Im having a real hard time choosing between DR650 and the CRF300L, speed limits are 40-60-mph where I live. I love the idea of a nimble honda with new technology but not sure if Im willing to sacrifice highway driveability, vibrations might drive me crazy. I know you said you drive a Dr650 and bought the 250 for your friends to ride, you prefer the bush pig on and off road just because you have the experience to maneuver it ??
I'm leaving for 4 day trip tomorrow morning on my my crf that is about a 500 mile loop through the north Georgia, Tennessee and NC mountains that consists of mainly Forest service roads etc to get a better idea of how it feels on a multiple day ride , I'll be documenting it so I'll have a much better opinion for you when I get back so I'll def let you know what I come up with
@@ullithebully sweet man, looking forward to it. Have a good ride ! I got a dr650 on hold since they’re all sold out for the year already 🤌 how do you like your Dr off road ?
@@kyecowen4583 wow can't believe they all sold for the year already that was fast. Hard for me to give you a offroad opinion cause I haven't taken it into any real technical tight offroad single track situations, majority of my riding so far has been solo doing forest service roads and modest single track as I wanted to gain more experience in adventure riding as this category is very new to me (I've been a sportbike guy for the past 20 years & only rode motocross for a few of those years while in my early twenties). For everything I did throw at the DR it exceeded everything. The stock suspension is a bit mushy but I just had my mechanic install a stiffer rear spring and racetech suspension in the front but I haven't had the bike offroad yet with my suspension upgrade so I am looking forward to testing that out. The thing that's really great about the DR is the torque feels like it can pull you outta any situation you find yourself in
I've owned both bikes and am now considering purchasing another DR650. I had one built out similar to Ulli's and I miss it. The 300L Rally is very capable but down on power. I half-jokingly tell people it has built-in traction control because you can't break the back wheel loose if you try. It just wasn't enough for me. For 40 - 60 mph it would be fine. I'll shamelessly plug my own channel if you want to see it going up black diamond trails. It's a mountain goat and very capable. If you're ok with low power it's a great, modern bike. For me, I miss the grunt of the DR650.
I don't have a rpm tach , but the engine doesn't sound or feel like it's working hard at all at that speed. You can cruise easily all day long at that speed
Nice, thanks for sharing
Thank you 👍

@@chasingtrail lol love that description of it has built in traction control , perfectly said hahaha
At 50mph at how much rpm the engine runs?
