One of the greatest single song guitar performance Ever. To this day very few guitar solos give me chills. To think how young he was and that this is like 50 years ago. How Great he was or how Great he would of became?? Side note people forget Ozzy really had a great voice.
Randy's polka dot guitar is a custom by a guy named Sandoval based on the flying V shape. Actually his most Famous V design IMO, the Concorde V can be seen to the right in the background on the floor along with his les Paul.
1980 with Blue oyster cult Lebbon Valley speedway NY. The Black And Blue consert !!! WoW! What a show! Thousands of people showed up traffic jams all night, what a mess! 😂
You mentioned "Ozzy in his prime" and what's crazy is that today he doesn't speak very well but still sings just as clear and awesome as he ever did. Even in old age the dude slays with his singing voice.
Check out Quiet Riot- Metal Health or Cum on feel the noize. Rhodes was in this band before he left to Ozzy. THe Bassist Rudy Sarzo was also on both Quiet Riot and Ozzy, Rudy went back after Randy passed.
Randy Rhoads was out of Quiet Riot for at least 4 years prior to the release of *Metal Health.* That was Rudy Sarzo on bass, all right, but it was Carlos Cavazo on guitar.
I hope you can react soon to any song from Ozzy's Tribute To Randy Rhoads. Randy was like a Super Nova on stage live. That's where he shined the brightest to me. Makes my eyes water.
Jamel I subscribed to you some time earlier last year, and your reactions and love for music are excellent and genuine. Thank you for checking out Ozzy with Randy Rhoads, he's my favorite Guitarist and anyone giving him recognition is always a scholar. The man, R.I.P., inspired so many to in a way was toe to toe with Eddie Van Halen, had he been around longer who knows, same applies to Hendrix & SRV. He even inspired Zakk Wylde (who is Ozzy's last guitar hero i'd love for you to check him out) and Dimebag Darrell of Pantera, to which those two became best friends go figure from their love for Randy. I definitely recommend you checking out the album Diary of a Madman along with the live album Tribute, my favorite guitar solo of all time is from that album, Suicide Solution live, THATS WHERE you hear Mr. Rhoads at his peak! He was known as a Neo-Classical Guitarist, even though he passed young his musicianship with forever be immortalized by future generations. Much love man! Also your Brothers are awesome editions to your videos, peace✌
It was fun watching you guys watch and react to this! This was a recorded rehearsal before they went out on the road and Ozzy watching his band at the end was his pure excitement of how good his band was playing before they went on tour. Randy was an incredibly humble guy and soaked up music and how to play music on guitar and all it's uses. He learned every chord, scale and modes and was venturing into playing classical guitar before he died.
I'm always in awe of the pacing of this song... It is slow and chugging along, methodically... Truly capturing the person it's about... The way Randy plays it, it feels like it was played faster... Then slowed down in production.
Bass player Rudy Sarzo joined Quiet Riot after Randy's death, it was as the band Randy left to join Ozzy. Rudy is on record claiming the pilot who was flying the plane was suicidal and was intentionally trying to crash into the tour bus where his estranged wife was sleeping, Rudy says he could see them fighting for control in the cockpit as they passed over the bus.
You show up with a guitar like that you better play! And did he ever! Ozzy fell in love at the audition,it didn't last long! Love you guys for knowin and showing!

You know something creepy getting ready to go down with that crazy organ sound. That polka dot guitar some sorta flying V Jackson means Randy Roads one of the GOAT.RIP!He hadn't reached near his full potential.
I love how Ozzy just keeps looking at Randy with utter love and amazement. You can totally imagine he is just thinking "are you guys seeing this shit!!!!"
Randy Rhoads was also in Quiet Riot and he was taken at a young age! Ozzy took it very very hard. Randy was going to go on and have a great future! RIP. Ozzy started on drugs really bad afterwards! I mean more then usual lol.

Randy’s thing going back to Quiet Riot days, we’re bow ties & polkadots. Especially polkadot bow ties! So when he had Jackson build these custom guitars he/they imbued them with his signature style. Randy was truly amazing and one of a kind. Enjoyed your video with you and your boys.
You honed in on a great live video. Just so you can appreciate, there is very little live footage of the late great Randy Rhodes with Ozzy! A real treat for all! Love the reaction! Keeping it real!
Also, the Flying V guitar and the Explorer guitars date from the late 1950s. You think Randy’s guitar was something to behold in 1981, imagine how heads turned when guitarists were first playing those guitars 20+ years before that!
Polka dot guitar; Randy was known for wearing little polka dot bow ties in his previous band: Quiet Riot. The theme continued with that custom built Flying V. Hey, it was a 70' thing or a disco thing....cut him some slack! He was an original! And the inlays on the guitar neck....are little bow ties too! Custom order Marshall cabinets and heads, Altec Lansing speakers (I can't think of anyone else that used 'em) - Randy had his own tone, look, and musical style. Everyone that knew him said he was the kindest person on earth. R.I.P. Randy Rhoads.
Jamel, that polka dot V that Randy is playing was built by Karl Sandoval, at Sandoval Engineering. He is still building guitars, and sells that particular RR guitar. So, at the time, it was one of one. But, one can be purchased today for about $10K.
I actually live beside boleskine house. Jimmy page bought it in 70s but it unfortunately burnt down a few years back. It's situated on the banks of loch Ness . A beautiful part of the world
It was sad that Randy Rhoads (guitar) was gone not long after this was filmed in 1981 (?) ... Ozzy had 2 platinum records out and was outselling Black Sabbath (w/ Ronnie James Dio) at that point in 1982, when the plane crash claimed Rhoads' life. The bassist was Rudy Sarzo, who had played w/ Randy Rhoads in his L.A. band Quiet Riot... Tommy Aldridge on drums, a monster player in the calibre of Zeppelin's John Bonham. Aldridge had played w/ Black Oak Arkansas & Pat Travers in the 70's, and would join Whitesnake years later. Sarzo & Aldridge came in after Bob Daisley (bass) & Lee Kerslake (drums) left Ozzy's band in 1981 after playing on both Ozzy records... I think Don Airey was playing keyboards - he had played in the band Rainbow, and would join Deep Purple in 2003.
Just to add....Daisley and Kerslake wrote the vast majority of the first two albums. Great writing too. And then Sharon came along and binned them !!! A travesty.
@@tenchmagic Uh no. Kerslake did not write for Ozzy. Bob Daisley did write all the lyrics tho... Randy Rhoads wrote all the music. The way Ozzy worked back then was... Randy would sit and play him pieces of music. If Ozzy liked what he heard, he'd pick that riff or idea and they would come up w/ a song structure... Ozzy would sing the melodies and come up w/ song titles or choruses. It was Bob Daisley who would listen to Ozzy's melodies and have to write lyrics for him to sing, taking cues from Ozzy's ideas. That's how 'Goodbye to romance' came together... 'Crazy train'... 'Suicide solution'... etc. In fact, Bob Daisley would write lyrics for Ozzy from 1980 til 1991... he had a 'falling out' w/ Ozzy during 'No more tears'... Motorhead's Lemmy wrote lyrics on 'No more tears'... he claimed Ozzy & Sharon paid him more money $ for that record than he had ever made in Motorhead.
@@sumonjamal1653Um no, Lee Kerslake was definitely involved with Bob & Randy with songwriting, & Lee even sang more in the rehearsals because Ozzy was so rarely ever there, so to claim that Lee wasn’t involved is a ludicrous rewriting of history. Bob Daisley tells in his book For Facts Sake, how Lee sings more then Ozzy on his 8 hours+ holy grail rehearsal tapes, that reveal how Lee created many of the vocal melodies, that Ozzy stole the credit for which is why Sharon & Ozzy will never let them be released. Randy got deeply depressed after Bob & Lee were fired & as time went on Randy’s heart was no longer in it, & he was really underpaid & suffering in his role, & got assaulted by Ozzy for wanting to quit the band, just before he was killed in a reckless accident on Sharon’s watch. & Then it turned out that the hired guns Rudy & Tommy were not songwriters & couldn’t function in a studio setting. & For the rest of his drawn out career Ozzy never had such a brilliant team of songwriters that he lucked into with Black Sabbath & then with Randy, Bob & Lee…🤟🏼
This was filmed on April 28th 1981, just 5 days after Rudy & Tommy’s very first live show with Ozzy on April 23rd 1981, & Randy died on March 19th 1982…🎸
@@derangedhermit2879 Boy, why r u making s+++ up to slag Ozzy and Sharon? Lee Kerslake did nothing major outside of Ozzy and Uriah Heep... and Bob Daisley worked for Ozzy until the 90's and was paid quite well before he had a falling out. Randy Rhoads brought in bassist Rudy Sarzo from Quiet Riot... Tommy Aldridge was a good friend of Ozzy's... Daisley and Kerslake were not fired - they quit. I think Randy's mom Dolores called them "idiots"... The problem was finances: Ozzy was in debt and all his royalties were going to Sabbath's manager Don Arden and what they only made money on tour... Uriah Heep offered them a better-paying gig in 1981, so they went back and recorded the album 'Abominog'... Of course, Uriah Heep's fortunes fell by 1983 and Bob Daisley was offered to work on Ozzy's 3rd album 'Bark at the Moon'... so, he took the job. He was Ozzy's lyricist until 1991... Daisley also got a gig w/ Gary Moore because Ozzy was friends w/ him. As far as I know... tapes are just conspiracy theories and unfounded claims that Ozzy wasn't singing.... he was essential working on vocal melodies in the studio. Every vocal melody u hear on Ozzy's records is his. As far as Randy Rhoads, they admit that he was becoming weary of the fights between Ozzy and Sharon by 1982 and expressed leaving Ozzy's band... Ozzy was often drunk and probably did not say the right thing... but he never 'assaulted' Randy. And there was drama... apparently Sharon slept w/ Randy after she caught Ozzy cheating on her... but they both loved him. They still can't explain why Randy Rhoads got on that airplane... Rudy Sarzo recalled Randy asking him to join him on the airplane that day but Sarzo declined... They were all shocked when the plane crashed. Sharon was so devastated that she couldn't watch Ozzy's live set for months when new guitarists were brought in... She would usher Ozzy to the stage and then leave before the band started playing. And ur claims about Rudy Sarzo and Tommy Aldridge were bogus... Sarzo left to rejoin Quiet Riot and proved himself to be a great studio musician in Whitesnake as well... Tommy Aldridge recorded 'Bark at the Moon'... also joined Whitesnake in 1987 w/ Sarzo... and Ozzy recommended him for recording Motorhead's 1992 album 'March or die' after Philthy had been fired. Lemmy Kilmister said that Ozzy and Sharon were so generous that they paid him more money to write lyrics for Ozzy's 'No more tears' album than he had made in Mororhead's career... Zakk Wylde is a millionaire now because of Ozzy and Sharon paying him for his work. Obviously, past members like Bob Daisley and Jake E. Lee have axes to grind but u can't take their word as gospel either cos the lot of them were drunk or doing drugs...
Hey Jamel, keep up the great work! There's another Ozzy Osbourne song called Fire In The Sky, from the album No Rest For The Wicked. Very awesome, I think you would like it too
I just have to say of probably all music I love, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin etc ozzy osbourne is my all time favorite. I was luck enough to see a Back Sabbath reunion tour with my sons in Memphis in 1999. My youngest son was 14 a few years before that concert when we let him and a friend ride the bus up to St Louis for Ozfest and they had to get home before seeing ozzy so when the reunion happened not only did I have to see it Matthew deserved to experience Ozzy in person and live
Jamel saw you do this song solo, then next up the bros reaction. Always entertaining to see their reaction love the interplay between you 3. Keep em coming got me hooked.
Randy Rhoads was a member in the first formation of Quiet Riot. The Bass guitarist in this video is Rudy Sarzo....who also played in Quiet Riot prior to this.
If you guys are still reading comments... organs often have two or more keyboards (called "manuals"), as well as pedal keys, with different sounds. In some bands they'll also have keyboards for synth, piano, etc., sometimes stacked, sometimes separate.
This was truly a Super Group. Rudy Sarzo on base! The master of drums, Mr. Tommy Aldridge and of course Randy. No need to mention Ozzy, love him or hate him none can deny he was born for the stage. And he’ll likely die on stage as well. One day far in the future of course. What will folks think of our music in 100 or 200 years?! Or will there even be a world by that time?! We’re headed down a one way road driving backwards! ✌🏽
This Video was from my local tv station back in the 80's in Rochester, NY before they went out on their tour. They also filmed Crazy Train live. It was a promotional thing Ozzy did. Korn and Metallica also used Rochester to practice for a tour. Luck to be a musician and be around some amazing artist as they passed thru town either opening for them or being backstage. Got to meet some of my musical heroes. Enjoy watching you expand your musical vocabulary, keep the music of any kind alive and never give up playing if you have the passion. Someday you may meet the ones that inspired you.
Great reaction. I agree with the camera should have been on Randy from the beginning of his solo. Randy went to his audition with his little amp and guitar. He plugged in and warmed up. Everyone said that was great, thinking that was his audition because his warm up was so good. I grew up in Florida, had tickets to see Ozzy Osbourne in Hollywood (if I remember right). Heard of the radio in my car about the plane crash and they said "Ozzy Osbourne is not dead." Then they said, "But Randy Rhodes is." I was like, "Fuck Ozzy." Randy is a once in an era talent.
That guitar is actually a Jackson Randy Rhoads edition. Jamel, you need a miniature version of that one for your wall. He truly is a legend...gone WAY too soon. I saw him live 3 times.

@@v.j.3029 My mom wouldn't let my dad or me play the guitar. My dad was very weak, and my mom was an extreme bully and cruel. I tried to get my dad to divorce my mom but he was too weak to even do that.
@@drServitis Well that sucks, sorry to hear that.☹
that cool interlude is done by the keyboards and guitar chorusing (playing the same thing) which gives it that cool sound, especially as both are spot on.
We can't even imagine what amazing music we'd have if St Rhoads had lived... he was too damned good!
Amen
Best of the best
Many think he wouldn’t even be playing Metal anymore. His true love was for Classical.
@@joeminor15 it would still be amazing.
Gotta do the live rendition of "Revelation Mother Earth" to truly get an appreciation for what Randy Rhoads could do with a guitar
Saw him in 81 with Roads his stage set up was insane
Saw him Feb '82!
1980 with Blue oyster cult Lebbon Valley speedway NY.
The Black And Blue consert !!!
WoW! What a show!
Thousands of people showed up traffic jams all night, what a mess! 😂

@@MrDhilrd WOW. That was right before he died!!!
Wow so lucky
You mentioned "Ozzy in his prime" and what's crazy is that today he doesn't speak very well but still sings just as clear and awesome as he ever did. Even in old age the dude slays with his singing voice.
Yep, Ted Nugent can still rock it as well. I just turned 50 so I grew up to Ozzy and Nugent.
I saw him a few years ago with Black Sabbath and his voice is shot. He croaked into the microphone for an hour. Still a great show.

RIP Randy Rhodes 🙏🏻. One of the Great Tracks from Ozzy’s first solo Album, “Blizzard of Ozz”. Great reaction Guys!
Check out Diary of a Madman by Ozzy Osbourne studio version. Just Beautiful
Yes!!! My all time favorite song!
An often overlooked gem!😝🤘🦇💥🔥
I hope you can react soon to any song from Ozzy's Tribute To Randy Rhoads. Randy was like a Super Nova on stage live. That's where he shined the brightest to me. Makes my eyes water.
That whole album is great
*Rhoads
Had the fortune of seeing Ozzy and the blizzard of oz with Randy Rhodes in 81 i think. Ah, the good old days.
Never did I think I needed 3 dudes all bobbing their heads in approval but now I see I do 😂
Don Airey on keyboards. He played with Cozy Powell's Hammer, Rainbow, Gary Moore, Ozzy, Deep Purple,
Wow! 3 Brothers listening to Ozzy. This is the 3rd sign of the Apocalypse.....LOL Love the channel!
that guitar could have rainbows and unicorns plastered on every inch of it and if Randy is playing it, i'm cool with it!
Ozzy with the fringe.
Also your Brothers are awesome editions to your videos, peace✌
yep, my fave is Children of the Grave. Randy went to the stratosphere on that one
Ozzy had some outrageous fits when he went solo and some with Black Sabbath as well. That Jackson polka dot Flying V guitar is iconic Randy Rhodes.
You mean “outfits”?
@@joeminor15 Do you mean “Do you mean…”. If you are going to be the grammar police you should use better grammar.
Randy is buried at the Mountain View Cemetery in San Bernadino.....Js. Take care!
I love "Crazy Train" with Ozzy and Randy.
React to Ozzy "OVER THE MOUNTAIN" 🤗
Ohh yeahhh!
This is one of Randy’s greats solos of all times. He died way to young. He is my guitar hero. I love everything he did
I'm always in awe of the pacing of this song... It is slow and chugging along, methodically... Truly capturing the person it's about... The way Randy plays it, it feels like it was played faster... Then slowed down in production.
I have this on cassette,8 track, vinyl and vd...this version is slowed down. The original is played faster.
Rudy was a member of Quiet Riot in 1978 - 79 with Randy. That's how Randy knew about him and recommended him for the job with Ozzy's band.
This best part is 8:53, when Randy Rhodes starts shredding like his life depended on it!
So much power coming from that guitar!! Drums insane!! Sounding so tight!! What a band!!
You show up with a guitar like that you better play!
And did he ever!
Ozzy fell in love at the audition,it didn't last long!
Love you guys for knowin and showing!
Randy Rhoades could make guitar playing look like second nature...one of the best ever.

Randy is an Angel now. He was a great gift to music. So many guitarists are still inspired by his short but powerful life. What would have been?
Considering that Randy is a Heavy Metal Guitarist, that might not be a complment but an insult. They do have a reputation to uphold after all.
Calling him an Angel that is...the other stuff is not exactly an insult...
Randy Rhoads was also in Quiet Riot and he was taken at a young age! Ozzy took it very very hard. Randy was going to go on and have a great future! RIP. Ozzy started on drugs really bad afterwards! I mean more then usual lol.
Pffft. Ozzy was already on drugs at the time. His drug habit just got worse.
@@bobthebear1246 I said he started on drugs really bad I know he was on drugs before but after is when it spiral out of control and if it wasnt for Sharon , Ozzy would of been dead along time ago hate saying that but its my opiniin! Great reaction, guys! This song is like a mini rock opera. So glad to have this video saved for posterity!
Ozzy is so intoxicated in this performance. OMG
And the clothes. 😂😂😂
Good to see the family together!!!!!!!
Randy is my favorite guitarist of all time, my guitar tone is heavily based on his, I just love the moxy and style he has in this video
Jamel, that polka dot V that Randy is playing was built by Karl Sandoval, at Sandoval Engineering. He is still building guitars, and sells that particular RR guitar. So, at the time, it was one of one. But, one can be purchased today for about $10K.
Mr. Crawley was a real person that Ozzy was interested (Along with a lot of others) in.
Check it out!

I've never heard anyone even come close to Randy! He was spooky good!!
The beginning of Jackson Guitars
I actually live beside boleskine house. Jimmy page bought it in 70s but it unfortunately burnt down a few years back. It's situated on the banks of loch Ness . A beautiful part of the world
The look on Ozzys face, he knew his band was platinum. I cannot believe how long ago this was. Memories.
Yeahhhhh!!!! Mr Crowley!!! What up fellas!!!
🤘🏻🎤😩🎸🤘🏻
The problem was finances:
Ozzy was in debt and all his royalties were going to Sabbath's manager Don Arden and what they only made money on tour...
Hell yes!! Thank you for viewing Mr. Crowley, best song ever!
Hey Jamel, keep up the great work! There's another Ozzy Osbourne song called Fire In The Sky, from the album No Rest For The Wicked. Very awesome, I think you would like it too
Music now doesn't compare. I feel so privelaged to have grown up in this era of music. Freaking amazing
Randy is one of the best guitarists of all time
Randy Rhoads was a member in the first formation of Quiet Riot. The Bass guitarist in this video is Rudy Sarzo....who also played in Quiet Riot prior to this.
The bass player in red is Rudy Sarzo from Quite Riot. He's still rocking today.
Buddy Guy has a polka dot fender strat. Not many rock the flying V guitar.
The ultimate band lineup that will remain unmatched for eternity
If you guys are still reading comments... organs often have two or more keyboards (called "manuals"), as well as pedal keys, with different sounds. In some bands they'll also have keyboards for synth, piano, etc., sometimes stacked, sometimes separate.
1981 Ozzy and the start of Glam Rock, If it weren't For Randy Rhoads...revived Ozzy. I saw Ozzy at ASU 1981 their first tour...awesome!
this video is pure joy. Randy Rhoads will live until people enjoy music.
Thanks for this masterpiece reaction.

Ah Randy...literally my favorite guitarist of all time. Gone way too soon. His art lives on.
Heard of the radio in my car about the plane crash and they said "Ozzy Osbourne is not dead." Then they said, "But Randy Rhodes is." I was like, "Fuck Ozzy."
Randy is a once in an era talent.
Those first two solo ozzy albums were magic. Coincidentally the two that Randy Rhoads was on…
