Former Torontonian here who used to love going to Bills games at Rich Stadium in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s (still remember those Polish sausages!), and also saw the Stones there in ‘81 etc….Given the weather postponement of the last day and others that have occurred there in Orchard Park, was there any consideration given to building the new stadium outside of the lake effect snow belt area? Maybe somewhere between Buffalo and Niagara Falls NY if not downtown Buffalo? Also, I am hearing there is no dome on the new one. Is that strictly for economics or are they afraid it might not hold the amounts of snow they get there? It might pay for itself in a few years in savings of $20 per hour snow shovelers! 😂 Anyway, good to see the new stadium progressing. Building the stadium in downtown Buffalo would have added another ~$1 billion+ to the cost. To build the infrastructure/roads etc made in infeasible. In addition, residents in downtown made it clear they would do anything and everything to stop this kind of project in their backyards.

You can also have a stadium with a retractable roof system so that during days like this upcoming sunday where it's gonna be snowing with nearly 30mph winds, you can have the roof closed and likely get a better game as a result. The snow isn't so much a problem but high winds really alter how games are played.
