    I agree with you about planting two trees instead of one. You have a better chance of one tree doing better than the other. The other thing good about planting two is a lot of different fruit trees benefit from cross pollination as well as attracting some of the same beneficial pollinators

    The most common pest for these are the leaf footed bug. They are a nightmare if you do not control them. You can easily do it daily with a sprayer filled with dish soap and water. These bugs can not breathe in this liquid and its organic method. i have tried many other bug sprays and none work. This works great. Spray them and they will fall off the leaves and you can collect them in a bowl and discard them. They do fly. If you have not had these yet. You will. It took mine two years before these bugs showed up.

    for guava tree, the more ofthen you prune, the more fruits you get. count from the new branch, pinch off new growth after the 4th pair of leave, you'll get flowers on the third pair of leaves, a couple weeks later.

      @tropicalfruitman4394  2 года назад

      It may need more hours of sunlight. Try a 2-10-10 fertilizer with other nutrients and make sure it gets enough water. A light pruning may help get fruit production going but prune it when there is not fruit on the tree, maybe in late winter.

      Florida has bad nematodes. They say that mulch discourages them. Maybe some. Pete from Green Dreams youtube says you can plant figs, still in the pot, and the buggers don't go deep enough to get to the roots.
      I bought the good nematodes one year. "Ladies in Red" There were like a million in a teaspoon, you mix with water and sprinkle around.
      But it's too hot in Florida. They die. We have to do it in the winter, it cost alot of money. I believe it works but over the years it's like back to normal here. It did save a bunch of trees and bushes.
