OMG Dude. If this fixes the problem I’ve been having, you’ll be my hero. I’ve lost so much video content due to this annoying buzz type noise all the time. Some video is fine and randomly other times it makes this loud annoying noice. Thank you
Sand Pirate Treasure Hunter it’s funny because I just bought a canon M50 that came with a Rose mice and it’s been doing the clicking noise too. A little quieter than my go pro, but I found a video that said the same thing as you. Turn off WiFi. I’ll let you know if it worked after my next camp trip. Thanks again
Southern Cross Prospecting that’s what I have. I was noticing in some of my latest videos my sound was acting up so I bought that adapter from GoPro and a microphone to help it out. It’s strange that it had the problem even though both were made from GoPro.
Yeah I was in panic mode. I just spent a lot of money on this setup and couldn’t use it. Lol. It’s a pain in the butt to do, but I’m hoping GoPro will have an update for it. I’m guessing not though.
@@wkcinaz yeah with them releasing the 8, I'm thinking we might be taking a back seat! I sure hope they do though, i can't amplify my volume very much without the noise floor rising up to audible levels!
Across the Plains Metal Detecting if you hear the static like I had in your videos then this fix should work for you. I mean you can hear the difference. It took me a while to find a fix for it. I searched RUclips and finally found someone that knew what they were doing.
Thank you for the tip, it is such a shame that the official gopro mic adapter does not work with the wifi on as many of us use the wifi to connect the gopro to a tablet so we can see what we are filming...Gopro should take responsibility of this issue or at least warn the sers of this bug! it is such a shame
I have a GoPro 7 Black. I also have the WiFi turned off, GPS turned off, mic set on ‘wind’ setting, and I have the external adaptor as well. The problem I’m having is I’m getting a crackling noise with the external Lavalier mic plugged into the adaptor at 65mph with my truck windows rolled down (a/c broke!). I have even went as far as covering up the built-in mic hole [with foam from a mic wind protector] on the frame, and, reinforced it with scotch tape...I’m STILL getting the noise. I don’t think it’s wind so much as that crackling type sound. Maybe it’s the Lavalier mic, idk. Any ideas out there commenters?
@@TOTALLYRELAXED I've got exactly the same problem riding my motorbike. Did you ever buy the Rode mic? Did you ever figure out how to fix the problem? I think it's the actual GoPro dongle attaching to the camera itself that is the problem, but can't be certain.
LOL, in test # 1 & 2, I thought the scooter was running. In test #3 you shut the scooter off. But, then again what do I know? Thanks, I been looking at the same set-up for my video's. GL&HH
yes m8 ive tried a few dif microphones and still the same out come, so i have sent my gopro back for a replacement, now after a lot of frustrating hassle trying to get hold of gopro, i finaly got hold of them and its now been sent back as its a faulty unit, so im waiting for a replacement gopro hero 7, which i was told could take upto 4 weeks ahhh lol i just hope the replacement isnt faulty, ps thanks for your reply.

This has been giving me a headache for too long! Thanks for sharing!
I bought a røde microphone and it fixed the problem too.
Interesting configuration.
Digging Canuck we will see how well it works.
You can also buy a housing for the gopro now that has a slot on the bottom to put the mic adapter , not cheap but about $100

@@wkcinaz i only use my external mic if its really windy. Because it has the fluffy cover on the mic.

Yea mate i always leave the wifi off on mine. It used to flatten the battery overnight if i left it on.
