Thanks Sharon! We sure like to hear when others are finding them relaxing as well! They are certainly good for our soul!

It’s true this garden is not designed as much as a formal garden as it is designed to introduce outdoors and nature to inner-city youth/families. Across the street from this garden is the Dixon Gardens which are more of a formal garden setting. We did a video on Dixon as well.

OMG the Japanese Garden looks awful. Do they not have people to maintain it? It looks so blah and sad -- NOTHING like a real Japanese Garden.

What we found interesting about the Memphis gardens was interesting. As we first entered and walked around, it’s true we were not overwhelmed by their gardens! Then when we discovered what they invest in is catering to inner city children to give them outdoor spaces to experience outside play….it made more sense to us….by and large they do a great job when understanding their mission.
