Better Call Saul is the critically acclaimed spinoff from era-defining crime drama Breaking Bad. Created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, and starring Bob Odenkirk (Mr. Show, Breaking Bad, Nobody), the show follows the exploits of Saul Goodman, Walter White and Jesse Pinkman’s fast-talking lawyer - back when he was just Jimmy McGill, a conman with something resembling a heart. Airing on AMC (and on streaming giant Netflix in other territories), the show’s sixth and final season is set to appear some time in 2021, and fans are eagerly awaiting the conclusion of the series’ many plot threads and the fates of its menagerie of colorful characters, from long-suffering fixer Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) to conflicted criminal Nacho (Michael Mando) and troubled lawyer and sometime paramour of Jimmy’s, Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn).
The writers behind Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and Netflix original movie El Camino know how to weave an intricate web, with setups seeded many seasons before their eventual payoffs, and tiny details picked up, expanded upon and subverted left right and center. In this video, we list 25 of the most memorable, exciting and downright insane details that you missed in Better Call Saul, from continuity references buried in throwaway dialogue, to the secrets behind the origins of the show, to behind-the-scenes revelations and fascinating insights from the production of this ambitious TV series.

The writers for this show are unbelievably talented. The BB and BCS series together are the greatest film masterpiece ever created
Fax bro I’ve seen BB like 5 times and it’s my favourite show of all time and I decided to give BCS a go I’m currently on season 4
Don't forget about El Camino Netflix Original Movie which is supposedly the sequel of BrBa with Jesse as the protagonist.
@@raunvk el camino does not exist
@@cesardelgiudice8506 It does and it is amazing
@@FinkHD Far from amazing, an obvious uninspired cash grab
If there is any justice in this world, Rhea Seehorn better gets her Emmy after the last season is aired
And Michael Mando!
And Jonathan Banks!
I would imagine that season 6 would be the one where it is most deserved.
Just the fact nobody from better call saul got an award for the show is A SICK JOKE!!!
The fact that neither Johnathan,Bob or Rhea have won an emmy for this is absurd
Breaking bad: i m the best
Better call saul: hold my cucumber water
Damn mrs nguyen
Cucumba wata fo costuma onry!
I love how Kim doesn’t wear her signature ponytail while her arm is broken.
Kind of hard to put your hair up with a broken arm lol
It's actually symbolic of something. Throughout the show she becomes more and more unhinged and "breaks bad"
Wow. Nice catch.
Her hair is symbolic of her downfall. It's getting more and more messy !
tina silver love that! So true.
How did you not bring up how he said he convinced a girl he was Kevin Costner and that happens in this show.
Because he’s not a real fan lol
I think Odenkirk did it in real life too.
"You're not Kevin Costner"
I died.
Because there is so much detail in this masterpiece, pretty much impossible to list all of them
Igna"chio" 🤣
And tran’kw’ilo
And "polos" hermanos...
Someone has no familiarity with Spanish...😒
great now i miss titantoons
Right?
Lalo is the perfect nemesis for Saul, because he has great knees. That guy can land.
You missed one: when Saul is jogging is the shopping center there was a store called “crazy 8”
Of course he did he’s not a real fan lol
I've seen that one
There’s tons of details they missed. There’s just too damn many to put in one video 😂.
@@Samuel2oh9 and I think I saw Marie's car when Chuck go to city to find a public phone
I noticed that too but thought it maybe just a coincidence.. but should have known this show is the master of “nothing is coincidence”
Mike was a Marine sniper, Lawson didn’t teach him anything but was his spotter as the rifle was being zeroed.
Was searching for this comment
I was thinking this as well
IF they brought back Jesse or Walt, it would make more sense for it to b Jesse. He’s the one who introduced Walt to Saul, which means he must have met him or been introduced to him somehow
Pretty sure he referred him to walt because saul saved emilio/crazy8 twicee from jail, so i dont think he ever met him before, more he knows his reputation
@@vidjey2597 valid point!
Jesse didn't know Saul, Saul was Emilio's lawyer. They said it in the show dude WTF
I’d like for them to bring back Emilio

@@flicceerekts4944 no. He is right tho
The gun dealer did not teach Mike how to use the rifle.. He was spotting for him. This guy annoys me
That annoyed me too, snipers need spotters, also, Mike clearly references Vietnam, so it'd be like teachin someone to suck eggs! (where does that sayin come from eh?!?:-))
most people don't usually know how a sniper actually works, it is always a team work.
I get where the confusion comes from tho, I believe there were some minor instructions
12:02
"He's is actually gonna kill the world best lawyer and take its place" while showing Jimmy throwing bowling ball at Howard's car.
Predicted lmao.
When Mike confronted Saul in Br Ba while he was searching for Jesse by Gus's order, he just stood up and Saul, terrified, provided him a fake location. Point is: nobody in the Breaking Bad universe except for us have seen why Mike is so dangerous! And we got the answer to why Saul knew it already, after the Bagman episode. Another great attention to detail!
Yup
Nice observation, Saul maybe the only one aside from Gus’s crew who actually knew what he capable of.
Finished last season rn, this series is gold, underrated fs
Honestly some of the "things we missed" here are major plot events. If someone missed them he wasn't actually watching the show.
I seriously loved BCS more than Breaking Bad! Can't wait for season 6 !
actually its kinda sad, that they dont do more seasons....
The man who sold Mike the rifle doesn't teach Mike how to use it. He knows how to use it, Mike is familiar with the gun. He says it himself. The man is helping Mike zero the scope
This show is very underrated. Why this show haven’t got any Emmy yet. That's a shame
BCS passed BB as we rolled into Season 3. I love them both (have binged BB at least 30 times and that is on the low side), but you cant deny the masterful writing and acting of BCS!
Where’s the “pitch meeting notifications only” button?
I'm guessing this guy got paid to do a voice-over about a show he doesn't actually know very well.
Guys please, effort! These are hurtful:
1. it's not pronounced Ignacho !
2. Mike's a Vietnam sniper, the gun dealer is just spotting him, NOT teaching him how to use the rifle
Where was it explained that Mike was a Marine? I don’t doubt it, I just forget…
@@ScreaminEmu when Mike goes to the gun seller the first time, he says to Mike "you clearly have experience with this one" and Mike explains a major problem with the design of the gun how it gets jammed up in wet conditions "they should've thought of that before they sent a bunch of people into the jungle with it..."
Man I gave this video a shot after watching primarily the pitch meetings and Erik Voss from New Rockstars. I don't wanna be a dick but this video really is many steps down in quality, Ryan George is carrying this channel single-handedly.
can you leave this comment elsewhere and not under a Better Call Saul video?
God the pronunciation of this man with Spanish words
...loss pole ohs herman ohs
I kept thinking, he can't seriously believe it's pronounced "Ignachio"....
I think the last scene of better call Saul is to have a back shot of Walter White coming into and than sitting in Saul's office.
i've said this before. the show should end with Walter (Mr Mayhew) sitting in his office with his cap on
Honestly the cliffhanger at the end of season 5 may be the best in history.
What was it? I forgot. Please remind me
@@azamatyusuff when Lalo kills all of the hitmen and claims to know who order the hit and realizes that Nacho was missing from his pad and everyone Lalo had at his villa had died that he loved, he stomps off and thunder strikes ending the season
How TF have they not won an Emmys?
For me, Breaking Bad is the greatest show of all time. I found the early seasons of BCS too slow-going but have loved all of the recent seasons
yeah BCS early season is a drag, but peak BCS is better than BB
WE NEED A BETTER CALL SAUL PITCH MEETING!!!!!!!!!!
that should be super easy, barely an inconvenience
Just a suggestion: find someone who actually likes the show to narrate the video. Or, at least run the pronunciations through someone who likes the show.
@@NoJeansBob just commented the same
There were a lot of mistakes other than the pronunciations. Example: Lawson did not teach Mike how to use a sniper rifle. Mike was a sniper in Vietnam
Everytime he said "IgNACHio" I cringed
It’s already been confirmed Walt and Jesse are both back. The last scene of the show will prob be Walt walking into sauls office…
I love rewatching BCS but never really loved rewatching BB as much. Cant wait to see what Vince does next!
Slight correction, Saul recommends the nail salon laundering scheme to Jesse rather than Walt and Skyler. He suggests Laser Tag to the latter.
Could be coincidence or a super deep cut Easter egg, but regarding the "world's best lawyer" mug, Bob Odenkirk was originally the top choice to play Michael Scott in The Office, who we all know has a "world's best boss" mug. Odenkirk did actually appear in one episode of The Office towards the end as a boss of another company who acts almost the same as Michael.
Either way you just blew my mind.
Last scene is Saul washing his car bumping into bogdan then paying Walter white at the cash register
Or Walt washing Saul's car and paying Bogdan
I always wonder how big the budget for this show is while watching it. Definitely has "all the bells and whistles". One of the best shows I've ever watched.
Shame on me for "missing" that subtle detail that Bryan Cranston referred Michael McKean to audition for Better Call Saul. What an easter egg that I should have spotted.
In BB when Saul meets Walter he says he is divorced 2 times. In BCS Saul was already divorced Before he came to Albuquerque. Then Kim is his 2nd marriage. So Kim will probably leave Saul In season 6.
Who tf is "Ignachio"??? It's Ignacio🤦🏻♂️
If Bob doesn’t win any Emmy or a Globe I’ll die a little inside
Kim gave that "second best lawyer" tumbler to Jimmy to say that she is the better lawyer. Not because because there is a number 1.
Yeah but she's not in breaking bad now is she!🤔
Yeah I think he 100% missed the joke with that one… and insinuates that Jimmy’s gonna kill Kim. 🙄
14:17 the only people obsessing over whether or not old characters will show up are people who don't really watch the show.
How do I not know about this?!
Thanks for this.
Also when Walter gets the loan from the bank to buy the RV, the bank is Mesa Credit Union. But the Mesa part was in green, which connects to Mesa Verde from Better Call Saul, because Verde is green.
Such a fantastic show! I finally got around to seeing Season 5 a couple of weeks ago. Very much looking forward to Seeing 6!
Where u find season 5? It's not on netflix
@@geraldking9385 my husband bought a Super Box! You can buy them from Walmart.
I love this show so much
I love that show. I clicked on this video as soon as I seen it.
Just finished the finale, he changed the cup to number 1 lawyer after Kim resigns from bar.
Let's do another spinoff series where Huell is the main character
And then another spinoff of his dogs former owner’s girlfriend.
Lalo please! Or a young Mike
I hope 🤞 they do a flash forward of Jesse and Walt with Saul.
BCS last scene could be Saul shaking Walt's hand when they first met in BB.
Exactly
no thanks, that’ll ruin the whole series but we’ll never know.
Kinda like "How I met Your Meth Dealer"
@@CesarGarcia-ru8hr lol
personally i think better call saul is even better than breaking bad
When hector visits mike at the cafe. the bell on the door dings when hector walks in...
We need confirmation that Wendell did in fact return in Season 5 of BCS.
makes me wanna watch it all over again thanks man
BCS takes the gem that breaking bad was and polishes it further.
bcs is the best.
I didn't know about FRINGSBACK...nice
I really do hate myself of being so inattentive to miss all those great details and easter eggs while watching BCS. My sincerest thanks for this greatly appreciated update! P.S. Indeed the character of Lalo is such a bliss! And Kim Wexler has become the secret hero(ine) of the show, imo!
I like how odenkirk for some reason calls him ignatzio and this dude from the video just transforms it into ignachio lol.
Better call Saul fans missed none of these :-)
Right! Lol
Exactly this is so cringe
Lawson used the qoute "Catch my drift" in BCS and when he played in the movie Blue Chips. I was wondering where I knew him from.
You forgot that he gave Jesse the nail salon to launder, there’s even a scene where Jesse and Saul sit in the salon.
funny how bob odenkirk, bryan cranston and also anna gunn all had appearances on seinfeld :-)
Did Jimmy have clients at Casa Tranquilla...?? I don't recall this. I thought *all* his elder clients were at Sandpiper.
If Kim and Jimmy get back together at the end, I suggest using the song “she’s my ride home” by Blue October as the ending
100% agreed. A masterpiece.
Okay. Good job. I didn’t know about that Jessie tag...
amazing
I’m fairly sure I saw Vince Gilligan make an on screen cameo as an extra.
Never thought I'd like Lalo too much when they introduced him, but here I am!
I think Better call Saul will end at the exact moment jimmy meet Walter White.
I hope it will!
@@colinqualm6422 what
@@monke4476 I hope it will end like that, well I would like one of the episodes to end at that moment, without having to see walter himself. It just seems like a cool cliffhanger
@@colinqualm6422 wha wha whaaaaa
Walt is in the car on the intro, its when theyre talking About businesses for walt to buy
Thank god for Gould. Lalo is the best!
I could see one of Jessie's friends making an appearance in BCS, giving a connection to the two shows, even a minor traffic stop. Putting the bug in the ear of Jessie going to Saul in BB.
Lawson wasn’t teaching Mike how to use the rifle. It’s clear Mike knows how to use it from their conversation in the hotel room. Lawson is just assisting Mike to dial in the scope
Masterpiece of prime time.
Did anyone notice they had those decorative ball things on Walters table in his condo, that Saul was talking about in his series?
Just look at the views a normal screen rant video has compared to pitch meetings
He doesn’t teach him to use a sniper rifle, he helps him get it dial and true.
Another easter egg is that in the first episode when we see his yellow suzuki, his white car from Breaking bad is right next to it.
9:15 'Los polos harmanos'
Kim is from Nebraska and Saul ended up there. I have to believe that’s not a coincidence.
Remember when Ignachio worked at Los Pole-os Hermanos?
Ignachio >.< When someone who hasn't even watched the show is presenting things we missed. Bro you yourself missed it all.
😂😂😂😂
I feel like the last shot of BCS needs to be Walter coming through Saul's office doors to get counsel for Badger
That’s exactly what I thought!
IF they bring in Walter White for a cameo, I hope, just for the fun of it, it's super minor - like standing in line at the grocery store or something like that.
A bit similar to me wanting Liam Gallagher to only play tamburine on one of my band's records.
He’s rumored to come back for a cameo but not Jessie idk why but would be great
Michael McKean is also friends with Bob odenkirk From Saturday night live Where Bob was a writer and Michael a featured player and Michael was on an episode of Mr. Show oh as the college professor
9:10 did you notice?
Hotel Ziegler was caught by Mike in is The samé location don eladio lives in.
I'd say BCS and BB are equal. Both are so good!!
in the first season mike hit this guy who got many guns, later in season 5, saul hires a guy who should found smt against the banker kevin. Im not sure, but are they both the same actor? btw. most of these details I acutally noticed!
Definitely appreciated the Mr. Plinkett homage. ‘You may not have noticed…but the writers did.’
The sad thing is, since Kim isn't in Breaking Bad, she and Jimmy either split up, or something bad happened to her.😥
Not necessarily! She may be offscreen (although I don’t think they’re together if that’s the case)
Not necessarily
Her being missing in Breaking Bad could open up BCS to the Vacuum repairman character.
@@michaelcostello6414 I dont think they would go that route, as that actor Robert Forrester has passed away.
Nice material...However ;) The gun runner was not teaching Mike how to use the sniper rifle. The guys were just tweaking the sights and Mike was getting familiar with the characteristics of this particular weapon piece. Also, Mike mentions the issue of wooden stock that was prone to damage in tropical environment, so it's possible that back in the days he was in army deployed overseas. Maybe Fring's primo fixer was a sniper?
11:19 Damn, Kim.
Both Jesse and Walter White drove distinctive automobiles: The "Cap'n Cook" Monte Carlo and that puke green Pontiac Aztek. They could be seen driving around, which could satisfy the easter eggers.
This is awesome! Thank you so much!
Mike was taught by the USMC not by the guy selling guns.
What episode reveals that
This show is so underrated
Can't be better timing than this
