  • This is a part of our series on gardens in Hawaii! We have discovered the absolute need to turn up the volume on the good things in life: Grace, Mercy, Beauty....Intentionally taking notice of these things and giving God praise for them.
Join Marnie and I as we visit the Most Beautiful Gardens. Fight for Joy, Take a Mini-Vacation and LIVE!
We visit the best Japanese and Botanic Gardens that we can find or that you recommend. We have visited gardens of Texas, gardens of Hawaii, gardens of Minnesota and Gardens of all over the United States. Our hope is to one day film gardens of the world. We would love to start with Kew Gardens and the thousands of gardens in Great Britain, but for now these are the best garden's we have explored in the United States.
I find that one of the best ways to learn "How to Plan a Garden" is to visit quality gardens. If you can't visit them all in person, subscribe to channels like ours that can take you there.
My goal is to help you to be immersed in the beauty of these spectacular pieces of art. We do this for our own Soul Care as a part of our Fight for Joy. We found ourselves at a place in our lives where we were wondering how to find joy in life among all the difficult things we were facing. it's amazing what the Beauty of God and creativity of an artist can do for your own soul care....to learn to slow down and smell the roses...to be still...! How do you deal with chaos? By intentionally forcing yourself to slow down and not let chaos steal your time and energy.
The beauty of these gardens, set to beautiful Jazz and Folk Music have helped many people find some peace and solitude. For others, these videos are filled with ideas for how to garden. They also help in How to plant flowers with various designs and even help give some ideas on how to grow your vegetables.
Garden design can take on many shapes from formal gardens to cottage gardens, from wild flowers to Japanese tea gardens. Come explore with us and find out what you might want to create in your own back yard!

I lived on Oahu, Portlock Rd, way back in the 70s. We had a huge banyan tree in our backyard. My mother was always spooked by it she said that she saw ghosts around the tree. lol! I had a bedroom that was quite close to the tree, I loved it, climbed it often. She thought the area at the base of the tree was haunted by people before. She never said native Hawaiians because she didn't know about them.

Thanks for sharing your memories! The Banyan trees are certainly something to behold. Being from the midwest U.S. , they are very different from anything we are familiar with.

The Banyan Trees fascinate me….we just returned yesterday from touring some Gardens in Florida. We saw some beautiful specimens of Banyan at the Marie Selby Gardens in Sarasota!

I lived on O'ahu for a time in the 60s and 70s, and remember stories about spirits clustering around Banyan trees.

@@timhazeltine3256 Yes. Banyans are beautiful, and spiritual. My mother saw the "ghosts," I didn't understand because I was a teen. Thought she was crazy.. Our banyan was so huge, so beautiful. I think my mother was able to see more than I was.

Thanks for the video. Did you see any songbirds there? My wife and I are visiting Kauai, Oahu and Maui for our 10th anniversary. Unfortunately for her, she is stuck with an obsessed bird photographer. Do you have any other recommendations for locations with a lot of birds, songbirds or even coastal birds? Thanks!!

are you doing the Road to Hana in Maui? It was absolutely beautiful...however if you or your wife gets carsick, make certain to bring some dramamine and maybe ginger to chew on. My wife got sick within the first couple of miles and it was a long drive after that. We saw some interesting birds at most of the botanic gardens.
