Really wish this was more popular in the United States. While so it is, most gamers I meet nowadays say they never really heard of The King of Fighters.
and KOF is much fast phase game than SF...KOF are lots of mechanics compare to LAME SPAMMING fireballs, which not look like technical to me
I pretty much agree with you but then we look at Ash (you can kinda spam stuff with him because he's a zone-out sort of character to play)

Imo, Street Fighter is broken as hell. I never played it until I managed to beat a pro in all 3 rounds given. :| All of it was random button mashing.
KoF is actually really fun because it's... idk better than Soul Caliber for combos. And it was more balanced. Sad they got rid of Ash though.
It had been many years but look at Xiaohai and Tokido’s smiles while playing. It is like they are truly having great fun on this game. You can’t quite see them making the same face expressions in Capcom Pro Tours.
Considering the community consider them as the “KOF legends”, yeah, it’s kinda obvious... also, they play KOF way more often than street fighter
they should really go back to this art style for kof 15.

Yeah KOF 15 looks like it tried really hard on 3d. It looks stiff and models doesnt look great compared to SF, Tekken and DOA models.
It makes me so mad to know this game was treated as "ugly" with "outdated graphics" while this was literally SNK at its prime. This game's graphics are truly something special.

One wrong move and your whole momentum and match can be turned upside down. well tbh I just dig the professional gameplays of Tekken cause the outcome is unpredictable and you can’t trap people in the corner like how I usually see with Sonic Fox in MK cause TK is a 3D style you got a lotta space. low parries , timing , execution makes it perfect to watch but hey to each their own I’m just givin what I think.

i'm not a kof player, i didnt try enough to learn the game, but this is the most beuatiful game of the series by far for me.
Their faces at the start were priceless and the ending was wholesome. Sad but good sportsmanship and respect. To me that's a win

KOF14 is a tragedy. This one looks so good. Pure joy to watch pros playing it. I miss it. :(
Even though KOF will never be as hype as 13 for a long, long time; I truly hope that SNK will give it a shot in making KOFXV available to regions across the globe. And not JUST the United States, Japan, South America and South Korea.
Perhaps with rollback netcode potentially being a thing, and with proper advertisement; this game will do wonders for the FGC. If they haven't already fallen in love with Guilty Gear Strive...

A very technical fight overall.
I got a Qanba in 2011. there was a picture of the Qanba team in the box. Xiaohai was in there. I had no clue he's such a legend.
How to play Flame Iori:
1) Use ⬇️↙️⬅️ Punch
2) On second hit use his EX ver.
3) Repeat process
Why everyone playing goddamn chin, mr karate, kim and iori.

Mr Nose(Karate) seems to have a very low efficiency rate, why do they use him? O_o there are way more dangerous characters in kof :S

Eduardo Gutierrez Well, just because a character is one of the strongest doesn't make him the best. My experience with KoF is limited, I'm afraid, I'm a pretty mediocre if not sub player, and I don't mainly focus it. But to give another example in a fighting game I'm better at: In BlazBlue EVO 2014, there was not one Kokonoe player in the top10, besides her being the BY FAR strongest character in the game and most people having played her during EVO. I think that the stronger and more used a character is, makes others also more used to that matchup and therefore the character loses some credibility because everyone got used to fighting the specific character so much.
Could be a similar thing with Mr. Karate, since he seems to be relatively often played due to his strength, but indeed didn't seem like the best choice during this grand finals. I could be talking out of my ass though, as I said, I'm not a good source on KoF info, I'm just speculating and stating known facts :)

I bought it yesterday, it's a great fighting game. A game like it should be, easy to learn and hard to master! And those graphics and animations look gorgeous, respect to the artists. It's easy one of the best looking 2D fighting games (but I like the Neo Geo KoFs as well!).
I have it and Im trying to find the attractiveness in it but sadly I found it very boring. I love the complexity of tekken movements so this is disappointing. What do you like about it?
@@sapitron you have to get into it. I like 2D fighting games rather than polygonal ones. About KOF13 I like the fluid gameplay and the combo system, it just feels so satisfying to perform long combos. The training system is funny as well.

I dont know why so much hate on KOF XIV though. It is different but I still find it amazing. My son and I love playing it. The Orochi Saga still remains my favorite. But that of course might be due to my age.

He played bunch of shits, from tekken, blazblue, MvC 3, KoF, etc....and ofc SF. He was like multiple top 8 in all of those games too.

so so commentator and half asleep crowd, kof xiii suppose to be hypest game in evo. I was hoping to see hellpockets and metaphysic commentate. They would of brought the crowd to life and reynold would of helped too.

Yes, you need drive to make long combos, drive cancels take half of the HD bar, desperstion moves and EX moves take 1 drive bar.
U got it right with the exception that DM and EX doesn't use Drive but just Power meter.

+LingFeng Guo Thats why I like 3d fighting games more. You can side step or in some cases just leave the stage all together like in Dead or Alive. 2D fighters are limited in this aspect.

I like the style of this game, although one thing that bothers me is the (presumably stylistic) choice to use a black-background on some of the special effects sprites rather than have them done using a screen or overlay effect - I understand they're trying to keep the magic of the original Neo alive but... it looks really weird in a HD game. Some of them do seem to use a proper overlay with graduated transparency... so it seems weird!

I wonder why Chin's combos deal so much more damage than other characters, not to mention his juggling is totally unfair, PLUS his collision size seems to be smaller than the other characters. totally OP and imbalanced

Does King of Fighters have death touch like say MvC3? (Death touch for people who dont know i if you get hit your pretty much dead) The reason i ask is because tokito at the start got a 0>death combo, im not really knowledgeable on KoF mechanics do you have to burn meter to get these long combo or are they just inate?
Often times you have to burn all the meter that's available (max meter available is 5 bars and full HD meter) but some characters can 100% combo with less meter (the least meter was 'zero' bar and HD with Hwa Jai - he builds a full stock before and after the HD combo to end with his super - but the combo is almost completely impractical). Most 100% combos are impractical due to the meter usage or the difficulty, but they do exist.
Also the Tokido combo with Chin against Xiao Hai's Karate had a reset in the middle (you see that when the hit count restarts) so it isn't a full death combo but it's a guess wrong and die situation. That's one of the reasons Chin is considered really good.

It's either resets or too much meter spent or too impractical to do by a human in competition.
