I will continue to shout it from the rooftops, this car is NOT a stock car. This is an IMSA GT3 car. It races like an IMSA GT3 car. Expecting it to race like a real stock car is foolish. The Xfinity series now runs the highest form of actual stock cars in NASCAR.
I agree with this statement. I’ve been traveling around the country watching Xfinity races in person and it’s like a throwback to gen 4 most races this season. I haven’t been to a cup race since 2014 before they lowered the horsepower. I’ve only went to short tracks and road courses for cup races up until 2022. Best decision I’ve ever made. Once they fix these cup cars I’ll be going to Xfinity and Truck races for now on.

Instead of the green/white/checkered for overtime, would maybe 5 lap overtime help reduce the chaos? It would give the drivers a couple more laps for the the finish to develop vs the current version which is basically a “sudden death” run forcing drivers to go “no boundries” to the finish in one lap.
I watched this event on USA channel. I think this event was boring as hell! 50% commercials ,no passing, but the last turn on the last lap turned out pretty good.
I wouldn’t waste my money on superspeedway racing when driving performance is left up to momentem and slipstreaming determing the results but to each their own. But to me road racing separates the men and the boys.
I’m guessing that’s inclusive of passes made during green flag pit stops then divided by the total of laps. Absolutely no way 80% of cars were passing every lap.
I will say this every week until NASCAR reads my comment: Go back to full season points pre 2004. What other racing series runs their races with the playoffs and segments? That’s what made Indycar miles more entertaining than NASCAR on Sunday. You still had good racing and a freaking fuel mileage finish that happened naturally. Imagine what stage cautions would have done with the Indycar race with the championship on the line? It would have killed the strategy. That’s another thing: a natural championship 4 for Indycar when NASCAR needs a March Madness bracket to have 4 eligible drivers. It’s a joke! But that’s what happens when you have Jeff, Jordan, Steve Phelps, and all the 18-20 year olds that wants to chase away pure racing fans in exchange for entertainment since they can’t look away from their cell phone for 60 whole seconds. As someone once said “great racing is entertainment, entertainment does not make great racing”. Anything besides paying attention to their dying parents and sucky football teams is boring to them.
