
Fantastic video. These are the details we all need to know before purchasing a bike. It's not just about the initial purchase price. There's a lot more to running a bike than the initial cost. Many thanks for making this video. All the best. 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent review and a good point of caution on parts availability
Very good and honest review by Carlos!
Carlos is great man!

Good looking bike, and a honest review I hope to see more of thos Benelli on my country.

I will open my eyes to see you Carlos, Boa viagem.

That was such a good video Pavlin I really enjoyed it and the owner of the bike was absolutely wonderful as well, it was a great interview
sumporfuk. Thank you. My english not perfect but hope understandably
Carlos Avila There is absolutely no need to worry about your English. The most important thing to remember when communicating in another language (or even your own language) is that the other person or people understand what you are saying. Perfect English has very little to do good Communication and your communication is excellent. It was a great interview. Travel safely my friend.
sumporfuk. Thank you. All the best for your rides too.
Looks great, thanks for sharing
I'm impressed. 99.9% of riders will never use a bike like this, with very heavy loads, intensive riding for thousands of KMs, some on bad roads, in all weather conditions. The fact the rear shock lasted over 10,000 km under these conditions is actually very impressive also.
Very good value for your money, but only if Benelli can quickly improve the after-sale support.
Ok
Impressive from Macau to Europe its ah good reviews ride safe sir carlos
Glad you enjoyed it
A gr8 video again Pavlin.. I am keen to buy this bike next year...but, somehow wasn't convinced enough...& now your video made an influence of skipping it :) DANKE-SCHÖN
In India this model costs upward of €7000/-

I kind of stumbled across your channel, don't remember how, but glad I did.
Apparently there are a lot of negative reviews out there about this bike.
I haven't bothered checking as here is an honest review from a rider who has put some miles on the bike.
Good work :)
Thanks, Mark!
Thanks to You & Carlos for a good review. As a Benelli (Keeway) RKF owner I can confirm that parts availability is a nightmare. Ordering a peg (footrest) on warranty via the official importer lasted 6 months. Now the bike, which is brand new (5000 km) stands for 1+ year in the garage, with broken / disintegrated clutch mechanism (a common issue in these, due to sub-par materials, aka Chinesium) and I cannot find parts anywhere. Difficult to repair, as the mechanism buried deep within the main engine halves. Preparing to either pull the engine out, with difficult access to many parts and a lot of pure nonsense, crap plastic parts. Or just sell it, in an “as-is” state, with a loss, as it it out of warranty now.
Love you guys! Real bikers.
Thanks!
You should check the trk 502X version. It Is more off-road oriented (higher, longer sospensions, buffer front wheel).
Tranks for this video.

Waiting for your review on the Yamaha Tenere 700. Thanks for all the good videos.
I will do it when I have the chance
Great Review. Experience shared sincerely.
I believe,
Parts availability cab be an issue even with a BMW GSA 1250 .
What matters is how good the bike is put together for the long haul.
I think the fact that the bike did Macau to Berlin, speaks volumes of its basic reliability.
Thanks .
Thanks for taking the time!
I have seen many positive reviews about trk 502 but i was waiting for your verdict only. Now i know where to go...

Very good video... Good information thanks!

I met Pavlin 3 years ago in Berlin. At that time I had a Suzuki V Strom 1000 2014 model. It is was to heavy for me and I couldn't do off road. This year I changed with a Honda CB500X 2019. I don't have that power, but off road is great. 500 cc but only 187 kg. Cheers Pavlin, thank you for showed me the Berlin that night.
It was my pleasure as usual!
Would not a Honda CB 500X be finally a better choice, worth the additional cost (6800€ in Europe) ? Beside the spare parts distribution issue, the problem of the Benelli seems to be the weight, not the power by itself. Of course, because such travel costs a lot of money, one may not want or simply not can put too much on the bike. Anyway, bravo to Carlos to make his dream true and to honestly share his experience. Thumbs up !
Agree, CB 500X is very close with price and spare parts everywhere.
Amazing way to talk about a bike!
Cool!
Nice review
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks so much for the review, I was just about to head out and buy the new klr650 adventure but came across the beneli Trk502x
I thought wow, what an amazing bike, that was until I heard your feedback about the bike and part's being hard to source so a bit more research
Thank you both
Glad I could help!
this review was 3 years ago at the time a very good advice and review now in 2022 things have changed so the review is in reality expired , parts are now readily available all over europe , check your nearest dealership and ask , if you further research now in 2022 you will see its the most sold bike for 2021 and also so far in 2022
Thanks, lads for an honest review. I was thinking about trading in my TDM 900 for trk 502 X but after watching your video, I think I will stick to Yamaha for a little bit longer...
Thanks! I have requested a full review since you talk about it, in some Arabic country in a local moto shop.
It was on Pakistan last year
Nice looking bike.. I like the windshield
Thanks for taking the time!
Good video. I was about to buy this bike. Thank you.

Excellent 'real world' review. I am / was considering the TRK500X to use just touring around the UK. I will still take a look and test ride, but I will ask about parts availability. Thanks for the video, very informative.
i really like this! you dont need bike like ktm790 or even tenere 700 (which i have at the moment) to see the world ! really nice!
Exactly!
Wau... what a trip. Hughes respects.
Thanks for taking the time!
My wife just bought me a Benelli TRK502 (BS6) today for my birthday!!!. Took it for a short ride....well it's good really, I stopped riding over 10years ago and am basically re-introducing myself to it. The basics are still intact by I know I have to refine my riding skills. The TRK502 feels like it could have done with longer gears maybe or a 7th gear to ease the revs at high speeds. However, I did note that it struggles at slow speeds an indication of the weight to power ratio......it feels pretty planted on the ground but you can feel the weight when turning and also at low speeds. A little bit noisy also.......The bike is priced at USD6,990 (Nairobi, Kenya). Itse a fair deal for a new bike in this category. It's a day old, will do the 1000km feedback
It is what it is! Enjoy it!
How's it holding up?
@@cold_jay The bike is really good. Covered 1600km so far, am not a very frequent rider. But I really love the bike so far. Just found a small oil leak on the oil filter today after a 110km ride yesterday. I guess the filter needs to be tightened a bit. The other issue is hard shifting gears....not sure what the problem is. No other issues so far.
Nice video bro, I got the X one (22/23) and that one is very fast.🔥
Thanks!
Good, honest review. I considered a Benelli because of the price and because I wanted an ‘all rounder’. Fortunately I found a good deal on a Versys 650 GT and went with that. Having seen your video on the Versys 650 and the one made by the Missenden Flyer beforehand convinced me that the Kawasaki was the better investment,.
Absolutely!
John Thorburn. You right, can’t compare
Hello, good to know about the parts to take care of, that was interesting. Did it evolve since and in what countries ? On the other hand i don't understand at all why the video talk about adventure for a bike not built for, the X version is.
Hey man! Love your vids, wanted to ask if the bike was re colored or does it look like that stock?
Honest and interesting, Pedro's only real mistake was picking a road version instead of the x, but now it will be the opposite riding to Portugal.
Thanks for watching!
Thankyou Carlos
He is a great man!
Benelli is cheap so one can spend on other things while travelling. And most importantly, it offers its riders a different kind of challenge and it'll test the riders endurance 🤣🤣. Definitely my kind of bike 💪💪
A clever man said: I am not that rich to buy cheap things...
@@motorcycleadventures Cleaver man once said: i need bike witch i can afford to park in front of my block in Sofia and sleep well

Excelente video. Parabens Carlos pela coragem da viagem e pelo testemunho. Eu proprio estou comprador de uma mota trail e a Benelli era uma opcao a BMW mas ja vi que nao. Talvez pudessemo-nos encontrar em Portugal e falar melhor... Abraco.
Last year I was almost sure to buy this bike but the thing that made me reconsider was the dealership. In my country it was a tiny dealership with non professional guys and I saw the actual clients waiting hours for stuff. I tried the bike there and a couple of days later I bought a second hand cb500x from 2016 for around the same price as a new 2018 TRK
I think that you token the right decision.
@motorcycle adventure could you please make a review on CB500X
@@motorcycleadventures
No, he didn't.
If everyone did the same there would only be cb500's and 1200gs's on the road.
cb500x is the good choice
Good sensible review, yes this bike is more then enough for every purpose. Only 47HP so what! If you hit the ground with 47 HP or 120HP you still hit the ground!! Fantastic price also. And a good looking machine. It is on my shortlist all the way up. 👌
Thanks for taking the time!
Great bike. The best cost-benefit for nowadays. Great design. Good bicylindrical engine, with same power of 660z Ténéré, but lower torque comparatively the same bike.
Thanks for taking the time!

Hi ya thanks for this review, loved it.
I have owned this model for 2 years. In that I have totally loved it. Complete with crash bars and boxes included.
What I didn’t like was the frame started to rust quickly even though it was kept in a garage.
It let me down many times from the steering lock broke, ignition switch broke, fuel pump gave up and left me stranded.
Bike was very underpowered if you live in a hilly area it will struggle, or I found it that it did.
Overtaken things were a problem, even if you drop a gear it had no grunt to get passes quickly, it will pass but make sure you have plenty of road.
My dealer was amazing and I would def go to them again but they did not build the bike.
I’m glad I didn’t spend a fortune on it or it would have been hard to swallow as it was off the road for 3 months in repairs.
My advice if you get it cheap enough and want to run it into the ground and be prepared for breakdowns then go for it as you will get what you want from it.
Fair comment, thank you!
You know it's not a BMW because... ah you all know what I'm gonna say. Nice review Carlos (& Pavlin), looks like this could be a good option for a lot of people...
Glad to help!
Thank you sir, and thank you to Carlos! This is excatly what we need, real owners who have used their bikes. I am really interested in this bike, I live in Spain and am a returner to motorcycling aged 60. Ummm! what to do. I love the RE Himalayan and have taken a liking to the Kawasaki Versys 300X There is tooooo much choice!!! But parts and service need to be factored into the purchase.
Glad to help!
There's probably someone still waiting for Italian built Benelli parts since 1976!
Could be...
Exactly. Also parts for their Mirafiore FIAT have been on order since 1978! .....And their Aprilia, Guzzi, Ducati, Gas Gas, Bultaco, etc as well.
Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, maybe now RE. And if you can swing it, BMWs and KTM. I am lucky enough to have a 1200GSA, which has many detractors. It is Huge but is really great, nearly unstoppable actually, with practice. And I’m pretty old, so whoever your are you can sort the size out of you want to. But it is a brutally good bike and lasts and has no parts problems - except price. For this kind of riding, you must be able to deal with a breakdown . Period. It’s as important as how good the brakes are or something.
That Benelli is not a real world option. I admire this rider for taking that trip on it! Wow! Good job.
@@Simulera suzuki is the king of touring.... Dl650 and dl1000
Great to see the review! Since i last asked for a review on this bike i actually ended up getting the Africa Twin. If people can't save up for that step up i would say the Honda CB500x is a better alternative to the Benelli.
id say the cb500x is one of the better adventure bikes full stop . compared to anything
@mld i took one out for a test ride the other week , i did 90 mph on it ,ok so only for a short burst but still , its light so wouldnt cost much to ship anywhere , the tank range is amazing and yes it has that honda reliability
actually if i was going around the world i'd seriously consider the cb 500x
plus rally raid do some great ugrades
Agree that the CB500 is far better option.
Great video, it's so cool you pronounce Trk as Te r ka, like we do in Vietnam. Love the video, hope you the bike but after 12 months of owning a Benelli bn302 i wont be owning another Benelli as reliability isnt that great. However its just customer trust issue, i absolutely love my Bn 302
Thanks for taking the time!
Hey Mate, Great video again!! If you will travel accross Czechia let me know, I will let you spend a night in my place and review my BMW F800GS :)

I had doubts about a year ago if i bought the trk 502 or a nc 750 x from honda. In the end i choose the nc 750x precisely because of the problems related on this video. Have a nice trip Carlos. Bem vindo a Portugal de novo.
Good decision you token!
Nuno Mendes.
Fez-me pensar e bem
Nuno Mendes.
CB 500 x would be even better decision - it has better acceleration, more agile, lighter, better looking, ..., Yes NC has extra space where the tank normaly is, but that's more or less all.
Thank you
You're welcome

Hi, Ive just explore your impresive and honest channel, I wonder whats your opinion about TRK251 and Zongshen Rx3i evo ? Thank you very much
I never tried before, so I cannot talk about it.
I was waiting for this review. I'm 1,78 tall. I think Tenere is too high for me because I have to drive in crowded city so I want to buy TRK502 and hava a small trip. (from Turkey to around Caspian Sea and back to Turkey again). Still I have questions about this bike. Your idea is very important for me thank you Pavel.
Our pleasure
Good review, but is that shock absorber thing in rear that bad? I would think that it would be easy to find third-party generic shock? Likely some other models also have very similar dimensions. Front end could be worse thing to do figure out
I am going to get one as a commuter, the X version. Very cheap in the UK and a lot of dealers. Ideal for burning around London. The X has better brakes and more presence. I am 1.9metres so it's a very comfortable bike. Wouldn't even attempt to ride off road. You would be better off riding a goldwing on the TET... The weight distribution is really bad.
I own the X.. Don't buy it.. Buy a cb500x or kawasaki versys 650
Portugal :) Top!!
PAVLIN PLS TELL ME WHERE TO FIND THE COVER ON THE SEAT ,THAT WHITE ONE . AND DOSE IT HELP FOR LONG TRAVELING AND MAJE THE SEAT SOFT
A Motorcycle suspension mechanic should be able to re-build [fix] the shock? also upgrading it to make it better for the weight he is carrying. Has he tried finding an aftermarket shock suitable for the bike?
We tried all options. The bike is new model, no aftermarket options or rebuild sets.
Chris Z. Like Pavlin told, we check in all Berlin shops and mechanics. No way

The 502X looks way better and I do like this bike. The spare parts and dealer network would have me looking elsewhere though.

@@user-hb4ef6yp8e hi, i have 1.76 and im ride trk 502x without problems
The fuel pump did probably fail due to lack on lubrication when it ran out, sort of like running engine without oil it happens. I rather have this than a motorcycle that costs as much as a nice car!
Agree
I've got the same problem with my chinese bike in Poland. The bike is fine. It doesn't break, but when I had a little accident and I damadged it I had a problem with spare parts.
All good but as any rider will tell you , if you run out of fuel with an EFI system then you are going to damage the pump. Secondly you are using the wrong bike for the conditions you described. You should have been using the Benelli TRK 502X it has more clearance and a stronger shock absorber on the rear. I own the TRK 502 and it is an excellent machine when used for the purpose it was built for.
Thanks for taking the time!
