MauLer: "I swear if you guys say Falcon's suit is comic accurate..."
The suit is comic accurate... which is a problem because the suit in the comics is dogshit.
Rags: "Falcon's speech was the writer putting the character on a soapbox with a megaphone to tell the audience the message."
Funnily enough that's ALSO comic accurate, and also dogshit.
The suit he was throughout the whole series was way better. The problem is that they worked hard to make Captain America’s costume tactical and fit this universe. The colors are muted with the whites being more gray, the blue being a dark blue and the reds being a maroon type color. Falcon’s suit didn’t do that, they just translated it to the films even though it doesn’t fit with how the suits were designed previously. So not only is is shit, it’s really jarring when it’s so much brighter than any of Steve’s costumes.
It's almost like just like a lot of manga, a lot of comics are pure trash.

It is the Don of a new era for EFAP.
Just to remind everyone, this show preaches about how society treats black people like shit, covering up their accomplishments and not giving them the recognition they deserve, while also treating Lamar as nothing but a tool and disregarding him the moment he’s out of frame. The irony.
Ironic? i'd say that's rather straight to the point considering the minds making it, of course they'd fuk up something like that so easily
I think that’s the point though
I guess his black life didn't matter to them.
That's literally the point lol, Lamar gets overshadowed by john constantly, matter of fact Lemar has very similar accomplishments yet they still give the shield to John, while he's left to be his sidekick, its kinda subtle yes but that was the point they were trying to make
@@kola213 I don't think the show runners are smart enough
John Walker's worst crime is not making enough use of his firearm
Super Soldiers in the MCU are inconsistent as hell due to bad screenwriting, remember the apartment scene from Civil War? KSK operators somehow in Romania (not even one of them) couldn't hit WS in torso. Karli meanwhile dies to a freaking 9mm from a Glock 26, it was different situation but seriously a squad of well trained KSKs should have at least gave a run for the Winter Soldier, CQC or not.
yep, I'd expect a super soldier to require a headshot.
And arguably him not calling the GRC to tell them when he and Lamar found the Flag Smashers and "going off the books" instead, just to ensure that they had no official support on the mission where Lamar died.
Aside from that and not using his firearm, he did most things right.

Love you guys but there were two things I think you missed in FatWS
1) the subtitles say Karli calls John (True Captain America) Walker a Nazi when he interrupts her "conversation" with Sam (just thought this one was hilarious)
2) Sam needs training with the shield and only trains on the ground, but in the finale he uses the shield perfectly with NOUGH air training or shield + wing training
2b) I would have liked if Sam had the kids shoot paintballs at him so he can try to train against gunshots (even though I know paintballs and bullets are totally different, but at least it's SOMETHING)!
I used to like Sam
Sam used to be a good character until he took a Twitter to the knee
And another thing about the training montage that bugged the hell out of me... I get that he may have to train his acrobatics to do flips'n'shit, he was regular military + wings, no need for sick flips on the ground. But how the hell, doing what he does for a living, is he not in peak condition and needs to be shown struggling to RUN?

Honestly, that conversation they had about race was really cathartic to me. Our culture may be on a downward spiral, but it’s at least somewhat comforting to know that at least this little circle is one where people don’t obsessively give a shit about identity.
Don't let the bastards grind you down. If you're not racist or istist and you don't think that way, don't let them drag you into their mental health issues.
I don't know anything about you, and I don't need to, to give a shit about where you're coming from.
You're not alone.
I feel bad for those who legitimately have been forced to care about identity, due to the bad actions of others, and have their legitimate grievances swept aside in a sea of showmanship garbage.
Edit: As a side note, I say this as a super duper socially conservative guy, but a lot of people do have legit grievances and they get pushed away by charlatans who wish to use their suffering to advance their own careers. These charlatans then make such complete fools of themselves that people like you and me really don't want to take the legitimate grievances seriously.
Just ignore the race obsessed idiots lmao
"I hate everyone equally" is my motto in life.
Dont worry too much. Most of this race obsession bullshit is something only a tiny perecentage of americans is pushing; and a bunch of confused people on social media. Mix in general american social media histeria about their politics; yet in the end, those hardcore social media user are again a tiny percentage of people.
In other countries, identity politics might exist to some degree, but its generally much tamer and less prejudiced/racist. And generally without that fucking creepy obsession with skin color...
Hightop reminds me of my kid during infancy, "Pretty colors and sounds make me happy."

I'm pretty sure the writer for FatWS was intentionally referencing that, when they gave Hoskins the similar line. *It would mean they watched at least one of the other MCU movies.* ;-/
the show literally has Lamar paraphrase that line when Walker expresses concern about taking it.
Lamar "The serum just makes you more of who you are right?"
Lamar uses the notion that the serum amplifies everything inside as the reason why he thinks Walker shouldnt worry about taking it.

Fringy was handed the metaphorical shield of third host. Muck like John Walker he has indeed earned it
3:50:00 One more Battleship error: Bucky has 4 red hits on the top of his lid, while the woman has 1. But you're supposed to put a hit up there when one of your own ships is sunk. That means the other ships _were_ previously on the board and got sunk, only the 5 health aircraft carrier is remaining with 3 hits on it.
To do that, it requires a minimum of 2+3+3+4=12 shots. Add the 3 hits on the carrier, and the woman has taken at least 15 shots to get 15 hits. However, Bucky's vertical shot grid shows he has only taken 8 shots total (3 hits, 5 misses). Why has she taken 15+ turns while Bucky only took 8?
Either this Mary Sue is literally taking 2 shots for every 1 that Bucky takes, and landing them all perfectly, or they _really_ didn't care when setting up the props.
So they fucked up Battleship in this one and tic tac toe in Black widow... these writers are so incompetent, they consistently misunderstand children's games???

This EFAP made me realize the importance of the propaganda campaign Steve went through. Even though the serum changed him physically, he still, by-in-large, lacked the charisma to back it up.
Essentially I’m saying the propaganda campaign was a training montage for Cap’s charisma.
He had the will and strength to be Captain America, all he needed was the charisma to back it up.
Now that I think of it, that's true. He had a lot of qualities of a great soldier, even leader, but lacked charisma

What we need is a show about War Machine and his struggle over the loss of Tony.
The fact that we'll never get that depresses me. Just call it armor wars and make half movie Rhoads and Pepper dealing with Tony's death. And then the iron man tech getting out and other nations getting it. And an end credit scene showing Victor von Doom in Latveria building an small arc reactor.
@@chrisscott3071 Oh yeah, they can actually do that now, since Disney now owns Fox and thus the rights to Fantastic Four. The problem is that if they try to awkwardly insert Doom and the F4 into existing MCU world, it would raise an obvious question of "Where the fuck have you all been throughout the entirety of MCU timeline?", similar to how it was with Captain Marvel. Victor von Doom and Mr. Fantastic are two of the most intellegent people on Earth in the Marvel comics universe, Fantastic Four is considered one of the most noteable superhero teams, on par with Avengers, not to mention playing a role in Civil War comics. This show makes it seem like every previous user of the serum was holding back. The closest we have to the feats of strength in this show is Cap against helicopter as far as I can tell. Like not hurting your bare hand punching/denting an iron disc, throwing an ash tray or something into the wall so hard it's embedded, holding a falling armored car. So many insane feats that I really didn't expect was possible from "optimal human serum".
in First Avenger Red Skull punches and dents the shield Steve has at the time, dunno what metal its made from though.
There is a lot of things that make them seem more superhuman than seen before I agree, but Steve's feats are more impressive than they seem. For instance when he stopes the helicopter from taking off in civil war. that helicopter has 3,000 lbs of lift, so to pull it back down Steve's basically curling over 3000 lbs. the truck he kicks into a guy at the beginning of the movie weights 3500 lbs. So Steve can casually kick around 3,500 lbs.
the beam he lifts of Bucky in Winter soldier would weight 30-40 tons.
Steve's feats are mostly more subtle, but incredibly impressive non the less. A beaten tired and twice shot Steve lifts at least 30 tons of weight...
And remember 4 times in winter soldier we see Bucky over power Steve with his metal arm.
I could buy that the serum has been improved somehow to make people even stronger, what I can't buy is that Karli can just inject it like a fucking vaccine and become a demigod. Steve was physically reconstructed by the serum chamber for his body to even handle it. Additionally, if we look at the construction of the chamber itself, it had dozens of micro-needles around places like the front chest, i.e. pectorals, implying that it needs to be injected into muscle groups. (much like how some steroid users inject into the butt) So we have every possible reason to believe it's an extremely physically demanding drug that to function properly *_at all_* causes irreversible biological changes to literally rebuild your body in peak physical condition.
Nah, Karli can just inject it and Bradley thought that giant steel sarcophagous was a vaccine apparatus.
@@redbearington3345
1 : Steve was a scrawny barely-held-together wreck before he got the serum, in order to pull those feats off his body was basically entirely reconstructed on even a skeletal level. (hence why he gained a foot in height and a few dozen pounds in muscle-mass) Karli is still tiny physically and that fact is used as a narrative element when she first attacks them since we're not supposed to think she's strong.
2 : Red Skull was, at least as I understood it, supposed to be significantly stronger than Steve. (fun fact, rewatch Cap 1 if you haven't, "I've seen the future, there are no flags!" "Not my future.")
3 : IIRC his original shield was vibranium as well, but I could easily buy that it was poorly refined in any case.
4 : there are different components of strength. For instance, being able to lift yourself up, and being able to hold yourself up, actually work differently. There just isn't one metric for strength and it's extremely circumstantial.
5 : Keeping in mind that normal ass people can literally lift cars with enough adrenaline, him being able to just barely hold a helicopter from taking off makes complete sense and would put his strength somewhere between 5-15 times stronger than a normal person, likely under 10.
6 : going back to what I mentioned about people lifting cars due to adrenaline, a pretty damn common reason for that adrenaline shot is someone being pinned under a car. So, if we assume Steve is capable of lifting a few tons normally, then we assume he's getting an adrenaline spike, and we factor in that he's not lifting the entire beam but just trying to move it off of Bucky, it's far more reasonable that it seems. Just saying "he lifted someone that likely weighed between 30-40 tons" is massively oversimplistic. Again, normal ass people have gotten cars off of others single handedly due to adrenaline spikes, does that imply that people can lift several tons? No, it was a temporary adrenaline spike in an intensive situation and they were just trying to lift one part of the thing up high enough to be able to move it off of someone else.
In short, I could buy that Steve could lift a car or kick someone through a door, I could not buy that he could rip apart solid chains with his bare hands without even needing to get some acceleration to pull them apart. (I.e. ripping apart a string you can do by just pulling it until it breaks, but extremely strong fibers you likely let get loose and THEN tug on them. It's the difference between a 500 pound man being on an elevator, and a 500 man jumping up and down on an elevator)
@@robonator2945 Bucky is meant to have had more or less the same serum as Steve at some point in The First Avenger (presumably when he was in that prison camp where he was being experimented on and strapped down to a gurney) He doesn't show much in the way of physical change but he was pretty tall, strong and muscular pre-serum so it probably didn't change his body that much, at least not externally, but it did give him the accelerated strength, speed, metabolism and healing.
Shaffrillias sorta stumbled upon something that’s rather overlooked in this show and the MCU. He referred to Sam as being dead for 5 years. Which is basically what everyone that got “blipped” was. Most everyone was likely legally declared dead at some point. Particularly anyone that turned to dust in front of someone they knew. There’s so much to deal with thanks to that stupid five year gap.
Yeah, and yet the guys in charge are evil because they refused to give up property and stuff to people who were legally declared as gone forever. They didn't know they would come back, they didn't expect anyone to come back, especially since the motherfucking Avengers themselves had declared it a lost cause until some goober in an ant costume showed up out of nowhere five years after the fact, yet somehow they were expected to just not let anybody use the abandoned property? They can't return to normalcy just suddenly, that's not realistic, yet the people who cling to an idealist fantasy are the ones telling the government to "do better."
Walker being judged for taking revenge, while Sam and Bucky are AVENGERS. is insane to me.
If we want to be technical there is a difference between getting revenge for something and avenging something. It's more or less a mentality thing. Revenge is usually viewed as the darker version and often is selfish (one committing revenge often does it for themselves and not just the person(s) who were slighted) more than selfless. One seeking revenge generally has a personal stake.
While avenging a person(s) is generally more for those who were slighted and less for yourself. Typically you don't have a personal stake in the people or the event that requires avenging. You do it because you feel it's right and those who did wrong need to be punished. Avenging also doesn't always inherently result in the death of the culprit while revenge typically has death of the culprit being the end goal.
@@TaskMaster5 That is a distinction without a difference. Revenge takes many forms, from farting in somebody's general direction to invading and destroying a nation

@@RetroFan2.0 Had this Black Widow movie come out right after Winter Soldier, I would have been excited for it.
But now, after we know she's dead in Infinity War? It's a complete wasted opportunity.
My head cannon for why falcon's mask thing only covers that section of his head. The suit originally had a steep cone shaped hood for aerodynamic purposes, Sam took one look and realized it was "problematic" and had it removed with a pair of shears.
My favorite part of the Winter Soldier and Falcon show was Captain America shield being used to smash the Flag Smashers into a pulp. Brought a big smile to my face. We kind of did the same thing in Europe after the Years of Lead to the "Flag Smashers" here both left and right.
Green Fringy and the Winter Wags (featuring Captain Mauler)
Also, don't let this distract you from the fact that Miles Morales turned Browntable into a racist.
The sun never sets on the EFAP Empire! We now have hosts on all corners of the Earth. That'll be a pain to arrange.
The funny thing with the whole "Manipulative Music" topic is that probably my all-time favourite movie (a sequel/part 3) has a opening intro song which on the surface is happy and upbeat (assuming you aren't paying attention to certain visual moments), it generally seems uplifting... but to anyone who's watched the previous parts would immediately have flags raised.
Now, i know it's fun to mock/eye-roll people who claim to "cry" at, what is usually shallow, moments but this specific song always brings me to the edge of tears. Though rather than the song itself which isn't anywhere near the in-your-face gloomy sad music, it's more of the story it's connected to (both previous parts and the movie itself). Especially after repeated watches where it's ingrained to the point that i believe the term "triggering" actually applies. (I will admit, i have also found myself tearing up a little when reading a good story book from time to time.)
With Karli, they really should of just gone with a tragic tale rather than the "she isn't really a villain" bs of modern writing. You could then still have your whole BS thing(/agenda) but have it so the good guys aim to prevent another "Karli" as it's clearly too late to "save" Karli (unless they arrest her though there is still the risk of her being a supersoldier). Sure that's a cliche storyline but at least it doesn't turn your good guys into "good guys".
I also love that there is a moment near then end where she rips off the truck's door and the driver pulls a gun on her, she puts up her hands in a "don't shoot" manner... turns out she wasn't actually surrendering, weird that.
The funny thing with Karli is that it reminded me of a villain from an old movie (i barely remember). I guess the key difference was the villain in this case was something on the lines of a Magical Alien demi-god child (something like 5yo) who had awoken in this magical dimension void so she was alone (so no moral guidence) and scared. I think it goes down the classic "take over the universe" route with magically created henchmen and what not.... But unlike with Karli, when the good guys finally defeat her, the protag literally slaps her in face before telling her what's she doing is wrong and then putting her back to sleep... While i don't remember the details of the villain things she does (outside of killing one of her own henchmen at the end), i don't think she blows people up or burns them like Karli... AND i think there is some leeway between a completely isolated child vs a "teen", even if the former is probably more dangerous in terms of power levels.
sooo, is asking falcon to at least slap Karli too much?
It is pretty depressing that people get told who to like/dislike in movies and they just agree... It feels like we are gonna lose those moments where we discuss our favourite characters and such because we are told we must love Falcon/Karli and hate Walker even when the show does a terrible job of selling us those takes.
Nice insight, it seems like people are emotionally affected by music in hugely varying ways
@@sammerry7706 Which is why i find it a shame when we have shows/movies that overuse music pieces for surface level value, constantly telling you how to feel at that moment instead of letting you reach that feeling on your own.
Of course, it's not aways bad to have surface level music but it should be used sparingly to amplify the scene and emotion that the audience is already feeling. Something like the music shouldn't carry the scene/story but add to it.
Hopefully that makes sense.
