The funny thing is that guy really wasn't much better than Max at all, just was a little more comfortable with combos.
Not sure how someone like him could be on RUclips and not become a total narcissist. Like he's got genuine self-awareness and a good soul. I couldn't do this because of low self-esteem. I tend to just assume to have the esteem to even DO this requires a sense of vanity that lends itself toward narcissism... but he somehow manages to dodge that completely and still manage to supply content, keeping his esteem, while staying humble. Which is a tall fucking order.

Really digging how, as of recent, there’s little bits of flavor between matches. It’s nice to not just go from match to match and hear some nice bits between matches to hear for some added entertainment while also serving as a gap between these high energy matches.
Given the roster of most KoF games, its pretty diverse.

The sprite work in this game is phenomenal. Easily the best I've seen in a fighter. It's really sad that there aren't any more 2D fighter using sprites anymore. Doubly sad is the downgrade visuals took in the sequel.
I don't know why they couldn't use the same sprites in a sequel. That one morrigan sprite has been in 3,000 games.
@@calska140 they don't have the money to make new characters. They barely did in this game, even. It's why Maxima and Ralf have the same body, or Joe and Hwa Jai also do.

Sprites are expensive. Plus, 3D models allow to sell skins. Look at SF or MK for example. Skins=$$$.
This game almost bankrupted SNK, so there's probably no way they're doing this again, sadly.

Still one of my absolute favorite fighting games of all time man. To me this is the pinnacle of 2-D sprite-work.
All I can think of now is how Kirby says "Power Wave" and that it essentially comes from this game.

Thanks for letting me know. I just updated it on PS4. I'm not sure if they updated the net code on Xbox one, since it's backwards compatible the 360 version.
Now they need to update King of fighters 97 online if they haven't already! And give us King of fighters 98 um ,2002um, neogeo battle collasium and kof 11 with rollback netcode!

I agree. Kensou in '96-'98, 2002, and grew up in XIII, WOWZERS... and I use King heavily on KOF and Capcom vs SNK. During these fights, I'm like, where was her Trap Shoot to Surprise Rose?
Shit I've been sleeping on this game for the past 10 years and finally decided to get into it. But King is definitely a character to add to ur arsenal. The one character I've slept on for MANY YEARS SINCE 98 was Leona. Finally decided to use her. Imo Shes really good with pressuring the opponent when cornered.

I never got to thank you for cool hands-on analysis throughout the Fatal Fury and friends games in celebration of Terry coming to smash. I actually main the character because of how awesome he is and how much the streams have rubbed off on me. This game looks sick af btw
King of fighters XIII is one of the best in the series! And it's the best if you like graphics! Great story! It's not backwards compatible on PS4 because it can't play PS3 games unless they're streemed apparently but it is backwards compatible on Xbox One

Kof XIV plays completely different from Kof XIII. Imo, XIII is the much better game, difficulty aside.

Watching all the KoF 13 vids, you see Max slowly adapting to the game, and it's a great learning tool for people that want to get in.
Find the characters you like, take them to training for a bit, then go online and do your best, see what other people are doing that you can add to your movelist (see Max going in for jab pressure on wakeup), and just growing in a game.

I know people give Arcsys credit for how well animated their fighting games are but damn if SNK isn't up there aswell . Their Sprite art is on another level.

I enjoy the shen super use of "swinging for the fences", I like a game that can be that silly.
This is great, that combo with Saiki was cool as hell.
With Garou: Mark of the Wolves receiving a rollback netcode update for PS4, PC, Vita and GOG last week, hopefully SNK gives Code Mystics the green light to give their other fighting games on Steam the same treatment in the future, especially for KOFXIII and KOF02UM.
This game is awesome. It's visuals and animations are top too, I remember that back in the days it wasn't well received as other 2D fighters from the same era, like Street Fighter IV.

I didn't think there would be a fighter prettier to look at than sf3, but kof 13 has it beat. This is truly a masterpiece, and the fighting styles and outfits are all great.

Once you learn to juggle with hd combos into a sd move or an ex sd move into a neomax it opens up a whole new world in kof.

Man i wish i could learn this game. Today i managed to do 8th trial of Terry on keyboard and it took me like 2 hours lol.
This is the only game I consider to have a legitimate accessibility issue. But I think it's the best looking fighting game ever. And with an incredibly memorable cast that I still love after having only played for 50 hours in tutorials and then giving up.
Vice's aerial super is the sickest super in a fighting game ever, change my mind.
