I loved how Madeline was sweet to Rory. It made watching the Chilton episodes more enjoyable for sure. Sweet character, sweet actor. And she is right, the show is still a comfort of mine and I don't even really know why.
I think I do. It created a safe place in your mind. It isn't a show about only good moments, but the bad moments are always handled with an adult way to remember us that everything has a solution to problems and that time heals and everything will be alright. The feeling that everything will be alright at the end despite us not knowing where it leads is what makes it a comfort. At least, that is the reason for me.

I always thought Madeline and Louise were secretly together and everything boys crazy was a lie so they didn't suffer all the social repercussions. I thought that it was super interesting that she said that her and Louise would be raising a child together
And remember when Rory and Paris ran into them on spring break and they talked about how they kissed each other? I think you are onto something here lol!

So true, it is such a comfort. Whenever I feel down, tired, upset, blah, I just want to watch Gilmore Girls and hang out in there for a while.
Safe and comforting. That's why we return to STARS HOLLOW. Come home after a bad day, and see an episode or two of the characters and the town, Luke's diner or Patty's. Gives us some comfort. You can watch them over and over and still enjoy it like the first time.

Madeline and Louise were so great. I love the idea that they were dating each other all through high school and just using boys for fun / as a cover. But the idea of them deciding to co-parent a sassy fashion diva child as best friends because no one else **gets** them quite like they do is also hilarious
"It's a safe place and it's such a comfort" - that's really accurate. This show has relatable, decent characters; a cozy small town and a mix of happy, sad and funny moments. You can watch this show and see yourself in any one or many of the characters.
No matter how many times I watch it, it's amazing that I feel every emotion as if it's the first time ever - I think that speaks volumes to the writing and the cast. I'm really happy and proud to have been here from the early stage of it.
I'm 27, so discovered the show about 15 years ago a bit into it starting. I would relate to Rory a lot the first couple of times I re-watched it, but as time moved on I started understanding choices and decisions Lorelai made more. I grew up with the show and was able to enjoy it in different moments. I'm keen to see how I react in 10 years from now to it.
You describe how I feel with the show too! I'm 30 and I experienced the same thing, relating to Rory when I watched it as a teen, but relating more to Lorelai now that I'm closer to her character in age. Maybe in 20 years we'll understand Emily!
I think she's right about that character....always forward. She never wanted too think too hard or ruin the good in anything.

Amazing how 20 years after the 1st episode and that show still resonates! Re-watching for the second time and it is incredibly how very little is dated, really shows that at the core were the relationships.

I love this show to this day. Discovered it when I was 15 years old and I'm almost 30. 15 years later and it's my favorite show. It Brought me so much comfort as I was growing up.
It still brings me so much comfort 🥰 now I am showing it to my boyfriend and he loves it too 💕

I think the show was comforting because the town of Stars Hollow seemed so cute, whimsical and welcoming. Also, even though Lorelei had her struggles, being a single mom having Rory at such a young age and leaving her rich parents that didn't approve of her lifestyle and then establishing a new life of her own was really heavy content, yes, I think the way the Gilmore Girl's handled life was comforting. Lorelei seamlessly tackled everything from work problems to her daughter's dilemma's with her quick wit and humor, while Rory tried to take her Mother's approach with things but also had her own brand of solving issues with ease. They made you feel like life was fun if you didn't take it so seriously and had a fuzzy clock that purred! Also love Madeleine, her character warmed up the "mean girl" vibe they were going for, she played a fun character!

Wow She's Looking Great! I just looked her up, and she's over 10 years older then I thought she was.
The show truly is a comfort and I'll explain my reason. A little bit about me: I read a lot, I watch a lot of TV and movies, I drink far more coffee than I need to (with a tbs of sugar and a tiny bit of milk to cool it down so I can get to drinking it faster), I like to write... A LOT, 90% of my vocabulary is references to something I've watched or read (seriously... when my friends don't understand what I'm saying they ask what I was referencing). I find Gilmore Girls comforting because I feel like I'm part of it. My mother and I don't have the best relationship. I rarely ever talk to her and see her and when I do it's because she wants to see my brothers and I tag along. I love Gilmore Girls because in a way Lorelai is my mom. I watch Gilmore Girls when I'm upset, when I need cheering up or just for the fun of it. Lorelai and the rest of the cast is always there to cheer me up when I'm upset for an reason. Emily and Lorelai's relationship also brings me comfort because it shows how much Emily loves Lorelai (sometimes). I like to watch Lorelai have nice moments with her mom because I don't really ever get them myself. So I guess what I'm saying is Gilmore Girls is so comforting to me because I have to "live vicariously" through it in some portions of life.

I don’t really care about wether there is a reboot or not. I’m just really happy that we have interviews of other cast members as well 🥰
I spent my time watching it with my sister while we talked on the phone after the show about what we loved about it or what we where shocked about.
I wish her character and the character of Louise would have been in scripts until the last episode in 2007. Both young ladies did a great job.

I think part of why it’s so comforting is it feels so timeless, similar to Harry Potter. Because it was before smartphones, social networks etc, people actualy hang with each other, they talk, do fun stuff etc. And they’re nice to each other. It’s something most of us would really love to live through but we simply can’t anymore. I’ve personaly seen GG 7 times and I’ll se them many more times again, it’s a love for the rest of my life and I hope to watch it again with my kids when they’re older if they’ll want to watch something “so old” with their daddy :D

I think it was comforting as it was something different and unique, that wasn't like greys or buffy with action and constant drama but relatable to extent so it made it more real :) :)
I always thought Madeline was a down to earth kind of girl up for anything if someone for example said let's go to California right now she probably be right on it ok let's go 🤣🤣🤣. I wouldn't mind if Madeline and Louise were my besties cause they looked like they was always having some fun. Shelly Cole seems a lot like her character on Gilmore Girls fun, loving, and would be anyone's friend as long as they were true blue I wouldn't mind being her friend for real

To me, Madeline was the type of girl that is friendly to everybody, just because. Like Shelly said, Madeline lives in her own little world and I don't get the feeling that, in there, there would be much room for intentionally be mean to people.
I always thought Madeleine was dumb, but sweet! Nicer than Louise for sure! And everyone should watch Prey For Rock N Roll, Shelley is awesome in that movie!
