For those in the comments. Book 1 was 4.5 and book 2-5 were 5 stars. It's really that good. Some of the best written material I've ever had the pleasure to read. Although there are a few slow bits, overall their impacts are big. Do yourself a favor and read it. Characters are solid and you will be invested. The world building is phenomenal. Because it's in space there are a ton of places and planets and boy is it a treat and well described. The plot and the retelling by Hadrian is a huge plus and very intriguing. You'll be invested in his plans and what he does next after each and every book. Can't wait to read book 7.
@@crystalsbookishlife I’m never going to apologise (outside or skits) for prioritising football 😅 But Thank you! I’m glad I could clear up what the series is about. There’s a great romance in there too but unfortunately it’s about 2% of the plot
Ok, fine, Empire of Silence is moving up the physical tbr 🤷♀️ also as an ex-teacher, if I could have taught my lessons like this, I would have been so happy
I loved the Dregs of Empire, I thought the story was a great idea about what happens to a character at the end of Ashes of Man.. definitely give it a read.
I was a victim of the high expectations. Book 1 was an absolute slog and I did not enjoy it at all. I fear having to do this again with book 2 just to get to the good stuff, but I shall at some point. It’s funny though, I read Demons of Arae first and it was epic, so I know he can write good action, but I think reading that first also contributed to my poor experience with book 1. Great video as always, teach! Keep em coming!
@@calumlott Oh no! I was lucky to get in before it was hyped, you definitely need expectations for a slow start. Though it is incredible I hope you do get around to picking it up. Also, second paragraph for DCC: I’m not gonna lie. You guys who were inside, probably warm and asleep and dreaming about some random bullshit? I’m jealous. You’re the lucky ones. You were just gone. Splattered into dust during the transformation.

"Got a little caught up watching the football" is the truest part of this video 😅
But seriously, this is the first video of this series I've seen where the plot is actually explained! Great video. Makes me want to read it even more
